Chris...as far as I have seen (and I could be wrong)...a blazing blizzard has to have red eyes...
Justyn...That actually makes sense (blizzard and giant on the same chromosome)..I hadn't thought of that... The mutations would have occured separately and so blizzard would be linked with the normal "giant" allele, and giant would be linked with the normal "blizzard" allele. Which would mean when crossing the two the offspring would be het...however it would be very difficult for the alleles to independantly assort and so the second generation would be mostly hets.
The only thing I have to say about your explanation is that the GENES are all on the same chromosome...however the ALLELES are different...so the recessive alleles of each of the traits are associated with the dominant alleles for all of the remaining alleles on the chromosome.
Out of curiousity (this isn't at all related to the original topic of the thread...lol) does anyone know if its possible that the bell and tremper strains are both the same gene but with different mutations that cause different appearances?...That thought just occured to me...I know that its HIGHLY unlikely...but I dunno...
