In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ty Park I Think We should Reconsider his Rep

Knowing Ty and also being a Vet Tech for 30+ years with a specialty in Reptiles, I feel what Ty offered was more than fair. A picture from the buyer could have easily been sent via email or posted on Photobucket to document the alleged Stomatiitis in the tortoise. That may have also helped, for Ty to see what the complaint was and may have helped avoid this type of thread. The fact that Ty also offered to have Fed Ex pick up the tortoise, which is unheard of when returning something that is not alive, let alone overnighting a Tortoise, just verified how much he cared. As far as going in and pulling out yellow gobs from a tortoises mouth, I never encountered that in my years of dealing with reptiles with stomatitis. We normally have to use a mild anesthesia to allow us to remove the plaque with a dental tool and clean the area with diluted Novalsan or Betadine and never use full strength. I just cannot fanthom holding a torotiose's mouth open and being allowed to do what was stated. I believe Ty acted fairly and did nothing wrong with making his offer of refund once the tortoise was returned.

Ty is an incredibly generous and caring man. I highly recommend him as a business person and as a wealth of knowledge. He has donated several hundred to my rescue for tegus and monitors, as well as other charities. Surely, that says something alone.

I have worked with Ty for over 12 years, He keeps to his words. He is not just an animal dealer, but a breeder as well. He does more than just selling animals. I know once he has a vet, He will certainly treat the tortoise. Remember he needs it as an education tool for his workers as well. I cannot see what else you what him to do.

Ty Park

While realize that the original problem has been resolved between Ty and Susan I still had to put my 2 cents in. For anyone who will ever have any business with Ty you are a very lucky person. I have been to his farm and I have has 1 (so far :)) buisness transaction with him and many many emails in which he taught me many things I did not know. He is the best most caring person I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
My new motto is: BUY FROM TY!!!!

Ty Park

This is the first year we have done business with Ty. He has been extremely professional and all around great to work with. He always pays quickly without any haggling. Great guy and we need more like him in the hobby!

Susan!

I hope your apology is genuine. It deserves merit to step up and admit when you are wrong. I applaud that since we are human and humans make mistakes. We, the buyers and the sellers, make up the reptile community and industry. The industry/community cannot survive without each other. This industry has been blemished by the actions of wrong doers in the past and continues in the present. We need to do better and change the reputation of our kind.

Ty Park is great guy

When a person can just blast away with false accusations (until pics and a vet health cert). These threads should be deleted, Ty has a top notch farm and this hobby there a need for more breeders like Ty. He offered a full refund what does the OP really want ? Sounds like a refund and the op gets to keep the RT. Not.

These threads should be deleted,

I disagree. Not only would there be problems with asking someone to judge which threads were valid and which were not, there is a lot of value in this thread in my opinion.
First of all, there was post after post of members relating their transactions with Ty and what an excellent experience they had dealing with him, so it is really a 'good guy' thread in disguise.
And second, anyone reading this thread might have an opportunity to think long and hard about whether they wanted to business with the OP if she wants to buy from them in the future.

Ty is not a good guy. He's a great guy

I've known Ty for years. I've done business with him and have always been pleased to do so. On the subject of retail vs his dealing with the big box stores, I can use an example of past experience with him. Ty will go out of his way to hand pick the most exceptional animals and sell them to his private customers first, then send the average animals out to the big box stores. And places like mine benefit from this process. Ty is my friend and fellow breeder/businessman. I stand with him always. And Ty is very concerned and generous when it comes to the herp community. Although he can't attend the International Herpetological Symposium at the end of the month in New Orleans, he still donates money to the IHS grants program. This money goes directly to grants to students and researchers, field workers and educators to the benefit of Herpetology. Without Ty and others generous donations, the IHS grant program would not be possible.

Thanks Ty for being the man you are. We need more folks like you in this business.

I love Reptiles...

Yall should get the love back. You guys sound so silly sometime. I really hate posting on this website because the maturity is that of a middle school ( a dumb one ). Lighten up people.

I love you

To me, this thread has turned COMPLETELY around and is now showcasing Ty's true good guy colors! Well Done Ty!

Glad Ty's rep has been strengthened by this thread and not tarnished. OP, where have you gone? You were offered a golden ticket without even providing any evidence to Ty. I'd be surprised if that offer still even stood.

What I don't really understand or see justified here is the OP's complete un-trusting attitude towards the seller. Yes she was apparently sent a sick animal (I say apparently because we haven't been shown any proof) but never does she actually believe that the seller is going to take the animal to his vet at all... for no apparent reason. Why this attitude? Even when the seller told her about having a no-kill policy, having a vet on retainer, his stellar reputation in the community... I don't get it.

The OP posted this thread obviously related to this incident: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1621745#post1621745

I don't know how anyone could answer such a general question.

Yes it's your responsibility to decide how you want to treat an ill animal, but just because you say an animal was sent to you ill, you can't expect someone to just blindly pay whatever you want for the vet bills. You have to provide some kind of reason for HIM to trust that the animal was actually sick when you ask for a refund.

:NoNo:

The thread has already proven Ty Park, my boss, to be a reasonable, honest and top of the line animal caretaker. My name is Corey. I have been employed at his farm as a breeder and caretaker for two years. There are a few things I can tell you about the farm and Ty personally.

Animal Care: No matter what, our goal is to ensure proper health and care for the animals we house at the farm. If the animal needs something to increase care, we buy it. If someone makes a mistake, Ty ensures every employee gets to learn how to not make the mistake, even if it isn't in their job description. Not only does it teach a lesson, but every mistake corrected is a step closer to perfection (and less mistakes!)

Shipping: When I have to ship any of our cyclura, tegu, or any other reptile that we have hatched, it has to be perfect in every way unless the receiver knows about any flaws. Fat belly, energetic, full tail, all digits, etc. We do our best to send the best!

Our Vet: The few times I have gotten to work with him, he has done a flawless job repairing hemipenes accidents and recovering egg-bound females. He also does the best he can do to give us the medication and recovery techniques for any of our sick or injured reptiles.

Ty himself:

Trust: One of Ty's qualities he honors the most. Anyone that is honest with him, gains his respect.

Generosity: If someone needs help, Ty will go above and beyond to help them with whatever they need whether it be advice, support, or even something as simple as a compliment.

P.S....he also thinks he is funny....:D

I wish the OP would have settled down and thought before posting, but remember she did apologize to him and admit she was wrong. At this point that's all she can do. The cat's already out of the bag, there's no sense in still beating her up about it. At least this has pretty much has turned into a Good guy thread to anyone who reads it. I know this has convinced me the Ty is a good guy!

Prob a little late on the good ty park experiences, but I will chime in as I got 3 RTs from that same ad, and all 3 came in great shape with zero problems and are eating machines!!!! They pretty much will charge me when I come up to the tort table thinking ther gonna get fed.(not shy at all ).

This thread has made me want to look to Ty and his animals before anyone else...and I will.

:iagree: !

Makes me want to visit him personally. So jealous of those that were fortunate to do so. Always nice to see someone who truly loves their animals when too often come across those who only care about the almighty buck. Kudos Ty!

I want to be like Ty when I grow up! You are so fortunate to not only be able to do what you love but to give back so much. Thank you.

So glad this had a happy ending.
