I was under the impression that they should cooled as they would be in nature, if a dragons mates in March, lays eggs in May and they hatch Mid August they would be 4-5 months old during their first brumation in nature. So he was older than most beardeds are uring their first natural winter.

I am not breeding them, I owned them and was planning to breed thema nd haev not.

The page is also a bit outdated as I have not updated the site in a while but I no longer own any dragons.

I bought all of the 2.4 this summer except for a 1.1 Gold pair, I bought them in them earlier this year and the female was gravid. I did not do well incubating the eggs and have really good success with the leos and chameleons so I decided to let the dragons go to acquire more leos.

The Gold and Hypo were never mated but I had planned to mate them this fall. I was told the hypo was due to lay again at the time I bought her and marked her as due to lay at anytime based on information I was given with the purchase.

Orange X Hypo were due to be breeding age next spring

But I have not peronsally mated any dragons, bought 1 gravid and 1 supposedly due to lay anytime

I have not tried ot put this on anyone, if I had known he was under 18 I would not have shipped to him.

If the dragon had not been very active and eating and drinking very well I would not have shipped him.

I have AC in my home, and in my bedroom it was kept at about 72 daytime and 65 nights in my room where they dragons were cooled. I have a seperate digital AC unit only for my room and set it at 72 day time and 65 nights

I use a humidifier all year round for the chameleons so there was humidity in the air. They were in another room that did not have private AC but had private heat.

They also have a "pool" at all times for drinking.

If the dragon was unhealthy he showed no signs of it before I shipped him, he could have stressed out from shipping, Dan informed me he was at the top of the box on top of allthe packing when he got him, he was packed with paper shreadings under over and on all sides, Dan even stated that it worried him that he may have been badly banged around by UPS which very well could have happened.

I am not the worst of the worst, if the dragon was sick at the time I sent him, he showed no signs of it. He was very active and eating and drinking just as much as my 2 year old dragons were.

IF he as sick, he could have been when I bought him in July, he did not show it at all, so I would have had no idea by him actions, eating and drinking habits and great activeness.

UPS may have banged him to death during shipping and he could have died from severe stress on internal injuries, I have no idea!

so you really put a live animal in a box with no deli cup, no insulating styrofoam, nothing but shredded paper to keep him safe. And you sent this box to NY in October.

You must care something about animals, or at least your image or you wouldn't be here arguing. Please, in the future when shipping a live animal use the proper supplies. Here is a company I use:

Please find out how to care for animals before you buy them and allow them to lay eggs. If you didn't know how to care for dragons why did you incubate the clutch? In all the time the incubating took why did you not learn how to care for the animals you were bringing into the world?

the other deal that went bad...I SENT THE GECKO FIRST expecting to get healthy geckos in return, the geckos that were shipped to me were very skinny and died later that week,

you keep trying to change that and put it into your own words so i'll say it again

I SHIPPED MY GECKO OUT FIRST

in return the other person sent me skinny sick animals, which he said were healthy and looked healthy in the pictures

i did not keep his geckos to check them out like i did with the dragon, which was a mistake all together, and i did not want the same thing happening again


this deal was not with you, so dont even try and say it was

wendy you should really stop arguing, there are no more points to make, i was very offended that you accused me of killing the dragon, now its over, nothing else needs to be said

its sad that she owns other beardies and plans on breeding those. everyone should feel sorry for the ones she still owns.

Wow! 22 pages! It's too bad you don't really know Dan, He is a great person, always helping newcomers with anything they ask. I've watched his posts for quite awhile and Im sure anyone who follows the leopard gecko section will a test to his care and knowledge of reptiles.
I think for you to say that because Dan is a minor is a cop-out! Why would his age have anything to do with your B/D dieing?
To say that a bearded dragon could die from starvation or from thirst in four days is utter-nonsense! I had a bearded dragon for 11 years, and I sent him to my sister who still has him (he fathered a few clutchs this summer). You said earlier that he didn't have "live" prey to eat! Four Days? Hell!...I rarely ever fed my B/D live prey! He lived basically on veggies, greens and vitamins for 11 years! And I will say he was a fat old boy! As for A pool for swimming? What?
Beared dragons come from the deserts of Australia, I doubt that they rarely if ever get the chance to swim! And even if they did it wouldn't change the outcome of there survival in the wild. Most of there moisture intake is from plants and insects that they eat!


But getting back to your "story", After looking carefully at both your pic and Dan's pic... it IS the same B/D.
The scale pattern is the same and colors match remarkably well for a lizard that was "dead" & frozen!
It's to bad you can't see that that lizard was way under weight.....yes weight! Forget about his length...His weight!
And if you say he was longer than Dan says, than that just makes him even more under weight!

Even if both parties weren't at fault just about every respected breeder gives around a week live guarantee!

So its time to GET OVER IT

And by the way! If I were you I would leave my personal preferences out of it!

Please put the crack pipe down and pick up a book about Dragons. I sat here at work and read this thread and can't believe that you would continue to post and make yourself look like such a dumb (part of body). If you are going to buy, breed, and sell a critter at least know your stuff about it.

Dan's posts have always been great and lead me to believe he is a good person with some good common reptile sense and knowledge. After reading your attempts at slamming Dan and everyone else who was trying to point out your obvious lack of knowledge and your lack of truly knowing what a 6 inch spoon looks like....I feel so much pity for that Dragon. I would never buy from you. Dan comes across as a more mature, much more informed individual, and you seem like you truly need a refill on your meds.
I hope you take a moment to educate yourself a bit better on Dragon husbandry and use this as a learning experience so none of your Dragons ever have to go through this again. No Breeder/Hobbyist is perfect. I'm not. I make mistakes, I have Leos missing tails (my most prized and waited for pair grabbed each others tail in their bin....I learned to keep them ALL singularly) but I ADMIT it. You can't publically try to slam a good guy for your mistakes!
This just has me all irriatated this morning....get of the gene pool please.
I will wish your Dragons the best of luck in thriving.

FYI, I had to respond when I saw all this "wonderful" feedback from DragonFlyReptile's Repibid account.

If you look at the feedback, there are positive feedbacks from Extremeexotics and Twherps (5 positive feedbacks total). Please note that Reptibid BUSTED DragonFlyReptiles a while back for having multiple user names (INCLUDING Extremeexotics and Twherps) and caught them leaving positive feedback for themselves. I can't speak for any of the rest of the feedback, but the feedback left from those 2 user ID's is bogus. They also had been bidding on thier own items using those names and running bids up to make more $$$. All of that can be verified by the Reptibid Admin (they verified it for me months ago when a transaction with between one of those user ID's and myself went bad a while back). I found it odd at the time that all 3 User ID's were using the same PayPal address and asked Reptibid about it, and they verified these user IDs were all the same people/persons/company.

I know it doesn't matter too much though, since this person has already been proven in this thread to be someone who others should use caution purchasing from or trading with.

Just thought eveyone might like to know the info I posted here regarding this person/people since this thread was about their/her bad business dealings.

i am a frequent seller on Reptibid and remember hearing about that stuff from other sellers and buyers ...i got to be good friends with the admins for Reptibid when i had troubles similar to what happened with the mutliuser id's and deadbeats ... when wendy posted all that feedback i knew immediatly that those feedbacks were from the auction site ...dam shame lowlifes like wendy need to help ruin our wonderful hobby/business its not like we have enough battles already with legalities but these scammers are just making it easierand easier for them to shut us down ...

If you look at the feedback, there are positive feedbacks from Extremeexotics and Twherps (5 positive feedbacks total). Please note that Reptibid BUSTED DragonFlyReptiles a while back for having multiple user names (INCLUDING Extremeexotics and Twherps) and caught them leaving positive feedback for themselves. I can't speak for any of the rest of the feedback, but the feedback left from those 2 user ID's is bogus. They also had been bidding on thier own items using those names and running bids up to make more $$$. All of that can be verified by the Reptibid Admin (they verified it for me months ago when a transaction with between one of those user ID's and myself went bad a while back). I found it odd at the time that all 3 User ID's were using the same PayPal address and asked Reptibid about it, and they verified these user IDs were all the same people/persons/company.

I know it doesn't matter too much though, since this person has already been proven in this thread to be someone who others should use caution purchasing from or trading with.

That is a FLAT OUT LIE! Those are not my accounts, the only one that is mine is Dragonflyreptile

If you had aproblem wiht one of the other people you mentioned you need to take it up with them since neither are my account.

TW herps and extreme exotics both made purchases from me then did resale for some of my reptiles and found it cheaper to have me ship them and have payment sent straight to me for puchases and received their commission after the payment was sent to me than to buy the reptile, ship to them then resale with shipping to them then to the customer causing prices to go out.
