    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

even if the top ones tail is kinked, we already come to the conclusion here that tails do not affect value, and even if it does, not $350 dollars worth
 
Remember, she may think her "peace" gecko is worth $450.00, but she has it marked at $600.00 on her site.

And the $100.00 gecko has a kinked tail and could be a tad thin (unless it's the angle of the camera).

A kinked tail does affect value greatly imo.

A nipped or shortened or dropped tail- you know the cause of that.

But kinks can be a number of things and I would not want that in my breeding colony for the risk of it being passed on and not just being a fluke.
 
regardless, i was just using the gecko for sale here as a guideline that her "peace offering" gecko is way overpriced, and there is no way i would consider that a fair compensation, even if i wanted more geckos from her.

Ok well you have to give her some credit for offering something more than was offered before because that was not even on the table before. She took that offer of the dalmatian gecko to him to try and make things right so I don't think you can she is not making any efforts there.

I am not throwing my support behind her or what has happened up to now, I am just saying, effort is being made on her part, even if it seems like not enough.

AltitudeExotics, comparing what you could get somewhere else to what she is offering is not really fair ether. If you are just going off the principal of prices, she is offering a gecko up that she thinks is worth $400. So that tells me she would I have priced it as such on her site, and in this case it's priced higher. If you took the stance of just not liking how the gecko looked Id be more on board, but just using $ value to void out her offering seems petty. She determined the "moonglows" value, so she is doing the same here as well with the dalmatian.

Like I said, not supporting her, and I do understand the principal of the this matter, I am just saying.

I will give her no credit. That offering is not out of the goodness of her heart, but rather, something to make Brian go away and feebly attempt to salvage her down spiraling reputation. I don't like it, as I've stated, but it is likely all he is going to get, which is not fair in the least. However, if he does not take it, then he is going be left with nothing but a buckskin/olive gecko that he shelled out 450.00 USD for.

The offer was self-serving for Kim only. Not a good will offering of peace towards Brian.

That is why I specifically said I was not taking her side, but I am not God nor do I pretend to be so I cannot tell you without a doubt what her intentions were when it came to her offering. Could they have been self serving, certainly, but they could also have been the result of a night of thinking about the matter and trying to offer up another solution.
 
If it was the result of the right thinking, why would she offer up a 400.00 Gecko instead of just give him the 150.00 he asked for? That makes little to no sense to me.
 
And the $150 is something she might not even have to refund in the first place. Sure does look like it since she is practically throwing geckos at him now.

I understand your reasoning here, but I believe this to be a completely false statement. To say that the animal costs 'basically nothing' to produce is silly.

All your other points I find valid though. The only credit you could give her is that she is trying something. Whether you value that animal at $400 or not. She started the terms so now counter. Browse her site and find the gecko that YOU'D value as something to make this right.

If you can't find anything, then refund of money is in order. I'm looking to buy a female pastel ball and if I was sent something else that didn't fit my plans, that would be unacceptable to me. I have no use for something I didn't want to begin with. I shelled out good money for what I wanted. And if I don't get it, you bet your butt I'll moan about it!

There is always more than one way to skin a cat. I had a similar situation recently and I could have demanded a refund, but I was offered a replacement and I took it because I was ok with that offering. I do understand the offering is not acceptable to the OP at this point, and I am not saying he is wrong for feeling that way, but maybe she was trying to find another non cash related solution that she thought might work, to me that is effort, if she did not care at all she would have stopped communicating with you altogether by now. I can't fault her for making an offer to see if it would appease you but that is just me.

If she really cared she should have offered a cash refund before this was ever brought to the BOI. IMO

She has now done nothing more than drag this out and cost herself many potential customers and repeat customers. myself included as one of those repeat customers.
