    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am a little late to the party, but I will put in another good word for Ty. This has really gotten out of hand. Ty does as good of a job as anyone in the industry. It is impossible to always sell perfect animals. Attacks are allowed with no regard as to whether they are true or not. When you read the whole post of all of the email exchanges, it obviously shows Ty to be more than reasonable and the poster to have attacked Ty from the start and not pay any logical attention to his replies. When is there going to be a method for posts like this to be resolved and the thread removed? The system is broken and needs to be fixed.

Actually, the system worked perfectly! Anyone who would buy or not buy due only to a thread title is small minded. If you bothered to read very far, the thread actually turned into a glowing endorsement for Ty.
 
Yeah i know that ty is a truthful person and i have heard only good things about him. And no offense but I know nothing of the poster so this seems odd i can't see Ty not caring about a tortoise that he sold that may affect his good name and it seems that he did all he could and the poster was just adamant about caring for it themselves

But on the real, sticking to the facts of this case, this OP has absolutely no ground to stand on. If I ever have a problem with a transaction (knock on wood), I would really hope the seller responds similarly to Ty. He was more than accommodating and went out of his way to make it right for the buyer.

Not Mouth Rot/Candida Yeast Infection in Mouth Russian Tort

My apologies, I said mouth rot. Vet says yeast infection. I'm still swabbing yellow mush out of his mouth. I thought the yellow globs were mouth rot.

Veterinarian Prescribed Nystatin 10-14 days and "Critical Care" 4x per day.

Tortoise still hasn't eaten, acquired 8 days ago.

Thanks to all who've shown concern.

Full report will post tomorrow, vet e-mailing it.

I don't know what to say about this post. I have tried to be reasonable and nice to her but her implication that we will not take proper care and give him the proper medical treatment is what made me angry. If we did send a sick tortoise, I want him to be returned for full refund so that I can see the tortoise personally and properly retrain my staff so that problem like this do not happen in the future. I have sold 1500+ Russian tortoises in last 3 month without any complaint. This doesn't make this matter better but I am willing to fix the problem if she would just be reasonable about this. She has been very demanding about keeping him without any proof that this tortoise is sick.

How old is the tortoise? According to the chart he's 15yo? That doesn't make sense. Why did you wait so long to take the tortoise in, and get the vet report up

Are you going to do what Ty suggested and get him the information, and he'll pay by CC? Or are you still saying that he's a bad guy over this whole thing? I've seen him be nothing but caring and accommodating to you and your predicament. I think it's time for you to buck up and deal with this situation.

This is why I refrained from reporting throughout this thread, the stupidity. If you go back and REALLY READ the thread, there is an e-mail between me and TY where I say I don't think he is a bad guy. Would you like me to copy it and re-post?
The vet estimated that the RT is 15 years old. When Ty sent him, I thought he looked pretty old. What doesn't make sense? I'm not saying he's been sick for 15 years. Why didn't I get the vet report up right away? Because I just got it e-mailed to me this morning. Why didn't I take the tortoise in earlier? Because I spoke to the vet on the phone, as it says in the report that you just read, and she concurred with what I was doing to treat him, which was extensive and which I posted in the thread, to which was responded to by a poster "yeah sure". The vet said that if I don't see an improvement, bring him in. I did. I posted the report. One of the reasons that I posted the report is for all the posters who called me a liar and unscrupulous and trying to get a free tortoise and who would run out and buy a tort today, just because of the fraud that I tried to perpetuate. Have you lost me, or are you following. "It's time for me to buck up and deal with it?" Please tell me what in God's name you're talking about. My main concern at the outset was that Ty didn't take his ad down and I didn't want any more ill RT's sold. He e-mailed me when the thread was quite long and said he would test his other animals. I was relieved, told him I appreciated him e-mailing me and changed my opinion of him. Again, look at the e-mail in the thread, or I can repost it for you if that will make it easier for you.

To me, you're making very little sense. I assume you'd have preferred that the whold thing was a lie by me, but you'd look like a much better person if you appreciated that it was not.

By the way, I told Ty that he was off the hook, in response to his e-mail to me, which was displayed many posts ago. I told him that I wanted to keep the tortoise, I cared about him and I would treat him, if he died it would be my fault. I said I didn't expect him to refund me. If he still wants to refund me, he already has the vet report, the same one you just read and he has my e-mail. I assume that his vet would have given him a better deal than mine would, so I do not expect a refund, as I told him.

Ty Park is an excellent person to deal with.. He has a very large farm and multiple employees, so occasionally a problem may occur, but the important thing is that he tried to resolved the matter, which he most certainly did.. If you choose to not accept his more than acceptable offer to fix the problem, than it is your fault. He is dealing in business, you are dealing in emotions..
 
Condescending much there, Deborah? You have barely responded in this thread, and PREMATURELY made a BAD GUY thread on Ty, yet you want to be a condescending person to me because I questioned you? Oh heaven forbid that someone wants to make sure that what you're posting is valid. Ty is OFFERING, (since right before you posted the "vet report") to pay for that vet visit that you took the tortoise to. If you don't want him to, then that's up to you.

But you as an OWNER who thought they were sent a "damaged" animal, should have taken the animal in for a vet check ASAP. I don't give a damn if you called the vet on the phone. They cannot make a diagnoses over the phone, and only go off of what they are told by the owner of said animal. Which is kind of like calling your doctor and asking them to give you a diagnosis of some stupid thing you did to yourself, over the phone, and expect them to get it right without seeing you. If the vet doesn't SEE the animal, then they cannot accurately give you a correct diagnosis. Which is why I asked why you took so long to take the tortoise in to the doctor, if you were so upset about the way you received the animal.

And don't tell me that I need to re-read this thread. I've read it. You're nothing but drama, and BS.

Almost no updates, (other than to say you were going to treat from home instead of going to vet), and you want to get snooty with me? Go ahead and be as snooty as you want, Ma'am, it doesn't change my thoughts about you and your attitude towards Ty and this entire board.

As I said before, you're condescending, rude and instead of being on such a high-horse, you should take what Ty is offering, with a SMILE. No one's offering you vinegar and trying to tell you it's honey here. Which might be your problem.

Wow! This is just someone who wants attention people. She is obviously a drama queen and didn't get enough attention as a child. This man offered to pay for the return postage and advised you that the farm is a no kill farm and a vet is on retainer. Obviously so, otherwise, he would not have the reputation or the farm that he has and it takes money to run one.
What he offered you is standard business practice for anyone. YOU CHOSE TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET instead of shipping it back! And then you want to try to damage this man's reputation? As Mystik said, get off of your high horse and grow up!
