In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a heads up, I bought a female citrus bearded dragon from Zach this week. She arrived Tuesday... And the nightmare began. He had her listed as a Shy eater.... Yeah... try half starved to death. He said in his post that she was from a specific breeder. So I contacted the man and asked for any info about this dragon. He said she was born in a clutch at the end of August '09. She is 8 months old. She is less than 12 inches long and weighs 64g. I contacted Zach and said something was wrong and he said basically that it is my problem. I took her to the vet. She has 2 PARASITES and an infection. I have her on three meds and I am hand feeding her from a syringe. She is not shy. She is a very friendly dragon who was no fed nor taken care of. She had a very foul odor when we pulled her out of the box. We thought it was because she pooed in transit. We have bathed her and she still has it... It is from the infection. The fact that we have only been taking care of Dragons for a short time but we would have never shipped a dragon that close to death. He called her outwardly healthy! If he had posted pictures of her in her current state we never would have bought her. But, now that we have her and see how she was treated we do not want to send her back. It's more than a bummer that we have already racked up vet bills nearly equal to her purchase price just to save her. I can't imagine how he keeps animals! I would suggest no one buy any from him or send him any unless you want them Dead. We asked for our money back to help cover the vet bills. And he refused and called her outwardly healthy...
Mind you she is 8 months old. Which I was not aware of until I spoke to the breeder. This is the picture we took of her.

We offered to let him keep the price for shipping. He needs to refund us our money. This dragon has been sick for quite some time. You can search the forums on here and see where he asked for advice about her. I also see that this is not the first time he has had problems shipping sick and dieing animals.... Kevin & Jessica :(

Who posted the thread? Might wanna say who wrote it with your full name.

Also, do you have any email? PMs? Id like for the proof of him claiming its healthy to be out there, and also scan and post your vet bills.

It would be helpful if you could post those links to where he was asking for advice as well. The one in your hand is definitly not "outwardly healthy" if its 8 mos old. I've only kept beardies for a short time and I know this.

I thought Zach was getting out of herps? :shrug01:

Sorry to hear your little gal has problems. Hopefully something can be worked out.

STRIKE TWO FOR MR. ASHWOOD!

I knew it was only a matter of time before we heard more bad news about Zack Ashwood.. Zack seems to have a problem with taking photos of healthy animals and selling them off once they are knocking on deaths door.

Here is a similar thread about Zack.. Same EXACT story.. Different sickly animal!

Way to go Zack, keep up the good work!! :ack2:

That's very unfortunate to hear. I never had any issues getting her to eat or anything else. But there is no way I could have known she had anything internally wrong. I'm not a breeder and when I sell animals I do not give any guarantees other than live arrival. So I can't issue a refund. I'm sorry this has happened but the reptiles I sell I sell as outwardly healthy. She had never showed me any reason to have to make a trip to the vet. Her poop was always as it should be and she always ate for me. She is plenty healthy to get over this hump.

Subject: Citrus dragon

Daizy (the citrus dragon) has continued to not eat. We took her poo in for a fecal study this morning. The fecal exam showed a parasite which required them to do a smear. She has two parasites and an infection from the parasites not being treated. The names of the parasites are capillaria and coccidia. She is on three medications, Metronidazole Benz, Panacur, and Albon. The cost of the visit was $66.38 ($39.00 for the float/smear and $27.38 for the meds). In six weeks he wants to see her in the office. That will cost $52.00 for the office visit and $39.00 for the fecal float/smear repeat. One vet visit would have made a huge difference in this dragons life. I assume, that because you raise boas and other reptiles, that you care for animals. I also assume that from the way you have worded your e-mails. I want you to return my money. This has turned into a rescue and not a purchase. I'm not even sure if we can save her. I have attached a copy of the paperwork/bill from the vet.

Here is a link to his post about her on these forums http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167510
My wife and I have only been caring for dragons for around 6 months now and we knew immediatly something was wrong with her so the whole outwardly healthy thing really burns me , he intentionally hid this dragon being sick I would have never put a dragon in that bad of shape in a box to for shipping.

Here is a copy of the conversation during the paypal dispute where he again claims her to be outwardly healthy.

4/10/2010 20:50 PDT - PayPal: Buyer escalated this dispute to a Claim.

4/10/2010 20:50 PDT - Buyer: Mr. Ashwood intentionally hid the fact that the bearded dragon he was selling was very ill and malnourished. The pictures he used to sell her showed a dragon that was a little small for her age but in good health. I have pictures of her about 6 minutes after taking her out of the shipping container where she is literally skin and bones. The dragon has several parasitic infections that cause her to be unable to eat and when she does she has severe pain. I have veterinary bills to prove this. I asked Mr. Ashwood to refund the purchase because she was in fact not healthy as he said she was. The bills to rescue this dragon have already nearly surpassed the purchase price, and I have more veterinary visits required to check that she is back in good health. I asked Mr. Ashwood to refund the money he basically told me it was my problem and that he would not.

4/10/2010 19:49 PDT - Seller: Every picture I sent or posted was current. I take care of all my animals. If I thought there was any reason to take her to a vet I would have. But she didn't give me a reason to. She always ate for me. I said it before that I sell my animals as outwardly healthy. From the outside there was nothing to lead anyone to believe there was anything wrong. I'm sorry this has happened but I can't be responsible for an issue I can't see. I'm not a vet, and I'm not a breeder. There was never a health guarantee other than live arrival. My best advice is to make sure she gets her meds and get her healthy instead of bickering with me over this.

4/10/2010 18:32 PDT - Buyer: No. She is clearly not outwardly healthy, "shy eater" does not describe parasite infested, intestine infection, nor malnourished. She is too sick to eat. I am having to hand feed her with a syringe! This dragon should not have been shipped. She could have died in transit. She weighs 64 grams at 8 months of age. She should weigh well into the 100-200g range. She is less than 12 inches long and should be at least 15 inches by now. She has clearly been having these problems for sometime. On every forum and beardie website you can find they list not eating and being a picky eater, as signs of sickness or parasite.....you should have taken care of her. I don't even believe the pictures you used to sell her were recent because the dragon in the pictures did not look like the dragon we received. We can only tell by markings that it is the same dragon.

4/10/2010 17:43 PDT - Seller: My animals I sell are live arrival only and outwardly healthy. This lizard was no different. She was completely outwardly healthy, exactly as I described so how is she not as described? She is exactly what I told you.she is.

Shame on you Zach !!!!... Kevin & Jessica im sorry you have to go threw this b/s ... My snake I got from Zach was "outwardly healthy " also till it died a week later after a almost $300 vet bill .. Thats why its important to use this forum . I became contributing member after the forum helped me .. it saves people heartache ! I hope this situation works out for you and the baby dragon makes a turn for the better and becomes the pride of your collection ... Zach often told me he was a "christian" ?? Hmm hey zach what would jesus do ??

Did You find the animal for sale on fauna or kingsnake ?? if its on kingsnake file a complaint at least that will give him 2 strikes on there... and maybee they will pull his listing abilitys

I've said all that I'm going to say to Kevin/Jessica. So you can keep posting here but I probably won't even read it. And Mike dude you got your refund against my better judgement so just go away and feel lucky I gave you anything.

Yeah I imagine you would not want to read or reply since you know, dead to rights, that you were wrong in keeping this animal in this codition and selling it. This is not about getting money back. People need to know about your quality of care to these animals. In my opinion, it should not even be legal for you to keep animals. I am going to watch this forum for anymore adds and place a link directly to this post on each and everyone. Good luck!!

post away !! it can only help others from falling victim to zach and his sick animals , and Zach's post just shows you what a tool he is ... Its sad that someone would feel its rite to pass off half dead animals to line there poctets and save themselfs from taking a loss

here i'll post it for you

BS!
It's the same animal in the picture provided by the seller that is also in your ad. The buyer didn't have her in hand long enough for her to deteriorate that much. I also took a look at the pictures you have of this dragon in your photobucket account. While they don't show the dragon as emaciated as the buyers picture, it does show a thin animal.

Great! The readers don't have to read over multiple pages to find out that your a scumbag selling sick and dieing animals. That you will refuse and ignore a issue. That's a great judgment call.

POS!
