In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ty Park I Think We should Reconsider his Rep

You two do a great job of letting it die by continuously bumping the thread and eliciting further response to the same effect.

You two? Unless I'm mistaken you brought this back up on 08-06-2013 @ 11:16. Yea its just us two. It just "never gets old" when somebody wants to blame someone for something yet does the same thing themselves. Lol Nice one.

My responses are follow-ups responses to posts that are made before mine. Only two people are resuscitating this while also claiming to wish it would die.

As are mine sir. I hadn't responded or gave this a second thought for 5 days till my name got brought up again. I'm sorry you feel that way but it is simply not true sir. If my name is left out I'm more than happy to step away and never see this post again. I regret every post I've put on here and really should've just agreed with the majority and saved myself the trouble.

Thank you anyway sir I appreciate your observation.

I suggest that you all learn to admit when your wrong, otherwise you look small. Actually, you are small.
My God, what a waste of time you've all been. And yes, you are drama queens and whiners. You've been nothing but from the beginning.

After coming on here and dropping your pants the way you did you have the nerve to direct those statements at the membership here?????

Therapy lady...and quick...it might not be too late!

This is a Board of Inquiry for Herpers?

First of all, Laura Bolt and the rest of you, what happened to Deborah in Homer, Ak was an unfair result of something that she did not do, but was unfortunate in that she was there and was included.

Secondly, if I were in charge of this site, I think I'd have you all banned for your behavior, to retain some sense of credibility on this site.

This is how this thread should have gone, if this site and the "board" is what you claim it to be and you folks had a little decency:

Complainent: I'm not happy, this is what happened, here are the e-mails, you decide.

Buyers/friends: I've always had good experiences with him, I'd recommend him, do you have any documentation we could condider?

Complainant: "> Hi Ty, thank you for being nice about it, I didn't think you were before, but I know I do things differently than other people sometimes, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm right. Honestly, sometimes I think I'm an idiot, but if I come across a sick animal, I get attached to it right away, I feel like it needs me. Last night I couldn't stop thinking about the possibility that he might be euthanized for something I can fix. (I think) I jumped on you from the get-go. I was very upset because I know mouth rot is painful and he showed no interest in food after all his time in the box. I was just shocked to see the condition of his mouth. But things happen, that's the sad part of dealing with animals. I had a lot of success removing the yellow globs in his mouth and that made me really happy. It's the first time I've ever had to pry a tortoises mouth open and I'm very relieved that it went so well. I was able to get every bit of it that was visible and no bleeding, I'm giving him Jumpstart with electrolyte in it and I think he'll get through this. It means a lot to me that you do care, I can see that you are a good person and I misjudged you. I like to know that people who are dealing with animals are caring people. Thank you. Don't worry about making it right, I want to keep him and I'm satisfied with you keeping the $90. If for some reason he doesn't make it, it will be my own failing, because I've decided to treat him. If you're worried about whether or not he really has mouth rot, because of your other animals, maybe you'd consider spending what you would have spent on shipping towards a culture at the vet. I'm hoping I won't have to take him, they're so expensive in Homer, AK. But I'd definitely do it if having the test done is necessary to you and I'd pay the balance. (above and beyond the shipping amount). But please don't ask me to send him back, I can't do that. He's such a good little guy, he lets me handle him without fighting at all, or getting stressed, for a wild caught animal, it's kind of strange.
> I do believe you now when you say you'd care for him, just so you know."

Buyers/Friends: I'm happy that this was resolved and Ty'd reputation is as good as ever.

The end.

I can tell you that Deb did not have a good experience with this tortoise, having to force its mouth open innumerable times to treat it and feeling terrible about that. She's commented several times that she feels terrible that now it's afraid to be picked up.

All of you have a wonderful day.

Glenn/Deborah, it is interesting to see an express desire to silence any dissenting perspective as a way to achieve a deranged concept of fairness.

Ty came out of this looking excellent. You/Deborah? Not so much.

Actually this thread should have never been started. He told her to return the tortoise and he'd have his vet treat it. She decides in her head he will euthanize it. She demands to keep the tortoise but wants him to pay for vet bills (with no proof he was even sick first). Her contact with him did sound like blackmail, even if she didn't mean it that way. She, again in her head, decides that all his Russian torts must have mouthrot (again before a vet's diagnosis) because it's so contagious and demands he take his ad down. She portrayed herself here as a hysterical person whose mind runs away with them.

Most sellers have terms of service. If the buyer is not willing to abide by them, they have no right to demand their own solution on their own terms. In this case Ty was willing to go above and beyond and she still declined. Her recent posts show me that she is still not really happy with this. She is the one who proved HERSELF to be the bad guy here, not Ty, not Fauna, and not the rest of us!

This is how this thread should have gone

I stand by my positive posts about Ty, and my not so positive comments about the OP. She wanted to reconsider his rep, you want to rewrite this thread. The thread is here to stay; and I do not wish to reconsider at this point

In fact your attempt to sway public opinion not with information but rather by telling us how it should be, cements my thoughts about my own opinion and of the many others I see here which reflect the way I saw the transaction.

First of all, Laura Bolt and the rest of you, what happened to Deborah in Homer, Ak was an unfair result of something that she did not do, but was unfortunate in that she was there and was included.

First of all, Glenn Pearston, she was charged, had the opportunity to clear herself, still pled guilty and was given a sentence for it ... just as you were, Glenn. The parties she was "included" with could have cleared her, but evidently did not or could not. You/she shoulda just let this die as was suggested a long time ago.

Secondly, if I were in charge of this site, I think I'd have you all banned for your behavior, to retain some sense of credibility on this site.

Secondly, you are not in charge, so I'm pretty sure your suggestion won't be well received by the individual who does own and incurs the hefty cost of maintaining this site.

You now bump this useless thread yet again and want to want to tell the readers how "this thread should have gone"?
A month after the original moronic post was made? A month after the majority clearly voiced their opposing positions and experiences? Seriously?

Perhaps you should have brain-stormed with Deb before she posted it.

Perhaps you should have advised her a long time ago to either return the RT for a full refund (as Ty requested) or provide proof of illness before laying on the BS and smear campaign.

Perhaps you two should have communicated before the "gimme-my-money-or-I-tell-on-you scam" or the "refund-me-and you-get a-good BOI-review" BS.

Perhaps let this just sink to the bottom ... :yesnod:

If I remember correctly, the seller's first response was, in essence, Return it for a full refund. Had she done that, there would have been no extra aggravation or undue stress on her. It's great that she chose not to...but she lost most of her griping rights with that decision.

These threads should be deleted,

I disagree. Not only would there be problems with asking someone to judge which threads were valid and which were not, there is a lot of value in this thread in my opinion.
First of all, there was post after post of members relating their transactions with Ty and what an excellent experience they had dealing with him, so it is really a 'good guy' thread in disguise.
And second, anyone reading this thread might have an opportunity to think long and hard about whether they wanted to business with the OP if she wants to buy from them in the future.

The problem with this format is that on first glance after a search, people see these red X's and a title of "Bad Guy." That might be enough to scare people off from looking more. I think the thread labeling should be a different format (Ex. Name, Issue). And then, if it needs an icon, the mods could come in with a different set of pics -- Good, Bad, Resolved. Because stuff happens and a person who is willing to resolve it correctly, should get recognition.

This is why we do not edit anything, if we (mods) were to come 'apply the label' of bad/good, etc, then we are acting like judge and jury. That is not going to happen. This has been discussed in the feedback forum quite a bit.

Final warning... do not post off topic discussion in the BOI

if you want to advise how you feel this site should be run, I suggest you take those comments to the Feedback forum so this does not go off topic.

After finally coming to the end of page 16, reading each post for what they were worth, I see both sides, the irritability, the fixing ... everything.

I must say that although both sides seemed slightly short, it's true OP didn't supply evidence. After being initially nervous about seeing Ty's name as a 'bad guy' thread (after looking him up, seeing he hat Blue Tongue Skinks for sale) I knew to read the whole thing.

In essence, I hope he has some critters available. I would like to do business, as I cannot see negativity towards him that has some sort of credibility or something to back it up with.

I just seen and read this entire thread and have to say Ty is the best guy I have ever dealt with and I deal with a lot of people. Anyone who would post a bad guy post about someone who offered to give a refund AND pay the return shipping is a complete idiot. You seldom hear of anyone offering to pay the return shipping. And to complain that you need to drive 50 miles to the vet like it's his problem that you don't live near a vet. I'm sure if he agreed to pay the vet bill in the beginning you would have had all kinds of tests done and sent him a $2,000 vet bill I'm sure, which is the reason most sellers say to send it back to them for a refund.
At least we know not to buy or sell from her.
Keep up the good work TY and thanks for helping out the Turtle Survival Alliance.

I agree with other, sounds like TY is willing to take him back, or replace him at not extra cost to you what so ever. Ty is also not some mass breeder who does not take care of his animals he does it for a love of them and not because of the money.

I kept waiting to see a picture of the animal at some point !!!! it never came :(
does anyone know the outcome of this story?? did the turtle make it ok ??

Ty offered to take the animal back and give a refund.
OP chose not to send it back.
Ty offered to do the right thing. End of story.
