In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Fire and Ice Dragons (Terri Sommella)

Totally different scenario. Had this happened to one of our customers, we would have handled it exactly as you did. Your customer did not I notice, post on this forum with untruths instead of contacting you though, did he?

Which is why I stated that it didn't have a single freaking thing to do with this thread! Really. Read the whole thing and quote it all instead of picking it apart. I was simply stating that it was good business ethics. Get it right. :shootfoot

That is your choice. I totally disagree. Treating customers fairly IS a good business practice. If you would back down immediately as soon as a customer did to you what was done to us, God bless you. I guess I would never buy anything from you. We on the other hand, hate being treated unfairly and will not treat our customers this way.

Out of my entire post, THIS is the only part you choose to address? Unbelievable.

This is one person out of thousands. Thankfully.

Well, there we go. With one statement, comes out some of the true colors.

One calm, collective, reasonable person out of thousands... That really does say a lot.

That's a terrible way to look at it. I know some customers are hard to deal with, and you can't make them happy... but when I say "some customers", I'm referring to ones that will make threats, spread false statements just to hurt your business, etc.

This customer has done none of that. All he had was a change of mind about the dragon. I realize that you can't please everyone, and that there's a few "nuts" in the crowd.. But this person certainly isn't one of them.

No refunds are given on deposits for special order dragons or dragons held for International shipment before the dragon has shipped. Thank you

According to your policy he didnt make a deposit he paid in FULL. No deposit % was discussed told that you would hold the deposit. Most if not all have a non refundable deposit TOS in order When buyers back out but any other money above the deposit is ALWAYS to be refunded.

Your newly written TOS has holes once again as it don't state % of deposit needed on orders to be held.

Need to get your story straight and refund the money and move on or you'll end up looking for a new way to make money

You walk away with your refund, while this thread stays forever. Who is not being fair to whom?

Yup, this thread is here forever. The OP just so happened to use a red icon in its title...is that your beef? Actually, don't answer that, no one cares. You've blamed the downfall of this transaction on the OP, your ever-changing TOS, "defending" the honor of your past customers...I'm half expecting you to say "the butler did it."

Again, this thread will be here forever...as such, its the content within it that's important (not the PNG in its title). It's solely up to you whether or not you come out of this in a positive light. This thread is currently only 30+ hours old, and there have been 3,500+ views. For everyone's sake (yours, the OP's, the dragons) I urge you to reconsider your current stance.

(I haven't read every post in this thread. If the gist of what I'm saying has already been mentioned then I apologize for the redundancy)

Is it just me or does it seem like this has disintegrated into a: No I am right, No I am right, No I am right, No I am right No I am right, No I am right, No I am right, No I am right response from the seller?

At some point you have to realize that 1) your terms of service were vague enough to need changing, 2) you did not deliver a dragon as promised in the time frame promised (even accounting for some slow growth ~ 1 month is a BIT much), and 3) this is not simply going to go away.

OH AND saying that a customer will get the refund they want only AFTER the animal is shipped twice is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! Why put the dragon through this? I don't care what you say, shipping any reptile is stressful. Crap when I travel it is stressful and I know what is going on! AGAIN as I stated earlier: Way to care about the animals you produce!!

Terri,

You keep referencing you previous customers. You do know that you have some that are viewing this thread. You can run me into the ground all day but in the end, they will read your responses as well as mine. It will create doubt in their minds and will result in a loss of business for you. I do not wish to see you lose business on account of this. Please do the right thing.

Think about this Terri. As stated above there are many folks watching this thread. 3500 is a lot of people and potential business. It is well known that word of mouth is the best form of advertising (good or bad). If it were me, I would want to have it known that yes I had a BOI thread started but in the end I compromised with the customer that benefited us both. To end things on a negative note is not a good thing.

It is truly unfortunate that the purchase of a Bearded Dragon has resulted in this situation and thread. I chose to chime in because I felt that Terri has come under some heavy scrutiny, yet very few people referenced their personal experience with Fire and Ice. Over the years I have purchased 20+ Dragons from Fire and Ice and I honestly say that I have received the same great service and quality Dragons on my 21st Dragon that I did with my very 1st Dragon.

I realize that Josh does not share my sentiments, but by members critiquing Terri’s policies, speculating ill or over sold Dragons and making inferences of shady or elusive behaviour is a bit harsh and will not help either party resolve this matter.

Josh, I really hope that you and Terri reach an agreement PRIVATELY. I would hate to learn that this situation has not put a sour taste in your mouth for the Bearded Dragon Community. I personally think that working with Bearded Dragons is extremely rewarding and hope that you experience the same sense of fulfillment that I have enjoyed as you begin to breed them. Welcome and good luck!

Based on what I have read in this thread I would like to point out the following as I am sure that I will likely be researched:
- Yes this is my first post
- No I am NOT a business partner of Fire and Ice Dragons
- Yes I have exchanged Dragons with Fire and Ice Dragons. However I have also exchanged Dragons with many other popular and reputable breeders.
- I am not an expert on photography but I have purchased adult Breeders from Fire and Ice and I can conclusively say the pics on their website are real. I have never been disappointed.

Have a good night everyone!

Sorry I meant to say: I would hate to learn that this situation has put a sour taste ....

Chris, thank you for your input. I feel as though I have exhausted all resources trying to handle this in a private manner. I think that sticking to the thread will help keep us both honest. I am not a fan of the he said she said deal.

Not at all Chris. I have run across many of folks in the herp community. I have enjoyed conversing with them and learning various things as well as sharing my own ideas. I have 8 beardies currently and would not consider being rid of them over something like this. They are part of my family!

The person I feel sorry for most in this thread is Mark (woodrott). I am sure he will see some backlash out of this deal when this was out of his control. I had asked Mark to assist me in getting Terri to see reason. Mark stated that he had made a call to Terri, which means a lot to me. I appreciate your efforts in helping resolve this Mark.

Makes me sad to think that F&I was one of my favorite sites when I first started out in the hobby years ago...and now that I've saved my money and I'm back on the market for dragons I've had to cross F&I off my list of sellers along with several others.

Good luck Josh. I really hope things work out for you. :(

Thank you for the support Nichole!

No problem! I'll see ya around. Oh and good luck with those beardies as well! I'm sure they love being in your care! :)

(Would love to see pics some time!)

One last thing. You keep repeating the following...

Again I will state our online policy - No Refunds. I cannot treat josh any different than any other customer. That is only fair. I will bend over backwards for customers.

Yes we are stubborn in defending the right of every prior customer who read and abided by the guarantee and those to come. You bet. One loud person should not be treated any differently than everyone else. It's funny. You will get your money ultimately anyway since that is what you care about, so this is all a big to do for nothing.

I believe thinking people will see that the best way to treat customers fairly is to treat everyone the same. If you do not agree, that is certainly your option.

You are really not getting this. To change company policy for one person is unfair to every other honorable customer. How would you feel if you were a customer viewing this and you abided by the 'contract' and someone else was given leeway because he chose to post a smear campaign for no bonifide reason? What kind of message does that give? Maybe you handle business that way, but we do not. He pre-ordered a dragon. That dragon is here waiting to be shipped.

Due to the implications in some of your other previous posts...your above platform is nonsense...

Nicole, had he come to me first, this could have been avoided. As it is, he chose to post on this thread a whole day before I even knew about it. A refund now will not make this thread go away.

I know what you are saying and if he had contacted us civilly, I would have done so. We no longer trust him. Therefore, we will follow Josh's agreement from this morning and our guarantee to the letter.

It's a shame we have to go through all of this stress on the dragon but this is the way josh has chosen to play it. Had he taken a civilized approach to begin with, this would likely have ended quite differently.

You've just implied to ALL the people viewing this ordeal, that had the OP contacted you privately you WOULD have ignored your precious TOS, you WOULD have treated him "differently." Hence, you're obviously not unwavering in that regard. It now just seems that you're arguing for the sake of arguing. :shrug01:

Perhaps you should add that to your TOS..."If you post a Bad Guy thread on us, then all bets are off."
