Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

On 4-19 I was contacted by a person going by the username "tiedyegecko" but was later found out to also be known as KrestieKate, Krestie Kate, Kaitlyn Graves, kandifurgirl, and Grapevine Reptiles. She also seems to use her boyfriend's information as well; [email protected], Zackary Brosky, or Zack Brosky.
She inquired about two geckos I had been trying to re-home. I was supposed to move within two weeks of that time and didn't want to bring too much of a hoard with me since they'd need to be shipped. She got a male Tokay gecko and a rescue female crested gecko. The rescue female was released on the understanding that if she were to ever be bred, they'd wait until the gecko was very large and healthy, presumably quite a few months to years down the road. She bred the gecko anyway within 2 weeks, but lied about it and blamed her boyfriend. I'd suggest to be cautious if you plan on doing transactions with her, especially if you're worried about the reptile's well being.

The animal is 40 grams more than large enough to breed. Yes I was going to wait a year. She was accidently put with a male. I asked my boyfriend to put my male in with the yellows take pics to document on my iherp. I didn't even think of her being on my yellow rack. I'm sorry that it happened. She has sense been put into cooling so that she won't lay eggs and will maintain a healthy weight. She has been cleared by a vet and there was really no good reason for you to post this here.

Well, you also told me that the male supposedly didn't penetrate her. Why cool her if he didn't?

27 grams to 40 grams within 2 weeks is not healthy and normal weight gain. As I mentioned before, you should know this and should know otherwise than to say that gecko looked healthy when her belly was so engorged like that.

Shes in cooling because of the rapid weight gain. Shes not eatting as much now and hasn't gained any more weight. When she was in the gecko room she was eatting 2oz of food a day as were some of my other geckos. (It's a bit hot but sense then we had our new furnace put in and it's cooler in there now because we have ac) I did know the weight gain was a problem and She had been taken to a vet 2 diffrent times because of my concern and he cleared her both times. Also the kandifurgirl is my account name on livejornal why you would post that I have no idea. I'm also going to offer up my paypal (you have my boyfriends up there) Mines [email protected] that way anyone who dose have a concern has all of the correct info on me. My boyfriend dose alot of things seperate from me so haveing Zacks name up there and slandering him isn't really fair.

Zack's name is up there because the payment was made through him and led me to believe it was him that originally contacted me since there was no proof otherwise. He was involved, and you were saying that it was his fault the female was bred. I didn't point the blame to him, other than what you had mentioned, I only said his information was involved.

Cassandra- If you really wanted to look out for this gecko's wellbeing, you would have held off on rehoming her. I understand that moving with a house full of reptiles isn't easy, but maybe you could have held on to the crestie until she was ready to be back in action. Or had some sort of contractual agreement that she was not to be bred, etc. The most unfortunate aspect of this industry is that you have no say over how a new owner will treat your animals. You do your best to educate, but in the end you have relinquished the rights of ownership and have to trust that the animal's new home is a good one.

Kaitlyn- Because you own the gecko, you are well within your right to breed her if you want to. You didn't sign anything to the contrary and a verbal agreement just doesn't mean anything these days. I sort of believe you that your boyfriend messed up, but I also find it odd that you instructed him to handle your breeding projects. Where were you that you wouldn't be available to pair up your geckos? I have all my racks labeled and charted and I would still never trust another to breed my herps. Not even a "put gecko A in with gecko B" there is just too much left to chance.
Since it was brought up, could you please post the paperwork you received from the vet? She's been to the vet twice now and cleared both times according to your last post. It would really put Cassandra's mind at ease to see proof that this gecko was indeed the picture of health despite a bloated belly and an accelerated weight gain.

I will go see if Mark can print something up. He's a herp store owner, breeding center, and vet clinic in one. I've been going to the guy for years even when I lived a state away. He's done surgeries, given antibiotics and hospitilazations to my animals (and the whole citys animals) He's more of a call and he will see you animals kind of thing (dosen't really document anything which sounds bad)but i'm sure I can get him to print up something. He only charges a fraction of what a herp vet charges but if it's something he just can't do then he'll send ya to the vet clinic down the street. Anyone who lives in the area knows that this place is the best reptile store in the whole state. Shes going for one final check up in a week. So far she's had an enima (SP?) because he was afraid of a blockage and she also had two fecals done. We both agreed that she was just gorging herself on food and it looked bad in the photos because they were taken right after she ate 2oz of food that I had just put in. Also about the breeding. Me and Zack do this as a partnership and have for the past few years. I trusted him enough to put some of my pairings together while I was in anouther room. He always documents things real well and all of my tubs are clearly labeled with names and quarenteen tubs have diffrent colored lids than my breeders tubs. You would think after keeping these aniamls so long and liveing together you could trust your partner to do that. He really claims that it was just an honest mistake that we all have had some kind of mistake while keeping reptiles. If I had been in the room it wouldn't have happened but like stated before he didn't penitrate anyways so lucky me. Thai seems to line up fine and then when he gose to erect himself he'll stay on the outside of the female. He's done this with my female goldie both times they have been put together. I'm chalking it up to him just not really knowing whats he's doing yet sense my other male Paco did it his entire first breeding season. Both were virgin males. This whole situation is just really weird and I can guarentee it's the last time Zack messes with the crested geckos. I'll see what I can't get printed up to prove shes been to the vet.

Just curious, is he a licensed Veterinarian?

This has come up on here before and I just don't get it.

Lets give up on the "rehoming" line please, you either sold or gave her this gecko.

Why do you think you should be able to tell her what to do with her gecko now that it is hers?

I simply don't understand why folks do this. Once the gecko leaves your possession you no longer have any control over what the person does with it. No matter what conditions you place on the gecko, you can't control what others do.

The selling agreement was on the agreement that she would not breed the gecko. She would not have gotten the animal otherwise, and it was listed in our agreements.
This gecko always ate a lot, she's eaten that much when she was with me, but NEVER looked like that. I've yet to find somebody that can tell me and prove that they look like that just because of a temperature change. She should be able to say she's in the clear because of a rapid weight gain (then weight loss, she should have known better to say that the gecko was TRUELY 40 grams when she easily lost a lot of weight as the food passed through her.) in order to breed her. She agreed to wait until she was bigger. She should know that what she did wasn't right, and I feel bad that she put the blame on the boyfriend when it was pointed out.

Guess my signature didn't want to work for that one.

I am curious as well. If he is not a licensed vet, then his assessments aren't worth anything. At least not as proof that this gecko is healthy. And if he is indeed performing procedures and administering medications without a license then all I say is "yikes." Isn't it illegal to provide veterinary care in exchange for money when you are not a vet?

However, as said before, she's your gecko and you can do what you want with her. Unless of course there was some sort of written agreement that you would not allow her to breed.

Jateui,
Yes I know better and once again I didn't do it. I weighed her on an empty tummy and posted it on my iherp she was 37 grams without any food in her. Your beatting a dead horse at this point.

Gecko Den,
I honestly have never asked him if he was licends. I assumed sense he had all the proper equitment and medications that he was. I met him while he was vending at a reptile show when I was 15. My family drove to PA to see his shop and his clinic. I've known him so long and he's done so much for all of my animals over the years I never questioned wether or not he was a liscends vet. In on honestly even if he wasn't i'd still go to him. he's done much better work than when I was going to a herp vet. He knows his animals inside and out. Everything from Hots to rare aniamals. I had a vet once that did even know where my BTS's lungs were.

Yes we had said I wasn't going to breed the gecko untill she was of a good weight. I had no intentions of breeding her when I bought her. I just really like yellows. This whole insident was an accedent and Jateuis upset. I would be too but not to have taken it as far. No harm has been brought apon this animal. Shes healthy and gaining weight and still gaining weight even after shes been put into a cooler room. I will call Mark tommarow and find out if he's a liscends vet. As of now he's closed for the day. I'll update tommarow.

That's a pretty big statement. I'm not aware of any exotics store in Pennsylvania worth a poop. What's this guys name and his businesses name?

I'll ask him whats up with that but I still would vather take my animals to him than any other vet. He atleast knows crested geckos unlike the vets in the area. He's done truly amazing things for my animals and me.
