Bad Guy shipyourreptiles ups

My main issue here is that this bad guy thread title makes SYR look like the bad guy when in fact it is UPS and not SYR that is holding the packages so I just do not see how the OP can blame SYR.

really there the ones that took the cash so there the ones responsible . there also the ones that are not answering there emails

If you copy and paste those tracking #'s into UPS's website, you will see that, in fact those shipments are indeed on hold.

If someone is making a claim here on the BOI, then the evidence needs to be here. I should not have to go to UPS's web site to see anything. This thread will be here for years to come. The information on UPS's web site regarding tracking numbers more then likely will be removed at some point in time. If someone wants to post a ligitimite claim that gets some respect, then all the information needs to be here.

Um did you try calling them?

Email is not always the best way to contact a company. I know everytime I have ever had any issue with Fedex I don't email them I CALL them.

And just so you do not have to look for it

Don't know about the other shipments, but the one going to Washington, IL could indeed be on hold due to poor weather. The rain in northern IL was intense and only recently ended, and we have a lot of flooding which may affect that particular shipment.

Big agreement on only shipping Mon.-Wed. though in case of holdups like this.

I only ship Monday and Tuesday. Apparently the OP doesn't know how to read their TOS before purchasing the shipping label, or understand what SYR's is doing by providing the service. This isn't SYR's fault, this is UPS's fault.

ShipYourReptiles.com under Section 4: said:
Personal Responsibility. Buyer indemnifies, and Seller accepts no responsibility, whatsoever, for any and all actions of UPS, its employees or representatives, including, but not limited to, actions by delivery men or women employed by or associated to UPS, and Buyers dealings with them. Buyer understands that it is the sole responsibility of Buyer to deal with UPS in a professional manner, and that Buyer undertakes a duty to notify Seller of any issues Buyer might have with their UPS shipping arrangement.

Did you email UPS? Yes? Then post them please. Did you notify Ship Your Reptiles of your experience? I saw no mention of it, and per their TOS I'd suggest doing it. I had an issue once with a package being held over night, notified them, and I got the package that same day, just at 7pm, pick up, at a local hub.

Pardon my post sentence about not mentioning this to SYR. I was replying when you posted it.

Post all and any correspondence.

This most likely has nothing to do with SYR, but UPS themselves. I have been having MAJOR issues with UPS lately...some of which including lost packages and holding back reptiles through the weekend for god knows what reason.

Ups really really sucks when it comes to shipping animals, though I went through SYR when I used them and I didn't blame the company. Also when you call UPS or try to speak to anyone they all tell you different things and you have to speak to about 20 people before they ultimately tell you what the hell is going on or that there is nothing they can do for you!

I didn't even get refunds for them losing my package and killing a leopard gecko of mine. I would recommend shipping fedex if you can. UPS really sucks big time as of late. I would post the calls made to them if I could, but I did call multiple times and not e-mail so I can't. Just beware UPS for sure, they are really sloppy now and don't seem to give a damn what they do.

Didn't WI get some really bad storms last night? I know IL had some bad storms too. Could they all still in Milwaukee due to the storms? Maybe they made it out of WI late because of the storms and to KY late, missing their connecting flights to get them to their destinations. This is not SYR fault and might not be UPS fault if it is due to the storms in WI and IL. Always check for bad weather and it really is best to ship Mon-Wed. What is in the packages? Can they handle high temps? Have you called UPS to see if they are still going to get the packages there today - just late?

This happened to me recently and I wouldn't dream of blaming SYR. They don't control UPS or the weather in KY.

My buyer contacted UPS and explained the situation (live animals sitting in a box). UPS made a special trip to get the geckos to her asap. They were only a few hours past the promised delivery time and all arrived in great shape.

Be proactive and you will likely get better results.:)

One other thought, I had this happen on the first package I sent after SYR lost their snake shipping permit. I got an adverse weather notice. I rechecked the weather from here to there and never saw anything bad. That doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't bad weather, who knows what's going on thousands of feet in the air. However, I toyed with the idea that they pulled my package to see what was in it. My package still arrived on time, but I still wonder...

:iagree:...100%!!!

I do realize how frustrating this is, not having any control over the situation (it happened to me a few weeks ago with their competition), but before you jump on someone here for asking questions, please take a deep breath.

Now, the first thing to do is call SYR. I've never had to bother with it (even when I was using them to ship snakes), but I do know that they can give a LOT more help than if you sit back and expect someone to answer your e-mail. Someone there may be able to track down your shipment and get it to a local hub, especially with tomorrow being Saturday!!

Coming on here and bad mouthing them is certainly not putting effort towards finding your packages. Good luck and I sincerely hope that your animals are all ok. :yesnod:

I agree with all of what you said, but I just wanted to add here that when they lost my reptiles and then finally found them on Friday they would NOT send them out for Sat because they didn't have a special shipping label. They told me there is nothing they could do at that point and they would not be delivered until the next business day. So even if this person did get in contact with UPS and try to get them delivered for Sat after talking to about 20 people....good luck because they told me they WOULD NOT do it unless they had a special SAT shipping label.

Depending on what info I got from calling SYR, I probably would never have to call UPS. The people at SYR (from what I've heard, as I've not personally had to do this) are supposed to be pretty good at taking care of their business. Since the OP is essentially using SYR's UPS account, SYR is going to be the ones doing most of the leg work.

He may or may not get somewhere by following this advice. By sitting behind his computer and coming first to the BOI, AND bashing those that tried to help, he's guaranteed to get nowhere, except more frustrated!

Yes, I agreed with that....even though I was beyond pissed at UPS when mishaps happened to me I didn't post anything here and definitely not first. I was so worried about my reptiles that I was on the phone pretty much for hours trying to save them.

However, I did call SYR too when this happened to me and again...they said it was UPS's doing/dealing and there was nothing they could do to get them delivered Sat either. So not entirely sure there is anything they can do at this point besides pray they are alright.

and depending on where they are it's going to be rather hot here...I do hope they are okay. The heat killed one of my animals and then almost a second and it was only about 88-89 then. It's 93-95 here! :(

Well, aside from the obvious: you need to post any and all e-mails, information, photos, tracking information related to all cases brought to the BOI, this is simply foolish and unwarranted.

It has been stated that there is no reason for this thread against SYR and that much is clear. You are claiming that SYR is responsible for your package being held due to poor weather conditions. Now, let's pretend for a second that the weather for flight is fine right now. Let's pretend that the conditions for your packages to arrive in a safe, secure manner are optimal. Let's say that UPS lost your package in these conditions and are unable to deliver due to that circumstance. This means that UPS is at fault, not SYR. Just because you shipped using someone else's account does not mean that the are responsible for carrier error. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have a feeling that if this was your UPS account, you would be solely blaming them. That has about as much weight as people trying to sue McDonald's for being overweight.

The facts are:

-You shipped these animals on a Friday which should never be done.
-You chose to e-mail SYR to inform of the situation instead of call UPS to try and get it handled yourself.
-You are spending time bashing a company on the BOI instead of trying to resolve it yourself.
-You seem to have no drive to fix the problem yourself and, instead, keep saying "It's information fault, I used their account, they are responsible".
-You are not taking responsibility for the fact that you did not pay attention to the weather for flying, not just for ground transportation.

No, see, the thing is? When you ship out a live animal to someone, you are responsible. No one else is. If you are worried that you are going to have to dish out a refund and eat shipping in the event these animals pass due to your irresponsibility, then you are SoL. You should have practiced safer and more logical shipping practices. If those animals die, you are mostly to blame. You should have been watching the weather. You should have shipped earlier in the week or early next week. All of these things are your errors, no one else's. Man up and take responsibility for yourself and your actions.

Chalk this up to a lesson learned and pray those animals make it through the weekend. You are running out of time to call UPS and try to get this handled through them.

I may have questioned SYR's in the past... but on this one... I've gotta ride with them. I cant see how this is their fault.... and I have yet to see anything posted by the OP other than check the tracking numbers. Do you have anything from SYR's saying the wont help you. Have you called them. I have read that their may customer support guy is very good at what he does..... you need to call, but this late in the day... chances are they are stuck till monday.

really there the ones that took the cash so there the ones responsible . there also the ones that are not answering there emails

Chalk one up to the Can't Win Blues. OP posts no real info we can see.
If the carrier had not held shipment and in fact the claim of bad weather was true and the critters died, I'd bet the OP would be on here in a nanosecond skewering SYR anyway.

As long as we're blaming SYR for everything that everyone does, how about the economy, the lack of world peace, the oil leak, and the outrageous price of good chocolate?

Didn't WI get some really bad storms last night? I know IL had some bad storms too. Could they all still in Milwaukee due to the storms?

Yes, south eastern WI was slammed yesterday afternoon throughout this morning with T-storms, tornadoes, and flash flooding. In fact, they closed the Milwaukee airport yesterday because of the flooding, and it didn't re-open until early this morning.

If the package is hung up in Milwaukee, it's most likely because there was no air transport in this area for over 12 hours.

so I got told today that my three shipments where not going to be delivered do to adverse weather in KY.
If you look at the adverse conditions on the weather channel the adverse conditions are 80 and sunny no chance of rain :censored:
WOW that is some adverse weather. :censored:

Adverse weather conditions in YOUR state is the cause.. not the weather in KY where one of the main hubs is. The weather in YOUR state prevented them from sending stuff to there from KY. 8+ inches of heavy rain in a 24 hour period, flooding, sinkholes swallowing SUVs... that is what I would call adverse no?
