To me all these things suggest that evolution is not fiction, but fact.

I think you (along with evolutionists) are confused by terminology. Most of your "points" you are trying to prove your theory with is not evolution but rather it is adaptation.

adaptation is undergone by individuals...evolution is undergone by species. Individuals adapt to suit their environment, species evolve.

Evolution is a very real, very true, proven scientific fact. To say that evolution does not exist is to say that gravity does not exist. Now whether you choose to believe that man evolved from lower primates or not is up to you. The evidence is there, but it has not been proven, so this can be "logically" disputed. When the "theory of evolution" is talked about, it is not in reference to evolution as a whole. It is a theory of the origin of man. So to say that evolution as a whole is just a theory is not a valid argument. I think that evolutionists and creationists alike should really check out this site- http://talkorigins.org -It has answers to alot of misunderstandings about evolution. One should not reject all science because one scientific theory conflicts with ones faith.

There is no such thing as a scientific fact...things can ONLY be proven to be UNTRUE...you cannot prove that something is true...only that it is likely. I am a firm believer in evolution...but the "theory of evolution" IS referring to evolution as a whole...not just to the origins of man. Technically even gravity isn't fact. Now I am a firm believer in evolution...however part of science is knowing that nothing can technically be proven as fact.

I am willing to admit that you know more than me about science. But I am standing by evolution is as true as gravity. and that creationists should not disregard evolution as a whole because they don't agree with evolution being an explanation for the origins of man. I guess i shoulda said that in the first place. thanx for setting me straight. http://talkorigins.org

This debate over evolution made me take a look at something. The bible states that god created cows and all mammals, BUT fails to mention anything about the million years of evolution before man. Now if god created earth and everything around it, he would have created dinosaurs. No mention of that, because no one knew at the time of any prehistoric creatures. Less than 600 years ago, did anyone disprove the myth the world was flat, think about it.....

Not to mention that its a fact that early man was not capable of speech. YET the bible clearly is off on a whim with talking snakes and talking people. If adam and eve, were the first people on earth, then they must have been really busy. First man and woman, would not have been able to speak or understand language. AGAIN, think about this rationally.... For anyone to believe the bible is to believe god put a full grown man and woman on this earth 200,000+ years ago (one of the oldest human species skulls dates back that far and believed not to be the oldest either..) on top of that capable of speaking a language of roman times......

Whats really hard to swallow is how somone documented the first man and woman, Yet fails to mention hundreds of thousands of years of history afterwards.......

According to the bible
A. America did not exist (read the first 3 chapters of genesis, only the mention of european rivers that "god" created, no mention of the great rivers or bodies of water west of europe.)
B. We were made by a invisible superbeing, That only the fanatics see......
C. The heavens, were just lights..... Which has now been disproven. As scince proves they possible suns for thousands of different solar systems. (we already found one whole independant solar system already)
D. Dinosaurs roamed the earth prior to man, this is fact. Most kids in this century know this by the time they are 5. Yet again, the bible never documented a BIG step in history. The birth of the dinosaurs, the reign of the dinosaurs and the total devastation of the dinosaurs. No ice age and no polar ice caps either, as the bible says its all water.
E. Plants and vegetation came to earth, before god said "let there be light" which to anyone who knows about photosynthesis will call that a crock.....
F. IT took one week for god to create all living things and all that we see. Which again is proven wrong.
G. Man orginated in mesapa

The bible's beginning part (genesis) was taken from hebrew scriptures. Creation of man. This shows that they are relying on old knowledge passed up from other religions.

Though i hate arguing about this stuff, because its a touchy subject with alot of people. For me its hard to believe a book written at a unknown time about all this stuff. Most of it shows the ignorance, that we had once thought about how we came to be. Until the hebrew scriptures came out all we had was the question "who made us and where did we come from". Many other cultures had their own idea's and gods as well, at that time. Heck why did you think Christ died for? Because his views were not that of the jewish religion.

One thing that alot of creationist fail to see, The church and others will always turn a blind eye to the truth. If once evolution can be proven, there would be no more churches and alot of other things. The church is a worldwide billion dollar a year industry. Its like trying to attack microsoft saying windows is faulty. Neither one will admit to the truth or even bother to question it. Anyone who does is seen as enemy trying to disband them.. When questions arrive they are answered vaugly and thats it, no other thought about that. Questions like, "How can god see me all the time?" are answered so lame it should not count as a answer. How really can some all mighty "god" who looks down from the "heavens" view every human being world wide 24/7 reguardless if there is a house in the way of the view. Surprisgly thousands of people believe this, without one question. It was almost like the thousands that believed george bush, when he claimed iraq had nukes and tons of chemical weapons. Even now after its been proven a lie, there are still some that expect a hidden cache to appear, to prove bush right. The same would happen to religion, if the evolution was proven a fact.

In my opinion the bible is a collection of stories, with a guideline to live a guilt free life and to self-police yourself. What better way to make people behave, if they think a invisible camera behind him no matter what they do. If you have the "you only live once, so why not do it?" attitude, it will make you think twice about it. You act bad you face an afterlife of hell, you act good and you get an afterlife in heaven. You cannot prove wether heaven, god or hell truely exist, until you die...

Also Gene, We as humans can adapt to anything, but we also do not have any body changes because of it. Unlike animals that lost or grew wings, legs and other things. It is a proven fact that a certain fish eventually grew fin like legs and over time was able to swim onto land and crawl and breath oxygen. A old relative from the dinosaur ages still exist in the deep blue see. This was to be believed the start of the evolution of smaller animals reptiles and birds, because they have scales and overlapping feathers similar to a fish. This stuff is not fantasy, but reality.

Sorry, for such a long post.

Errr....
G. man originated in Mesopotamia according to the bible. which has been proven that man came from southern africa, but more than likely australia.

Also, Does anyone know of a site about evolution THAT is not from a creationist standpoint, thats all about de-bunking evolution? I found 20 sites like that, but none really talking about true evolution.

mike, i think you should re-read the entire bible, SLOWLY this time, there are many points you have missed that i will state if you would like me to

dan, i do not read the bible. i took a look at the first section of the bible on a website. Which is the same exact section that comes from the bible, that i linked to, which is the creation of earth and man. I was using it as a point, as it's the bible's way on explaining on how everything came to be. Which is suposed to be why evolution was not possible, the main part of this off topic thread. If i am wrong about something, it is because i dont read the bible or anything else religious for that matter.

If you are referring to the part where i said "in my opinion", thats basically what it was, my opinion. I will not waste my time to read a bible from front to back to see what all it has to say. I'm shure there are things i probably am over looking and i probably should not have even stated my opinion in that prior post as i know i would anger some people.

Either way, if i offended anyone i'm sorry that was not my intention.

If i am missing a point dan, please point it out.

how do you know the first people couldnt speak? you watch to many movies of cave man running around saying ooga booga
It was well known that early man was a brutal being. Don't believe me? look at ancient South american cannibal tribes. They are the most oldest unchanged group of people in the world. They are also brutal people, who will attack someone, who are not their kind. These people are exisiting still, So would you think that early man was calm and nice like the bible made them out to be?

Also how can you speak a language that has not been taught? It was not like the first man and woman could speak greek or other languages..... How would they know what a tree was? let alone what to exaclty name it. They would have to walk around all day pointing at things and making some sort of sound to let the other know what they mean.

If you were born and put on a abandoned island as a 6 month old infant and surived there with no one else. What language would you speak as an adult? NONE. My point exaclty...... Let alone Trying to comprehend why the bible mentions a snake, a being THAT anyone of you reptile owners knows does not talk. speaking the same language as god, adam and eve, since those 3 lucky people would be the only ones to speak whatever language it would be.

When was the last time one of your snakes said "Hey WhatsSSSssSS up?" Did not think so.

The sad part is that anyone of us americans in this age, (2,000 years later after jesus) tell stories about talking snakes and talking burning bush's we would be in a psych ward. Heck, the son of Sam claimed his dog talked to him and look how he turned out..

I will no longer reply to comments on this thread, since i have been posting off topic for a while now.

I will leave this thread with this great quote from Plato.
The rare individual escapes the limitations of that cave and, through a long, tortuous intellectual journey, discovers a higher realm, a true reality, with a final, almost mystical awareness of Goodness as the origin of everything that exists.

A miracle!

The other day I saw with my own eyes, This man walk on water!!! Thats right he was walking on water, moving along slowly sort of shuffling along! It was amazing! He was carring a bucket and some other stuff!...you should have seen it!

Oh...and I forgot to add! he then put the bucket down on the water, sat on it and proceeded to drill a hole in the water and fish!!! can you believe that? Unreal!...the guy must be crazy...damm it was cold!...... :raspberry
