• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

webslave is gonna kill fauna classifieds

Uh, actually it was SUPPOSED to kick in immediately upon receipt of payment. I specifically asked my programmer to implement it this way, and it WAS working for the contributor levels I set up. Guess I had better check on this..... Sorry....

No problem just wondered. Shoot your so busy anyway, I could have waited.
It's there now anyway. :)

Ok, I Will apoligise for this thread and attempt to change the title if it will allow me to post my rescues here. Webslave and everyone else, please accept my humble apology for posting before having a full understanding of what was happening. No one understands working your butt off for hardly no $$ better than i do. Its very important to me that i don't lose this site as a rescue resource. Jim barnaba

I couldent find an edit post feature so if you want you can delete this thread with my blessings webslave. Also it's not nessacery to give me a basic membership for free. If i have to ill pay for it.

I don't mind paying a fee to post. I've sold quite a few things thru the classifieds here so the ROI has been very good.
I do think that the forums that paid members can post in versus non paying members has a flaw.
The BOI.
IMO, that should be free to post. Someone who got burned is not going to pay more money (no matter how small the amount may be) to warn other people. They are going to say screw it, let them find out on their own.
Make the classifieds, photo galleries, etc. a pay to use feature but leave the BOI free for all to use.

I don't believe that is 100 percent accurate. Hell, I CREATED the BOI because I got screwed!

I know you created the BOI because of what happened in a deal but I really don't think the casual buyer is going to utilize the BOI to warn other potential customers once they see they need to pay a fee to do it. They may come and search the BOI but as far as posting I don't think they are going to do it. Some people may only make one online transaction, have it go bad, see they need pay to post, and say forget it, I'll buy from the local petstore from now on.
I think what you did was great but I also think it was an "exception to the rule" and not the norm.
