In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

what would cause this beware its sad

balls

kinda but not 100% , didnt even think of it . i assumed or should i say trusted that everything was legit. very valid point indeed!

Get the body back and get a necropsy.

That lump partway down the body is NOT in the stomach, though. So if it was fed/forcefed.... id be asking what, and why.

Yep. If the lump in the throat is several day digested regurgitation, the snake was probably already hurting when you sold it.
If it's undigested, I would think the buyer force-fed it a much too large rodent.

From the events, it seems like you are saying the buyer sent you a picture of the sick snake? The picture I see is a dead snake.
When you get it back, carefully slice the "lump" area open and post several pictures so we can help determine a timeline if it is a regurge, or take it to a vet if you can.

I had something similar to that happen to one of my small BPs years ago. I fed it, and a few days later a large lump appeared, then the next morning the lump was all the way to it's throat, the entire lower portion of the snake looked completely empty (the belly skin was collapsed all the way up completely down the snake after the lump), and it was dead.

Never did figure out what caused it. I was about 16 at the time. I put it in the freezer hoping to bring it to a vet, but my mom seen it in there and threw it away when I wasn't home.

Totally agree! snake should not feel cool in a 90 degree enclosure. Perhaps his heat is waaay off too.

So sorry for the loss either way.

ball

actually today i got the snake, i cut it open and found nothing ,lumps in the photo were gone . i didnt photo it because it was foul and i wanted to get it gone asap so i could at least eat dinner later tonight(barf).there was no mouse, no substrate nothing. i could have taken it to the vet but that costs more than i was willing to spend. the buyer and i will work something out i guess. we are both civil so that helps.

thanks everyone for you help and advise on this issue.if it wasnt for the advise i would have sent the guy a check that same day.i hope i never see anything like it again.j

What does the guy say about the lumps that have mysteriously disappeared?

They may not be that mysterious.

It's unusual to see if there isn't something blocking the throat but the gasses associated with decomposition can result in some swelling and distended proportions postmortem, especially in warm environments. And pre-mortem if there's something really unpleasant going on (generally in the digestive tract).

The swelling can reduce over time or, if you actually cut them open- the only result is a horrible stench and some organs looking more liquid than is healthy.

Agreed, but the lumps appeared in the span of a day, presumably. Decomposition shouldn't be that advanced in 24 hours (24 hours is generous, who here doesn't check on a brand new snake in less time than that?).

I would be highly suspicious. It may be gas, but that's awfully quick. If it were a days-old regurge that blocked up the throat, it wouldn't mysteriously disappear.

I'm a paranoid guy, however. There are legitimate things it could be, but I'd be very suspicious of the circumstance.
