    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Urban Albino guarantee/worthless

That's the point of the BOI. To help solve issues as well as show good guys and bad guys. This might not have been resolved as quickly without the BOO, so it just shows what a valuable resource it is. I can understand Mike's stand in the beginning, but once the photo error was realized he didn't hesitate to apologize and do everything he could to rectify the issue. Definitely speaks volumes about UA's ethics and customer service. I'll definitely be looking for their booth at the next NARBC show in Arlington.

Looks like everything got settled nicely. It's too bad that the poor snake is dead though. I do find it very upsetting that when someone comes on here to post about a horrible thing that happened to them, that THEY get accused by members on here of "having it in their collection". That is quite an accusation and unwarranted. I would hope that the BOI is for the victims to get help and not have to worry about being accused of such nonsense. I personally think that Shawn should be issued apologies for this and good on Michael for making things right. Just my .02

Again, I agree. I wouldn't say this is a typical example of "snob mob rules" antics, which I've been subject to more than once here where the mob was proven wrong, but it is a good example of how some self proclaimed hotshots think they are above condemnation and throw people under the bus to suit their agenda before getting the facts. The OP had every right to complain, and was subject to scrutiny right out of the gates by a more than frequent member here who thinks her pooh never stinks. Don't count on an apology, OP. She left the building when she realized she shot from the hip and was WRONG. Dispicable, IMO.

I just still have to wonder...if there wasn't so much hot water, would Mr. Castillo have had the motivation to look for his error? I'm not trying to be unduly accusatory, but it is something to wonder about....

I think one member urged Mr. Castillo to look at the possibility of a photo mix up, which Mr. Castillo quickly did and found the error.

Hot water? While I've seen hot water "applied" liberally in some cases, this was not one of those cases. In less than a day Mr. Castillo admitted to the error and then rapidly refunded any monies due.

Continuing to question whether or not he would have been "motivated" to look for his error or hinting that the BOI forced this resolution sounds self serving and self congratulatory.

There's a difference in acknowledging that someone in this thread assisted the two parties in figuring out what happened with the photo mix up versus continuing to strongly hint that Mr. Castillo was somehow forced into being a nice guy because of the BOI.

Sometimes you need someone from outside the box to bring the error into the light. Thats what the BOI did. Now who that person accepts that information/feedback, I believe shows the true character of that person. I'm not perfect and the error was mine. I do consider myself a good person and I know that Shawn and I would have figured it out.

Thank you,

Michael Castillo

Ok, I just reread this ENTIRE thread- maybe I was being a bit harsh on the seller. He fixed his mistake once he realized what had happened, the buyer got the snake he ordered, plus a bit extra, so Mr. Castillo did prove himself an honorable seller.
