In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Joe Pierce (BAD GUY)

Yes, this just happened last month. I bought a Lava Lavender & Lavender het Lava pair from him and he was very nice and attentive while I was making payments for them. He shipped them out in a timely fashion. When I picked them up they were dead. Terrible thing to happen but I wasn't angry. I let him know that they were reported as DOA and asked for my money back. Haven't heard a word since.

How'd they arrive? Overnight? 2-day? Were there shipping delays?

Was it the "old" Joe before his long absence or the "new" Joe that was back in town for a while...:shrug01:

I'm glad you put it in quotes since there is not going to be any difference between the "old" and "new" Joes.

by the way, Jeff, WHICH long absence are you talking about? The current one, the recent one, the one before that, the one before that one, or????? I don't want to be to one to call a pattern here, but it's hard to NOT see a trend.

They were shipped 2-day. There were no delays.

That's unusual unless you used Delta Cargo. I haven't done that in almost a decade, so I'm pretty much unfamiliar with that process now. Were they shipped Delta or FedEx? If FedEx, 2-day on reptiles is against their policy. You might want to let them know Joe is violating his shipping waiver.

If FedEx, I'm with everyone else - why WERE they shipped 2 day instead of overnight priority?

I was referring to the one during/after the initial post of this thread and before the recent set of posts on his resurfacing.

As I wrote on this forum and Cornsnakes.com This is Joe He pulls crap then disapears for a year or two then he rises back from the sewage to spew on new pray. I forget how many times he changed his business name.

Now that you know better insist first overnight or priority or no deal unless it is in early spring or early to mid fall. Winter is OK too but must have a 72 hour heat pack

Kristy,
If you continue posting (on the BOI) without including your full name, your posts will be removed.

I agree, but that's what he decided to ship. I didn't make the decision.

You should have insisted on correct shipment methods, but if the seller insisted...well, he should honor live arrival IMO. Joe likely just wanted to save a couple of dollars on his end. I'd LOVE to hear his side of the story on this, though. To give the guy some credit, I hadn't heard of him using 2-day FedEx before now.

...and please include your full name. I'd hate for another Joe compliant to disappear because of a TOS violation on the BOI!

I'm 95% sure it's a violation of FedEx shipping policy (100% sure with UPS) if you ship reptiles 2 day. 2 day is never acceptable. If I had knowledge that a breeder was recommending such practices, I'd steer far, far away from them.

When you ship right and in the right temps you don't have problems. I have learned some shipping tricks from shipping and receiving Tropical Fish from and to all over the country. It is easy to keep correct temps in the cold but the hot is where things turn bad. If you use a Quality heat pack and Styrofoam box you can go for days before something goes wrong. I catch Italian Wall Lizards and ship them all over the country. As soon as the temps are over 75 degrees I refuse to ship Priority and everything goes overnight. I have used the Post Office for both with no problems. They make a 72 hour heat pack for tropical fish. I have seen some people use for Lizards. I myself send them with the 72 hour heat pack. I cant tell you how many bearded dragons I have sent out that way. I have received wild corns in mid spring with no heat pack either over night or 2 day depending on temps, temps are fine in the 55 to 75 degrees snakes just got done brumating . They are used to warm and cool temps. A heat pack will cook the damm thing if the temps spike up. You have to use common sense . I would never send a reptile or tropical fish any way but over night in the hot weather

Just to let all know I use the US post office for my Priority Delivery's with Lizards. I send out my snakes using Fedex and used to get shipments through airborn express for my wild caught corns and rats

Vinny, the point is that you are violating FedEx & UPS policy by shipping reptiles 2 day. We're not talking about fish here. Joe violated his agreement with FedEx shipping 2 day. That discussion on the specifics of correct shipping practices is better served in the Shipping forum, however.
