In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Zach Ashwood bad deal.....

My vet typically only charges me for the brief visit, twenty or so, and I get my meds at cost. She's a very competent herp/avian vet whom I have been working closely with for a couple years now. Guess it depends on how close your relationship is with your vet.

My vet charges a fortune usually. That's to be expected from an emergency center though. But he's also given me thousands in freebies over the years, and he's the only vet, reptile or not, that did house visits to help me treat animals, and not charge me a fee.

Price for services is really up to the administering Veterinarian.

Anyway, Dragon still doing well?

It Doesn't matter if they payed 15 cents for vet visits .. The Point of this Thread is that they where sold a half dead animal from a seller who shouldnt be allowed to have a pet rock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and she then had to work her butt off to save the poor Thing .. I cant belive that you could even accuse Kevin & Jessica of any wrong .. offroad you are a tool !!!!

i know this is late but Im just wondering how you only spent that much on a vet bill. You would have to take the dragon to a reptile vet someone who knows about reptiles. Reptile vets coast more then taking a dog or cat to a vet. Theres not many reptile vets out there. In my city theres only two reptile vets here. and i live in one of the biggist cities in the united states. I took my dragon to a reptile vet and my bill was over two hundred dollars and it wasnt sick or anything. so that vet bill is a little fishy to me. i dont see how meds would coast that. meds by it self would caught 50 dollars.

I've had the same vet for 10 or 11 years, maybe longer and my reptile visits have ALWAYS been cheaper then my mammal by far. With the mammals it's virtually impossible to get out of there for under $100. With the reptiles it's usually $60-75. If not less.
Maybe YOU need to find a new vet.

Thanks to everyone for standing up for us. Dr. Bailey has been our family vet for years. He does cost a fortune for mammals. I had a poodle 12 years ago and her visit and shots were over $200. I think he took it easy on me because of the circumstances. I was at my brothers earlier today and saw Daizy. She was stomping and head bobbing their dog as if to say," Shut up and go lay down!" It was too cool. She looks great, and is eating like a little cow. I think some people like to come on here and stir the :censored:. Well it worked...:NoNo:

You also have to look at the fact that you are an CA and Kevin lives in Indiana.
Services, wages, and related expenses such as location costs ( rent, utilities, and such) don't match. Operating costs in CA are higher than a lot of places and that figures into what you pay.

Wellness checks from my vet are $60 per snake. So he's just getting ripped off. (Kel)

Same here my wellness checks are 50-70 depending on the size of snake. Dennis is also spot on, it has a lot to do with area you live and cost of living; etc.

On a side note, if you look at OffRoad's posting history, almost every single post is needling at something or blatantly trying to pick a fight.

Some truth to the old adage also...you get what you pay for. My wellness exams run about $100 a pop out here. But that's also from the most noted reptile vet in town.

Sorry it has beens so long since my last update. Kevin and I moved and have been without internet for sometime now. We just got everything up and running yesterday. In answer to Focal X No Daizy did not survive. Sadly, a couple months after she was rehomed, Daizy died of an apparent Resp infection. I am sure her immune system was very low due to her poor start in life. Thank you all for your support and your questions. Scammer Zach is still out there! BEWARE!

Jessica

So sorry to hear about Daizy. She was lucky to have caring owners that tried so hard. It's a shame that the effort was required to begin with. So sorry for your loss.
