In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is THIS?

The pictures are bad but she has red marks on her (looks brown in the photos). Any idea what may have happened? Did she rub against her corkbark hide? The earliest I could get her to a vet would be Monday. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hmmmm red eh'

Its probably nothing to worry about. Pieds occasionally have random black scales

id agree but its red...you sure its not a mite(sry have to ask) when they fill up they'll look red,is it hard like a scab or does it feel like a scale?

Just my opinion...it looks like a tick to me.

Is it bulging out from the other scales?

It's common for ticks to make their way into warm, comfy places like a ball pythons viv so don't worry.

That would be one huge mite if it was a mite. But then again most parisites feed until they get quite large. Mites are red when they get big. Some of em will pop if you rub with a piece of tissue. I would rub her with clean tissue and see if there are any red smears or black specks on it. If there is then its mites.

They are not ticks. They are random black scales.
I was talking about what was on the dorsal area.
Albey was able to identify it. They sometimes get the red on the dorsal area before a shed.
These are the random scales.

Never knew some pieds get the red on the dorsal area in the white. Similiar to how normal colored ones get a pink belly.
Albey posted pics in another forum (much better than mine :yesnod:) and it was just what I was trying to get an answer on.

That is not common and if someone ever sent me a snake with ticks, I would rip their :censored: head off.
Ticks come in on WC animals.

Agreed. The ticks WC animals come in with, and our native ticks are not the same animal. If you've actually managed to get yourself a tick infestation on CB animals, you got bigger problems. lol

That's an interesting find Steve. I've seen brown lines from fingerpainting in poo, but never noticed any pink. Makes sense though.

...

I've never found ticks on my animals which is kind of shocking seeming as where I live...I live on the west coast in a wooded area.

I guess it isn't common on the east coast from what I've heard. :yesnod:

Ticks on snakes come from the wild. Take ball pythons for example. The ticks would come in on a wild caught animal taken from the bush. If these ticks showed up on a captive bred snake, then that would mean horrible QT practices. WC animals are housed either too close or with CB animals.

Albey was correct. She is now in blue.
I'm not too familiar with the all white so I never knew that the red on the top signals the start of a shed. Learn something new everyday.
