In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Walked out to the living room to see this today. Been about 10 years since this stuff has happened here (we're in Southern California about an hour north of San Diego). We need laws against this type of perversion!!!!!

:(

LOL I agree! but alas there will be snow on the ground here within two or three weeks, and it'll stay for 5 months or so :(
And just last night I wasn't wearing my coat on the way to or back from the concert.

Ummm...... What's a "coat"?

We did two reptile shows this year. Those were the four days that I wore anything other than shorts this year :D

"Snow" is one of the worst of the four letter words!

Since I moved to north Florida, I haven't seen ANY snow at all to speak of. I remember one day about a half dozen snow flakes came falling out of the sky, but I shot them. :)

I really have no desire to see that white crap for the entire rest of my life.

LOL. Snow has its place. Outside, while I'm inside, on Christmas Eve and Christmas day only.

And coats are those things that you put on over sweatshirts to keep the snow from getting the other 40% of you wet and or cold.

ir snowed here last year first time i have seen snow in this area since 84. my husband (originally from new jersey... only been in texas 6 years) walks outside in a pair of boxer shorts and says is a very monotone and almost in disgust and says " oh, its snow great.. i could live the rest of my life without seeing it ever again" and walks back inside . when it gets cold for here maybe 30 he is out in shorts and a t-shirt and his sandles doing stuff out in the yard,, he says out there for hours and he never even gets a cold, doesnt ware a cap and his head is shaved... i just dont get it... if that was me i would have a cold and get all sick and what not.... crazy old man

It snowed december of 02 in austin, I remember clearly being the only one who knew how to drive on the ice lol. It was hysyterical!!!! Classes got cancelled because of maybe an inch of snow that had melted and iced over. If that happened up here, they'd call it thanksgiving or leap year and we'd have class, no sweat.

Classes??!!!????

How could anyone expect to learn anything with that trauma???!!???

I've already signed up for counseling to help me deal with our Deadly Sunday Blizzard!!!

One December, many moons ago, I had to go up to Montreal for the company I worked for. The most impressive thing I saw there were the cab drivers. They were driving on pure solid ice like it was nothing at all. Heck, I couldn't even WALK on the roads and they were driving like it was nothing to it.

LOL people are giving me weird looks in the library for laughing.

Walking on snow... funny thing. Ever seen that movie Cool Runnings? John Candy wasn't kidding when he said grip with your toes. The day it snowed, I saw the nonexistant traffic in Austin and I just HAD to go out. So I drag my roommate from Arizona out with me to the mall, we get to the parking garage, and she can't get across a large patch of ice across the entrance. I had to drag the poor girl across and resist the urge to stand there and laugh at her slipping on the ice struggling to stand up.

When I was a kid...

I lived in New York and for 5 months out of the year we didn't see the ranch across the street from us. My neighbor's mom used to put the fiberglass bike flags (now I'm dating myself) on the two kids so she could see them.

I'm not looking forward to the white stuff showing up anytime soon. I've got a 200 foot driveway and so does my 96 year old neighbor who I help out by clearing his as well.

It's funny that California (Texas too) has seen snow already but here in Ohio nothing yet. Though it is forecasted for tonight and tomorrow.

It's funny

We have differences of opinion on humor!

:D

There's reason for all my whining. I lived in Germany for three years and vowed never to live north of Los Angeles for rest of my life due to the snow. What a miserable 3 years (weather wise) that was.

Dont feel bad , Daniel, we still have snow on the ground from the great blizzard of 2004 out in Apple Valley. It did make or some good photos ops and got me off work for a day, so cant complain tooo much.

Hey, at least you didn't get 8 inches of lake effect snow lol. I'll post pictures as soon as I get my laptop back of what my parents' house looked like when I pulled in last night.

I truely believe snow is evil LOL, however seeing that i live in Southern Ontario Canada, its a normal, yet annoying part of life. I was hoping for a snow free birthday but alas it snowed yesterday and my birthday is tomorrow. The temps are still nice and nippy so theres no chance of it leaving anytime soon either.

Snow itself isn't as troublesome as ice. The recent snowfall came after it rained and than froze, so under the snow covered roads was a nice layer of ice. This is what causes me to become nervous. Back in 2000 i was driving to work when the truck in front of me slammed on his brakes. Someone up ahead was turning at the last minute and it was a chain reaction of everyone trying not to hit the person in front of them. Luckily i was already off the gas trying to get more space between me and the truck but thanks to the ice on the roads, my car didnt' want to stop. I avoided the truck ahead of me but landed my car in a ditch (so deep all you could see was the top of my car) after spinning around.

Even the cop on the scene was amazed i wasn't hurt and that my car didn't roll. I hit the ditch sideways and slid taking out a barbed wire fence and just missing a hydro poll.

Then with my new car LOL, last year in Feb. I was coming home from picking up two crested geckos when a snow plow came at me in MY lane. I avoided the plow by hitting the shoulder but ended up parking my car in a snow drift, backwards on its nose. No damage at all thankfully and once someone pulled me out of the snow i just drove home...a bit shaken but otherwise alright.

Winter is definetly fun up here in Canada LOL. My father is great too, he'll take me out where theres no one around and MAKE me put the car into a skid then instruct me get how to get it out without crashing. I'm alot more confident now and i make sure to always have a survival bag in the car incase i really get stuck where no one can help me.

Its sad, yes, but even if i won the lottery i wouldnt' trade it in for a snowfree climate. Nothing says Christmas like snow on the ground :)

Red (((the crazy gal LOL)))

Snow means that the state of Alabama shuts down. It also means i still have to drive on closed roads to get to work so APCO can get the supplies they need to fix the downed power lines caused by ice build up and fallen trees. :bandhead0
