In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had ordered a rat rack from www.tierneyreptiles.com (Terrell Tierney) for $225 plus sales tax. The sales tax seemed funny but it was not that much so I order the rat rack. At this point, the customer service communication was great. The rat rack comes partially built so I thought” sweet.” In four days, I got two boxes of wood, some concrete mixing tubs, screws and instructions. I started removing the pieces for the rat rack out of the boxes; this is when I began to notice problems. Boards with screws in already had not been predrilled so the boards had cracked. This was for the most part on the racks where the food would go on. All of the 1x4s for the legs are warped.

I decided to do what I could and try to assemble what I received. After assembling ¼ of it, I decided there is no way this even work just a little bit. Therefore, I contacted the seller and told him everything. He then went on to tell me he has sold many of these, there is no way this is possible, and he could send me comments and compliments he has received in the past for proof of good service. I sent him a picture of one of the warped boards and he said, “I can send you $2 for that board.” The other thing he told me was the boards were wet when shipped.

I finally now decided I would settle for just something at least just because I want to get this together and in use. I bought this product to use not sit and look at or hide in this case because of how bad it is and unable to finish. I asked him for $100 for replacement pieces and my time because I should not have to do this because this is what I paid for. I ask if I could send back the product and he told me “NO” to that. My final offer was $75 and that was a “NO”.

Today was the last of any contact with him and as of now, I want full refund back. If I get the full refund, I will send it back.

Can you post pictures of the materials and the damage? And do you have e-mails showing the discussions between the two of you?

...he could send me comments and compliments he has received in the past...

This kind of stuff just makes me shake my head. As if previous comments and compliments are suddenly going to make the boards uncrack and unwarp or will put money in your pocket to replace them.

pictures can be added with photo bucket right

Yes, just copy the

her is few photos sorry if they suck but there from my cell phone :D

conversation between him and my wife thru pay-pal

I received the item from the seller today. I opened up the box and two boards were cracked. After removing the items from the box, I noticed other boards being warped. I also noticed the boards were cracked because they were not predrilled. I started to assemble the item even though the boards were warped. I was only able to assemble part of it due to how bad they are warped. I than contacted the seller and we exchanged some emails and I presented him with an offer. The seller had several excuses. The offer was I would keep it but to have him reimburse me $100 and I would get the pieces to fix everything that needed to be fixed along with my time to fix it and take apart what I already have tried to put together. This is something that should not have to be done. After several hours of nothing I decided to try another time, I tried one last offer. No less than $75 or I will send it back for a full refund. I still have yet to hear back from the seller so I thought I would go this route.

terrell tierney denied jamie prechel's request for a $100.00 USD refund.

Not to sure why you would like a refund. This Rat rack is a home made simple rack that works great.

It is not an issue of the product it is an issue of the material that is used to build it.

Another thing. I pre dripped all of the screws. everylast one of them. It is wood and like i said it may have been a little damp from the lumber yard and it must have warpped when sitting for a week while being shipped. I have made and sold alot of these rat racks. I can send you many complements that i have gotten from these racks as well. im not to sure what you were expecting out of this. Its a cheap simple wooden rack desgned to breed rats. Not a piece of furniture to sit in your living room.

What I expected for $225 is something from someone that took pride in what they build. Not someone that takes advantage of someone looking for a little help using cheap products. If you had predrilled the screw holes, there would not have been cracks. I have built a few things in my days and have always predrilled. The only reason I purchased this from you is because it looked like a good deal and I was unsure about how to go about building one myself. I guess looks are deceiving because what I received is nothing like that I saw on your website. I did the best to assemble this but all of the legs are warpped which is causing assembling to be difficult . So because of the poor quality of wood I have nothing but a pile of wood now.

Theres nothing i can do about wood that got worped while being shipped. like i said many times, the wood was just fine when i packed it all up. and it was first 2 legs that was worped now its all?? interesting. The assembly of this rack is based on the buyer not the seller. Bottem line i can give you the money to buy 2 new legs. What I offer the first time. Not going to refund the entire cost of matierals for a brand new rack. end of discussion

Wow! Talk about a bowed leg! O_O that thing is horrible. Are the dents from you or were they on the wood when you got it?

Jon, if you haven't already, be sure to e-mail the seller and link him to this thread so he can come speak for himself should he choose to do so. :)

worped? wtf? Jon, I may be a bit premature here, but I think you got hosed. The assembly is based on the buyer? What happened to the instructions, pre-drilled holes, etc. from his website? I'd love to see him come on here and defend that trash he sent you. I JUST yesterday bought a bunch of 1x1's, 1x2's, 2x2's, etc. for a chicken coop; none of them look like what he sent you.

Again, a bit premature, but his correspondence and website errors raise a lot of red flags to me....he seems to be pretty much a scammer to me. I think you should dispute the Paypal.

Honestly, that looks like it was used before sent to you. Almost like it was used outside? If you can get better quality pics it would help :)

Tyler might be onto something....Tierney's website says the rat racks are sold out. Also, he has a TH Moonglow yearling listed for $1,000. That's just a bit high.....

I will say it was not used but I can tell if he does this as business he should haved used better wood

Please forgive my spelling and grammar

That threw up a red flag to me as well.
When the seller is notified of the problem he instantly wants to put the blame on the buyer because of the assembly. What does it matter how it was assembled if the parts were damaged to begin with? That's BS.
