Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

updates: Julie: out on bail and restatution....she's all done
Adam: he is serving his time in the Genesee county jail and he needs a certain amount of money or he will not be trialed until November of 08 and I am not sure about the other man. I think he is out on bail and restatution.. the only one serving time is Adam
To be out on bail is to put money up to secure the defendants appearance at trial. You can't be out on bail and be done. Do you mean that these people have been ordered to make restitution to the victims? What do you mean that Adam needs a certain amount of money or he will not be "trialed"? Not to be smart but nothing said in this post makes any sense to me. Can you clarify what you mean to convey in this post?

Hi all. This is Mark with Animal Magic. I'm one of the people these losers stole from. Julie hasn't paid back one penny (restitution) that was part of her sentence. Neither has Adam or Josh. I hope these three rot in jail for what they did to my animals and my family. My oldest daughter is now afraid to go outside at night becasue of what these creeps did. They not only came onto my property to steal.....they did it at least three times that we know of and the last time my two daughters were camping outside in a tent. What would have happened had these fools stumbled across my kids in the dark?? They are lucky I didn't catch them on my property or they would have been removed in body bags. To mess with my animals and my livelyhood is one thing but to mess with my family is something on a different level!

To the person who has been saying they are related and keeps defending them.....please grow up and think before you write. You stated that these are good people who made ONE mistake and that they should be given a break. After interviewing numerous people that grew up with Adam and Julie, I found out that they have been lying, cheating and stealing from people and businesses almost their whole lives. I guess they were so good at it that this is just the first time they got busted. You wouldn't believe what I found out that Julie did at her previous job that got her fired. I don't want to say here for fear of retribution to one of the business owners.

As for these low lifes not harming the animals...they CONFESSED that some of the animals died in their care. I personally recovered 69 stolen animals from across the country when I went with the police to serve the search warrents. Every one of the mammnals had fleas and many of the reptiles were on their death beds. My wallaby ended up dying. Please don't speak about things you know nothing about!

For those of you who want to help with our non-profit exotic animal rescue, please feel free to check us out at www.iwantanimalmagic.com

Thanks for your continued support and encouragement.

Sincerely,

Mark (Animal Magic)

Mark ...

Thank you for the update and reminder.

I actually can't believe that klocke09 (the cousin of Adam, if I recall correctly), returned and posted her own idiotic update of those felon animal thieves and killers.
Obviously intelligence, honor, respect and common sense are seriously lacking in at least 4 members of the Locke/Roberts families.

Personally, I am all for bringing back public stonings. I think these three would be perfect candidates.

Public stoning would be too good a fate for these scumbags.. let them suffer the way the made all of these families, businesses, and above all the animals that suffered and died in their "care"

Bobby, where do you see Mark advertising on KS?

Adoptables
Proceeds from adopted animals are returned to the rescue program. The funds allow us
to continue helping animal control, police departments and private citizens in the safe
removal of exotics from the community.
It also serves to provide food, shelter and
veterinary care for rescued animals.
12 Year old female Blue & Gold Macaw—”Sweetie” has laid eggs before, ONLY likes men….no
women or kids! Her life span is 80-100 years and she is looking for a forever home. Talks a ton
and loves to shower with you and play. Only $875 adoption fee.
13 Year old female Mollucan cockatoo—”Sugar” is a real sweetheart. She will go to anyone and
she isn’t a screamer like most mollucans. Her life span is 80-100 years and she is looking for a
forever home. She talks a lot. Only $975 adoption fee.
3 Year old female Sulphur Crested cockatoo-”Marshmallow” is a real sweetheart. She will go to
anyone (once she gets to know them) and she isn’t a screamer like most cockatoos. She talks a
lot and really deserves a good, forever home. For those of you “oldies” like me, this is the kind of
bird that Baretta had (“Fred”). Only $875 adoption fee.
Adult albino banded California kingsnake-This beautiful snake can be held by anyone and it eats
live or frozen adult mice. This is an extremely impressive snake! Only $125 adoption fee.
8’+ Forest Cobra-Extremely deadly snake, would make a great pet for families with small children
or other small pets. Only $1 adoption fee. OK, This is a joke….just wanted to see how many people
read this page!
2 year old female sugar glider-”Honey” was hand fed and then the owner couldn’t care for her
anymore. These are not just for anyone, they are nocturnal and they need fresh fruits everyday.
Only $125 adoption fee.
Adult chocolate banded California kingsnake-This beautiful snake can be held by anyone and it
eats live or frozen adult mice. Only $95 adoption fee.
Young albino cornsnake -This beautiful snake can be held by anyone and it eats live or frozen
mice. This is an extremely impressive snake and would make a great pet for a child (they only
grow to about 5 feet in length). Only $55 adoption fee.
Adult albino cornsnake -This beautiful snake can be held by anyone and it eats live or frozen adult
mice. This is an extremely impressive snake (lots of white). Only $95 adoption fee.
Adult chocolate aberrant California kingsnake-This beautiful snake can be held by anyone and it
eats live or frozen adult mice. This would make a great pet for a teenager. Only $85 adoption fee.
Pair of adult rainbow lizards-These awesome, friendly lizards are native to Africa and they eat
insects, canned dog food and small mice (not required, but they like them). Uncommon. Only $60
adoption fee for the pair.
Unusual Baby Boas– These baby boas were born at our sanctuary on July 14th. It was an
unintentional breeding and these could turn out to be very rare, colorful snakes...we won’t know
for awhile. The mom is a beautiful Columbian Red-tail boa but we don’t know who the dad is. We
have 5 male boas in the same cage with mom and the dad could be a Dumeril’s Boa, a Surinam
Red-Tail boa, a Guyana red-tail boa or a Melanogaster boa (very rare darker boa). These babies
are extremely friendly and ready for new homes. These make wonderful pets and they are the
perfect medium sized snake. Males max out at about 9 feet and females about 11. These would
retail for at least $200 each but we are only asking an adoption fee of $95 each .
3-4’ Turquoise Iguana-”Iggy” was abandoned in a drug house and needs a good home. She is very
colorful and is extremely fat and healthy. Iguanas are not good pets for everyone...they grow to 7
feet and they need fresh veggies every day. Only $45 adoption fee.
5’ Iguana-”Spike” was brought to us because his owners could no longer care for him. He was in
really bad shape when we got him, very skinny and lethargic. He is doing fine now and he is
extremely friendly. He really needs a forever home. Iguanas are not good pets for everyone...they
grow to 7 feet and they need fresh veggies every day. Only $65 adoption fee.
Assorted turtles-We have numerous turtles that were either abandoned or given to us. None of
them are native to Michigan and they would all do well in outdoor ponds (they need to be housed
indoors during the winter) or in aquariums. We have sizes ranging from about 4 inches to some
that are OVER 1 foot!
Adoption fee –Small ones (4-7 inches) Only $5 Large ones (8 inches and up) Only $12
Adult Male Hermans Tortoise—These unusual tortoises only grow to about 5-6 inches and they
make wonderful pets. They are outgoing and this one has been with us for over 3 years. He eats
everything and is really easy to care for. He has been housed with our female Russians tortoise
and they get along great. We would prefer to keep them together. Only $95 adoption fee.
Adult Female Russian Tortoise—These remarkable tortoises only grow to about 5-6 inches and
they make wonderful pets. Female Russians are hard to find and this girl is absolutely gorgeous!
They are outgoing and she has been with us for over 2 years. She eats everything and is really
easy to care for. She has been housed with our male Hermans tortoise and they get along great.
We would prefer to keep them together. Only $125 adoption fee.
Adopt both of the above tortoises and the adoption fee will only be $175 for both! They seem to
really like each other and we would hate to separate them.
3 Adult Ball Pythons-These medium sized snakes are native to Africa and these were all captive
bred. They are all eating frozen (thawed) mice and they only grow to about 4-5 feet. Only $50
adoption fee.

He also says:
To mess with my animals and my livelyhood is one thing but to mess with my family is something on a different level!

So how could this be his livelyhood if he is a non-profit rescue?

Many exotic animals are dangerous and require special care. Our
Haven program has provided assistance to animal related agencies all
over southeastern Michigan. We will assume responsibility for the
organization. Additionally, you may contact us for assistance in the
removal of an exotic animal. Any animals rescued by our organization
will be well cared for in our USDA licensed facility and used in our
educational shows. In some instances, animals will be placed in other
licensed and appropriate facilities such as zoos or other educational
programs. Exotic birds, reptiles, small mammals (including primates)
and amphibians have all been cared for by our organization.

I guess he left off the part about sold on KS.

Nice catch Bobby..but you should be aware that this news isn't going to go over very well with some of the cry babies around here. Some folks are getting very annoyed that the good guys are being jumped on and made out to be the bad guys.

Perhaps he has two aspects to his business, the rescue/educational part and a verified sales outlet. (??) :shrug01:

If he does I bet it's heck come tax time...

I have come to the conclusion that I don't know anyone or anything anymore...

Chuck, you just call it like you see it, and to tell the truth, that's looking quite refreshing the more I stick around here! :D

It really sucks when it gets to that point, doesn't it? I say we whack them all and let God sort them out. More reptiles for us!

No, there is no business for sales, he claims to be a non-profit rescue, and non-profit educational outfit. However, in this thread, in his own words says it is his livelyhood.

I am a tegu breeder, anyone care to donate to my livelyhood? :ack2:

I have no clue who this Bobby character is from Varnyard Herps but I just called him to see why he is bad mouthing me and saying I don't have a legit rescue. He kept yelling at me and accusing me of making money off these animals which has NEVER been the case. We adopt out "pets", not dangerous animals. When we rescue dangerous or illegal animals (we work with many police agencies), we either keep them for our educational shows or send them off to licensed zoos. We NEVER adopt them out to private owners. We never accept any money for our services......the gas, the wear and tear on our vehicles, our time, our clothes (that usually get ruined), etc.

Just last week during dinner the local police called me regarding a swan with a fish hook in it's neck. I threw the rest of my dinner away and immediately drove to the Crosswinds Marsh where the police and the Airport Authorities were waiting for me. My wife and I spent over two hours (until dark) trying to catch this swan. I even took off my clothes (down to my underwear) and swam for about 45 minutes trying to catch this swan with no luck. I ended up reeking from the muck (as did my van), my clothes were ruined and I ended up with the worst case of swimmer's itch you have ever seen. Of course, I didn't get paid a penny for any of this and I had to use my own money for the doctor's bill and the prescription. No problem...it's what I choose to do.

When we adopt out rescues that are deemed "pets", we charge an adoption fee (as does most animal shelters, rescues, humane societies, etc.). We use that adoption fee to help us cover our costs incurred with all these animals: Their housing, heating (especially in the winter, they all are housed indoors), their food (about $800 per week, the majority of which comes out of our own pockets!), bedding, etc.

I don't appreciate being called a liar and I really don't like being accused of not being legit, especially by someone who knows nothing about me or what I do. I just wanted to set the record straight since I don't know who put him on a soap box or who gave him the right to speak badly of me. I'm the one who was robbed, some of my animals ended up dying, I was put through hell, my kids will never be the same and this guy thinks he has the right to start bad mouthing me. My reputation speaks for itself....I actually had three different kids send me emails last week calling me their hero. That is probably the nicest thing anyone could ever say about someone else and I'm pretty sure Billy has never had that said about him.

I went on his web site just to see who he is and there are quite a few things I could rip him apart for but I won't stoop to his level.

Once again, I want to personally thank everyone for their support through this rough time. As far as I know, the thieves are now out on probation and are not allowed to have any contact with animals.

Sincerely,

Mark

Mark, your words is what this is based on. Why not get a job? You do not work and claim this is your livelyhood, so do tell me why this is anything any different then any other animal flipper? Is it because you say it is non-profit? Or maybe because you call it adoption fees?

You bet I was not nice to you, your kind turns my stomach.

Whoa...wait just a damn second here. Are you saying that $875.00 is a FAIR adoption fee for a 12 year old Blue & Gold Macaw? Are you crazy calling that an adoption fee?

I just purchased a baby blue & gold for $650.00 from a local aviary this past June. The prices do range a bit between $600 - $1000, I wont deny that, but saying $875.00 is an adoption fee....come on...that is pretty FU.

All those animals in that list Bobby posted are retail prices for christ sake.

Adoption fees

I adopted out one of our Blue & Golds about three weeks ago for only $275 to a lady in South Dakota (she had to pay the shiping also). We don't expect to get what we are asking....our main priority is that these animals get in appropriate homes. There are two pet shops by me selling blue & golds for $2000 so don't tell me my fee was unrealistic. Prices on birds vary throuout the country and we try to get what we can to keep our rescue going. EVERY penny received from these animals goes right back into the rescue....EVERY PENNY!!!!

Again, someone speaking without knowing what they are talking about.

I really appreciate being attacked by people who don't know me or what I do. These animals are my life and I would do almost anything for them.

I don't have the time to sit here like some of you because I have critters to clean, feed and water, as well as a family to look after.

You sit on your soap boxes with nothing better to do so have fun. I won't be responding anymore...I've said all I need to

I know Mark very well...been to his house many times....seen his animals many times...adoption fees aside....he is legit...as are the fees
He sells tarantulas from time to time and ALL funds received go to his rescue.
Any extra I am sure is for his family to survive.
Attacking him is pointless and just plain stupid.... Let me tell you all something...it was Mark that helped put the asses in jail and care for the animals that were taken....It was Mark that made sure the toucans went to the rightful owners in Florida...It was Mark that made sure the petshops got the animals back that were stolen....it was Mark that adopted out many of these animals free of charge to caring pet owners....got it....good
So before any of you schmucks attack him look at your own for profit ONLY business and ask your self this....how big are the horns holding up your halo's
There are very few and I mean few that totally enjoy and love the animals they keep...he is definately one of them and has the utmost respect of the community and local law enforcement.

Go ahead throw more stones...make yourself look big
