    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

One can interpret the tone of the TERMS I posted as being demanding and can then fore be offensive.

I apologize for that... it was not my intentions to come off as a being rude.

I merely wanted to address some concerns that I have regarding the delivery of the geckos at the AORS.

Hey Tish,

I think the terms are great and are warrented when dealing with someone like Pruett.

David does have a point....if the weather was good enough why weren't the animals shipped? By the way how long has he had your money for and did you get his answers from the terms you sent yet? It should only take a few moments to send them back via e-mail. Let us know how this is going for you.
 
Today's email to Bobby Pruett

Here is a copy of the email I am sending to Bobby Pruett today. It may sound ugly but I am getting nothing from him. As said in my email... I emailed him LAST Wednesday and I haven't heard anything from him since.

Again I can't emphasize enough on how I brought this on myself for not looking this guy up before doing business with this him. :bandhead0

However, the damage has been done. What would you do in my current position?

Today's email to Bobby Pruett:

Bobby,

I’m sure you check you email more than once a week… especially while doing business with your customers via the Internet. I am trying to complete and close this transaction with you regarding the geckos in the best way possible. It is hard to do so when you choose to answer my emails once a week or sometimes once every two weeks.

I sent you an email last Wednesday (after last Mondays email) with concerns regarding my travel to Ohio to pick up the FT geckos at the All Ohio Reptile Show Jan. 22nd via Rick and DEB Harvey. The questions regarding this weekend are important and require answers if my trip to Ohio is to occur this weekend.

1) You asked me to email you my phone numbers and I gave them to you so that you could contact me regarding the best way for me to get the geckos. You’ve NEVER used my phone numbers to call me. I’ve always had to contact you via phone with concerns and questions.

2) You told me you would give me Rick and/or DEB Harvey’s number IF it was ok with them… I haven’t heard anything via the phone or email from you, Rick, or DEB regarding the All Ohio Reptile Show on Jan. 22nd except for your rant on how they are doing you a favor (which is well after I called you about the All Ohio Reptile Show). You have my work, cell, and home phone
numbers. I not only emailed them to you more than once, but I left them
on your answering machine too.

3) You always tell me you’re going to do something and then you NEVER follow through.

*You tell me you are going to provide the information I requested about the geckos. I’ve got nothing so far.

*You tell me you are going to contact Rick & DEB right after I finish talking to you on the phone, you give me nothing but grief in that regard well after the our phone conversation.

*You tell me that you want me to contact you on days that are suitable for shipping in both of our areas. I sent you many emails and left messages on your answering machine trying to get into contact with you regarding good days for shipping… I get no replies, no phone calls, no apologies. Just poor excuses on why you couldn’t contact me when I finally reach you by phone.

What have I done to you to deserve such treatment and disrespect? The last email I sent you, I apologized for coming off as demanding (as you stated)… DID YOU READ THAT? If so, why didn’t you reply?

I reread your reply to the email I sent you last Monday, you accused me of barking commands at you. You replied with how YOU make the terms and that you don’t follow terms made by others, and how you are going to ignore me if I demand anything again. YOU’VE HAD MY MONEY FOR GOING ON ((( 2 MONTHS ))) and I HAVE NOTHING IN RETURN from YOU…. ((( NOTHING)))

Why are you treating me this way? What are you trying to prove?

At this point I don't know what moves are right or wrong in attempts to resolve this issue with Bobby. I am aware that this might have been the wrong move but too much time has passed as far as I'm concerned.

I am personally sorry that it had to come to this but it is who you are dealing.....sorry 'delt' with. And you are doing just what he wants you to do and that is squirm. You see Tish, Pruett has an inferiority complex and he gets off on making people do what he wants. He is intentionally not responding to your e-mails because it makes him feel like a big man. He is intentionally not calling because he just wanted to make you give him all of your information, again he gets his jollies by making demands and having them met, that's why the comment of he will not listen to your terms and so on. If he would listen he would feel more inferior than he really is. He demanded for months for me to give him something and he didn't get it and boy you should have seen him blow up on the forums....he didn't get what he wanted and he completely lost it.

Unfortunately you have crossed paths with one of the scummiest individuals in the community and you paid dearly for it. Chalk it up as a learning experience and have him give the geckos to the people he stated he would give them to and hopefully one day you will see the animals. I can't believe this scammer still finds a 'mark' every now and then. :toiletcla

Hey Tisha,

Any response from this guy yet? Did you get your geckos? Will you be getting them or will you be getting the shaft?
 
Results from the AORS

It was a LONG trip to AORS but we made it.

First, I must say that Bobby Pruett came through on his promise to have the geckos at the show with Rick and Deb Harvey. They turned out to be really nice people, which was a great relief. The geckos looked healthy but were slowly moving about due to the cold weather. They became livelier after they warmed up at the hotel.

If Rick & Deb read the BOI... I am sending a big THANK YOU in their direction :wavey:

I took pictures of the geckos as soon as I got them and will post 2 of the pictures I took as soon as they develop. One will be of the geckos at the show and one with the geckos in their new enclosure at home.

I fed the geckos crickets Saturday night after they were comfortable with being warm. The female ate like a pig (6 crickets) but I think the male was still a little stressed from being transported from one place to another... in and out of cold weather. He ate only one cricket.

Columbus, Ohio had at least 6in. of snow on the ground the entire weekend. I've never been in weather like that. It was awesome!

But... now that the geckos are home and comfy... I will feed them again tonight after work.

I think you have a better chance of those AFT's hatching out a 2 headed Komodo Dragon than Albino's. I certainly wouldn't hold my breath on hets from Pruett.
 
My guess is that without you posting your concerns on the BOI you would probably have gotten zilch. :no01: Thank goodness for this site!

Maybe it's just me but... Paying for something like this and not having anything done about it for over a month is NOT a good transaction.

Did you pay for shipping by the way? Was that refunded since they were never actually shipped?
 
I never said it was a good transaction, i said you just never hear good things about Bobby.Meaning being i was surprised the buyer recieved anything what so ever.Better late than never is all im saying;)
 
Shipping Refund

Although on Bobby's website, aborealsetc.com via the FOR SALE section, it states on most of the prices for the animals listed that shipping is included: http://arborealsetc.com/for_sale.htm

And in the TERMS printed on his website it states that shipping charges to and from his location is the buyer’s responsibility, unless other arrangements have been made: http://arborealsetc.com/terms.htm

However, when I asked him on the phone about refunding the shipping charges for the geckos, He told me that he didn't charge me shipping. He says he takes care of the shipping charges as a favor to his customers… He never told me this prior to purchasing the geckos or after until I asked for a refund for shipping :(

I didn't get a screenshot of the FOR SALE section of his website before he changed the geckos status to SOLD to prove that shipping charges were included in price... so I couldn't argue otherwise. In essence I paid $125 per 100% Het for Albino Fat-tailed Geckos from Bobby Pruett. I saw other Hets for sale at the AORS for as much as $165.

However, I did receive the geckos and I'm only out aprox. $30-40 for shipping verses $250 worth of geckos. For this situation, these are odds I can deal with. Like I said before, I will be much more careful next time when choosing a breeder to purchase reptiles from.
 
I am also glad that you got your animals and consider yourself lucky you did! I myself on the other hand was grossly ripped off by the guy. I agree that it was NOT a good deal....look at the way you were treated by e-mail. My question to you is, will you be doing business with him in the future? :dancer01:
 
Ok...

I made one bad purchase decision... but give me some credit... geesh!

I’ll definitely keep yall up to date on the offspring success of the alleged 100% hets.

I still haven't gotten the background information I requested from Bobby on the FT's yet. Only time will tell of what’s to come.
