Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Perseverance pays off: Tale of a survivor!
My hatching season was going well until about the middle of July. All the babies hatched out great, active, and healthy, until one weekend. A little baby hatched out and she was in rough shape. She couldn't open her eyes, had extra skin between her thighs and ankles (think crested gecko legs), and appeared to have breathing problems. Worried dearly about her, I placed her in her own special quaratine shoebox so I could give her special care.
For a whole month I spoon fed her apricot baby food mixed with JurassiCal and T-Rex's crested gecko diet. She would eat, but not enough, at least in my opinion. A whole month went by. She didn't grow at all, and she really showed no improvements. I was worried about her quality of life, and was going to euthanize her via the refrigerator method. I couldn't bring myself to do it. She was trying so hard to stay alive. She tolerated the feeding sessions and even let me douse her eyes in saline solution once a day.
Then one day, I open the tank to give her a feeding, and there she was, jumping around, and LOOKING at me!! Her eyes were both open, and she could see! They're a little malformed, but they work! She ate her first mealworm right from my hand and began accepting crickets the next day. I was so excited!
Once she got enough weight on her, I decided I had to do a little surgery and clip the excess skin on her back legs. The skin was causing her cloaca to bleed whenever she lunged for a cricket, and I was worried about serious bone and muscle deformities in the legs and hips if I left it alone. So, I went ahead, got my sharpest pair of scissors, and snipped the skin. She wasn't happy for a few days, but now she's running around like a normal little gecko!
I just thought I'd share this success story with you. I hear so many sad stories in here that it's nice to hear about a little one making it! It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly resilient leopard geckos are!

It warms my heart to hear of someone who truely cares for the animal
weither it can breed or not. She is one lucky little girl.
I must say I have found more true "animal lovers" among the breeders
here than on any other herp site. That is why I stay here.
