In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well I have never posted before, usually I just come here and read. However, I felt the need to let everyone know the experience I just went through with Mary at Nature Coast Exotics. NCE will probably come on here and say everything I am saying is a lie and bash me, etc. Unfortunately for them I have saved every last email and communication so that only the FACTS are available (emails available upon request.) Little background about myself I used to be an avid collector and then left the trade for awhile simply because my life was just too busy. Now I am getting back into the trade and thought my first purchase would be a baby American Alligator. They always make a nice focal point when someone walks into your collection room. That is where the drama starts. You will see a timeline below but here is a brief (as best as I could) explanation. I ordered an American Alligator from Nature coast exotics, found out over a week later that they could not ship to the state of GA which I did not know because I just moved here from Ohio where they were legal. Mary immediately offered me a refund but instead I wanted to find a way to make the transaction work (legally). I proposed shipping the alligator to my parents house in Ohio. Mary was fine with that. However, because of the poor response times from Mary as well as my parents overall business lifestyle I was never able to coordinate availability of my parents to be home to sign for the animal. I then requested the animal be shipped to an airport in Ohio as my parents would be able to pick the animal up there. Mary informed me that it would be an additional $75. I agreed to pay the extra but then Mary informed me that she did not want to drive all the way to the airport for one animal. (not a way to run a business but anyhow)

After several instances of trying to coordinate times

8/29 - Purchase and pay for 1 American Alligator on Nature Coast Exotics Website
9/4 - Mary Informed that they would be able to ship me an American Alligator in the state of GA. Offered refund.
9/4 - Called and left voicemail for NCE, no call returned.
9/5 - Called and left voicemail for NCE, no call returned. Email from Mary offered Refund.
9/5 - Requested to pay the addtl $75 to have animal shipped to an airport; Mary rescinded offer to ship to airport
9/6 - Called and left voicemail for NCE, no call returned.
9/7 - 9/15 - Discussed multiple different ship dates none of which ever resulted in an animal being shipped.
9/16 - Transaction became too complicated and I requested to exercise my previously offered refund.
9/17 - Mary informed me that they do not offer refunds per the website.
At this point I tried negotiating with Mary several times to get my refund. Mentioning how she offered me a refund twice, etc.
9/20 - I filed a claim with PayPal to let them decide whether I should get a refund or not.

9/20 - Received email from Mary attacking me for going to PayPal, threatening to call the state authorities of GA to say I was trying to illegally buy animals, banning me from buying from them again and then said she would give me a refund.

9/22 - Requested refund status. Mary advised me she does refunds on Monday (for someone who does not do refunds but has a refund day)

9/26 - Received Refund with another email banning me from ever ordering from them again

Now I would like to focus on the email of 9/20. Mary threatened to call the authorities to say I was breaking the law. So in order to hedge against a problem I called my state authorities myself and advised them that I had just moved to GA from Ohio, that I had no idea, and once I found out I no longer pursued the animal being sent to GA. The "deputy" on the phone advised me that this confusion happens all the time and no laws were broken. I would like to know why Mary thought a law was being broken yet she had no problem moving forward with the transaction?

Anyhow guys, I am sorry to have made this so long but again I want to make everyone aware of what I went through. All through this the attitude and customer service from Mary was just horrible. I never felt like a paying customer but more of an inconvenience. Unless someone can proove otherwise from now on I will no longer internet or phone order reptiles but instead attend shows and make my purchases there.

Thank you for listening.

Aaron, from your posts it sounds as if you were planning on having the alligator shipped to Ohio at which time you would bring it back to Georgia, correct? If yes, then isn't that illegal? Isn't that unethical? I am not going to side with one party over another but those comments alone sound a bit dishonest if you ask me.

Griz

No as mentioned in my emails to Nature Coast it would be kept in Ohio. I am only temporarily in Georgia for work, and will be moving back to Ohio.

That statement would lead me to believe you would then arrange to have your parents ship the animal to you in Georgia. Personally I think thats what you had in mind. I think NCE was hip to the idea of you trying to circumvent the law in Georgia and did not want any part of it.

Did you really want a focal point in your parents house? You couldn't even coordinate a delivery of the animal to your parents in Ohio because of their busy schedule, and yet you anticipate they would take care of this animal until you move back?

You claim to have gotten out of this hobby because of your busy lifestyle in Ohio. You now move to Georgia "temporarily" and want to set up a reptile room with a gator as a focal point? This story just doesn't jive. It stinks of bullshit and circumvention.

Chuck,

Did you read anything above or just decide to post your bullshit? NCE had no problem with shipping the animal hence why I could not get a refund. And again you are getting into opinions which is ridiculous, try sticking to the facts like I did.

Okay Aaron

Why don't you just answer the above question posted by Chuck. I would really like to know how you expected to care for this animal from Georgia. And why purchase animals in Georgia when you're moving back to Ohio? When are you moving back by the way?

Aaron

Who cares about YOUR facts? Heres what I gather from what you wrote in your story right here Aaron....

You claim to have given up the hobby because of your very busy lifestyle in Ohio. You've now moved to Georgia TEMPORARILY FOR WORK and want to start your collection up again. So temporary is this work assignment that you would have the gator shipped to Ohio in anticipation of your return.

Why would you be committing to another collection in Georgia that will have to be moved or sold off when your temporary work assignment is up soon?

Why wouldn't you have emailed NCE to inform them you would be moving back soon and would contact them to arrange for a legal transaction? Why haven't you asked for a credit for an animal that can be legally shipped to Georgia? I mean after all....you are putting together a new reptile room in your temporary housing while on temporary assignment...aren't you?

Are those your facts Aaron?

Aaron, you said you had the emails - instead of referring to what is in them, post them.

Bill you are focusing on the most ridiculous parts. I gave up my reptile collection in Ohio WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE. Now 10 years later I am starting up a new collection, we are not talking about several months ago selling off my collection. Yes my work assignment is temporary in Georgia. My parents have every capability of taking care of a gator as they have several other turtles and tortoises of their own as well as exotic birds, dogs, cats, etc. Never did I say I was starting a new collection or room IN GEORGIA. I am getting back into the reptile trade ONE ANIMAL AT A TIME and this was going to be my first. At some point I would like to have a collector's room again like I did 10 years ago, but at this point I don't.

Why would I have asked NCE for a credit for an animal I don't want? Why would I want to buy from them when they can't return phone calls? I have read other posters complain about poor communication from them as well.

Why don't you attack NCE for being willing to move forward with a transaction that you consider illegal? What vested interest do you have with them?

I think your name says a lot, you are looking for any reason to be critical.

Harald,

I am more than willing to email you the chain if you wish, however it is much to long to post. Please give me your email address.

Thanks.

You were in college when you were 14?

Wow....must be some sort of genius graduating college at 14.

I think I might have found your web blog Aaron. It makes several references to a kid named Aaron, just like you, in college, in Atlanta, and missing his home town of Ohio.

http://www.aaronstrash.blogspot.com/

Ahhhh this stuff is too easy to find. Could be a major coincidence but I doubt it.

BUSTED!!! Balls to the wall! Second place means you lost first...jackass!!! Love the lipstick! Thank God you're gay so your lying genes end with you.

Did you know your such a little liar?

Hey Aaron....no hard feelings fruitcake. Its not like you cant create another fauna account with a fictitious name as most do when they have been busted.

Or you could just come clean and start fresh. Let me HELP YOU start....

"Hi, My name is Aaron, a college student in Atlanta, and I'm upset that I cannot keep an alligator in my dorm room."

Please consider the truth Aaron and you'll find many folks here, myself included, very very forgiving.

Dude you are a complete idiot. I work for a techonolgy company and am leaving Thursday Sept 28th to get married and am then honeymooning in Hawaii. I don't own a blog, I went to the University of Akron, etc. You are a complete loser to sit around doing this shit all day long. While I am out making real money. This is my first ever post here and obviously my last. You are one of those dorks that probably attends every reptile show in the United states and has a ball pyhton wrapped around their neck with a bearded dragon on your shoulder. I'm not in college, I live in Buckhead which is a very affluent neighborhood in Atlanta, I go to Christ the King Cathedral (Catholic church) on Peachtree. I went to college in 2000 and sold my reptile collection in 1999. Ok so 7 years ago not 10. You are welcome to search for me on myspace though if you really want to see me.

I don't even know what that means? Bill if you think you are so right come to ATL. Otherwise, get a life. 40 years old and hanging out at Faunaclassifieds, searching the web trying to "bust" posters, trying lame comedy (at least I think that is what is above). Does your wife know what you are doing? Doubt she would be very proud, although I am guessing you are single.

I wish you fellas the best of luck. Seriously I do. Watch out for the wrath of god....it could come in the forum of a lava eruption.

Well I have a lot of time on my hands Aaron. You know how it is....I graduated college at 5, put my next 20 in as a civil servant, retired, and you know.....here I am.

Are you with the retirement police? Have I done something wrong?

Dude I couldn't care if you owned a space station and worshipped a white vibrator. That is not whats on trial here. You've been challenged to post the emails and you haven't. You've been asked to answer questions and you've dodged them. Don't fixate on me as your object of destruction. Fixate on answering the questions that can blow me out of the water.

Heres a question: How is it you graduated college at age 14?
