• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i want to leave feed back for the people i have purchased from recently. but i have to pay at least 25$ to be a contributing member to be able to leave a feed back.... why .. why cant it be free to be able to leave a feed back score for some one.

also, why is there a "good buy" or "great guy" section

why cant we easily leave feed back, and post up threads pertaining to good transactions on this forum?

Really, having it setup to where only paid members can leave feedback, helps to stop some abuse of the feedback system.

However, you can post on someone's Good Guy thread, or you can start a Good Guy thread for someone if they don't have one already.

The BOI is where you can leave comments on how your transaction with someone went, both good, and bad. As for the feedback feature, if non paying members could leave feedback, anyone could create fake names, and accounts, and leave thmeselves bogus feedback. So, if you want to leave feedback, fork over the 25 bucks, unterwise you are more then welcome to post in the BOI.

well i understand about the multiple user name issue . and the abuse of unpaid members.

though i dont really know what boi stands for. and i didnt realize it was there untill called to my attention

go figure. the feedback section is not for feedback of people, but the forum. and what ever boi means, is for leaving feed back for sales .

i guess this forum has so much to offer, that trying to find things is sometimes difficult.

yeah. i see there is 2 sections now...

one is strict, the other is open. go figure. theres so many dif sub forums , this site is pretty complex.

But there is a difference between the way the black and white way the traders ratings operate compared to the more free form Board Of Inquiry. With the traders ratings, there is no opportunity for the member to whom the rating is being applied to respond to any negative feedback left there. Pretty much anyone can leave feedback there with no way for it to be questioned. Someone can simply leave a negative rating with a comment like "Seller sent me mite infested animals that all died", and that is that. You can't even comment about that claim.

The Board Of Inquiry, however, puts everyone who posts there under the spotlight and can be cross examined by ANYONE who cares to do so. It is not at all unusual for someone posting completely bogus claims to be raked over the coals for doing so, and have their own credibility suffer because of it. Members here CAN get to the truth with the open structure of the BOI allowing free discourse to try to get to the bottom of claims made.

So with those facts in mind, it seemed prudent to more tightly restrict a feedback method that could obviously be abused quite severely without some sort of control in place.

To give you an example, someone could create 10 different registrations here and slam your traders ratings feedback with 10 negative ratings. What could you do about it? Not a thing. But I would bet you would be coming to me asking ME to do something about it. Now if that same person goes to the BOI and posts something negative, YOU can post a rebuttal, as well as ask for some sort of proof of the allegations. Others will join in, and if such proof is not forthcoming, the thread in the BOI about you will show the falseness of the claims based on the evidence that is NOT shown.

So yes, everything can be subjected to abuse, but I am trying to put in safeguards where possible to limit such abuse as much as is possible to do, under the circumstances...
