    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

Info Craig Hughes (twohy4you)

I think she'd be a fool NOT to accept that offer as resolution.

And is your name Craig, or Criag?

check the tracking on my female, and the breeding on iherp.it says this was strictly zara x nostromo. she had all intentions of breeding the huffman to her.

we both should of done an agreement. but at the same time, she had two of my females and was having one in with her huffman in from 1/17 on and the other from the time she got her. there is no tracking that i can find on my female zara even being with the ivory!

Actually, you're wrong. There was tracking for the Ivory there but since they never locked (he never even attempted to) I removed the tracking - it was useless to be there.

IMHO

Take 3 of YOUR choice, and give him the remaining 2...
Thanks Michael. Although I still think I'm right, I'm going to do this. I pick my 3 and he gets the other two.

^^ the above is my business prospective, my honest opinion is SERIOUSLY? Take the 1 Huffman and consider Abby a saint for giving you the opportunity to produce an animal like that. And your threats about "bringing this to fauna" is the reason it is here don't sit there and be like " Oh I wasnt the one who posted this here" ... seriously....
Thanks again ;)

craig. never tried to edit it. guess i should do that.
thanks for everyones input. well wait and see what kind of response i get.

Personally I think that without Abby's male, or her putting the time and effort into everything, Craig would have no Huffmans, so taking his choice of a male is enough.

A little story. (100% true)
I went to a local bank and applied for a loan to get a car when mine died. I told them I was going to buy a 1999 Outback from a dealership. They approved the loan.
I went to look at the car and it turned out to be in worse shape then I thought, so I decided not to get it. I went to a different dealership and looked a different car. (A Chevy something or another.)
I decided I liked it, so they faxed the bank the paperwork and I went to get the check. When I got to the bank, they said no. They said because I changed cars, the original deal was not valid and I would have to apply for the loan again.

The original deal didn't happen because of circumstances out of Abby's hands (you can't force a male snake to mate).

I say take the male and be happy.

Actually, if he wants the male yellowbelly and a male Huffman, I say do that and call it.

i didn't post it here. did i say bringing this to fauna? ya but i didn't want to. what the heck else am i suppose to do? jumping jacks because she hit the lottery off of my snake. i don't think so.

First of all, I didn't hit the lottery on YOUR snake. Your snake had ZERO to do with the outcome of what morphs the babies were. That's common sense.

I already said I'll pick my 3 and you can have the other 2.

LETS MAKE THIS EASY, she gives me the one male huffman and the male yellow belly she is trying to sell for 200. and we call it even since yellow bellies are what i wanted in the first place. that to me would be huge for her. and satisfy me (to were i would drop it) lets see her reply? anyone argue that this would solve a huge freaking pain in my butt on a saturday night.

That sounds incredibly fair.

They have to actually sell for $1500 each before anyone hits the lottery.

Oh and, in case no one knew - breeder loans can ruin friendships if you don't have everything in writing and agreed to by both parties. And even then greed's got some strong pull.

Oh I still think Abby is right, but if you getting a Huffman and the male YB would end the conflict, I say it's worth it.

If you want to be fair, at least give him the second pick plus whichever one you want to give him, or second pick plus the yellow belly would work out better for you.

Actually, his female had EVERYTHING to do with what was produced. Unless you can guarantee the same results from any female? I call that common sense.

Uhh, unless you don't know... The male is the one providing the gene. The female just provided the egg. And actually I did hit 5 from him out of another 5 egg clutch so I'd say it is safe to say it was him

Um...hate to break it to you...but no...she didn't.
The male threw the genes...and the male is what made them Huffmans.

The male is what made them be Huffmans. The female is what made them Huffmans be. :D

You're still making this about dollar signs, Abby. It doesn't seem that Craig had much interest in Huffmans, nor is he concerned/impressed about your perception of the value of them (and before you object to my characterization of things - take a look at which one of you has been referencing the price/value....heck, you even mentioned it with relation to the yellowbellies; saying that at $100 each, you didn't care if he got an extra one.) I think his offer of accepting your yellowbelly in place of another Huffman demonstrates that pretty clearly.

It isn't about dollar signs to me Harald - it's about it just not being fair at all. No matter how you slice it, he didn't put as much into this deal as I did. Effort wise, or animal wise. Also, he was excited about the Huffmans. He never expressed to me that he was bummed about the new deal at all. He seemed just as happy if not more that I was putting the Huffman with her instead.

I already said the deal I'm willing to do several posts ago.

Shadera is absolutely correct here.

If it were my snake, normal or not I would be angry as all get out if the arrangement was changed, including the amount of babies I would be receiving.

We just finished a breeding loan with a friend. He had the female and we had the male, it was established ahead of time that we only wanted 1 snake from the breeding. We got lucky and it is a female.

The other 2 that hatched are possibly a new morph, we love our friends more than any snake and are thrilled to death that he may have found something new and different.

Give the man his 2 Huffmans, and maybe you can salvage the friendship

I'm with Laura on this. It does come across as very greedy that Abby wants to keep 4 of the Huffmans and Craig only gets one.

I have done some breeder loans with friends. I always say that ESPECIALLY with friends, it's important to get everything in writing so that there is no mis-understanding and loss of friendship as a result.

My loans spell out who is responsible for vet care if the loaned animal requires veterinary care, replacement value of the loaned animal should it die while it's at my friend's, or theirs at mine. We don't leave a single detail out so that there's NO question about responsibilities and eventual splits.

True but the bolded would have been correct if the male was a Huffman or an Ivory, correct?

Its just that now since the offspring are worth more, you bring that into the equation.
