In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Jerry Boyd, JerryBoyd88, in "Woodstock, IL"

I have been reading these posts since they started as I was the first to answer Jerry's ad, or so I was told by him. I put in a bid for the female bee and the bigger of the two pastel females, and Jerry accepted it and payment arrangements were made. I told him I would pay half now ($600) and the other half next week. After a big red flag slapped me in the face of sending that amount of money to a third party in another state, I called Jerry back and told him my concerns. We talked for about a half hour on a lot of things like morphs we'd like to work with, etc. Not just about the deal. After talking with him I felt better about the deal, and told him I would send him a $300 MO now so he knew I was serious about the deal, and I'd meet him and give him the rest in cash in person in a couple of weeks when I was in the area for SEWERfest. He agreed. As soon as I emailed him and told him the $300 was sent (10/21), I got his email saying that he decided not to sell. I immediately canceled the MO at my bank, and emailed Jerry to let him know I did this. So far no response from him, but that's not a biggie. So, is the guy a scammer or just a guy that needs a lesson in business etiquette? I don't know yet...but we might with the question at the end of this post. The thing that puzzles me is this; I have talked to both Jerry and Michael (responding to another ad Michael posted) on the phone and both of them called me back; one from a Woodstock, Il phone number (Jerry), and another from MS (Michael). They did not sound like the same person to me. Both of them seemed like very nice, knowledgeable people. So, if they are the same person (which I doubt) and they are scammers, they are very good ones. Anyway, here's the question that I think will answer everything: Other than me, how many other people did Jerry sell the bee to on this ad that sent him (or was going to send him) money for her? If no one else says he sold it to them as well as me, then there we go. If someone else was sold the same bee, well, I guess we know our answer...I'm VERY interested to see the answers to this.
Thanks-
Dav Kaufman

Now he's got ads up here as Michael offering to ship animals before payment is received. How the heck that actually clears his name of all these overwhelming questions is beyond me, but I'm sure there will be the soft brained few who believe that in itself will negate all this bad stuff.

What about all those animals he's sold since his name first came under question? Where's the feedback for THOSE sales? :shrug01:

Yep, get some positive feedback on piddly sales, then go right back to ripping off the big bucks. Perfect scam, imo.

was it ever actually proved that Michael and Jerry are the same person? I'm not saying they are, or aren't, but I missed the post where the proof was, though I think I remember something about similar IP's? :shrug01:

And since the classifieds isn't the place for discussion, I'll say this here.

Heck yes I negged him for posting those ads. (And would neg him again for whining about it if I could.) If you guys actually believe his pittance makes him a good guy and clears up every last little issue he refuses to address HERE, see my post above and get in line to hand him your money. How much more proof do you people actually need before you believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that someone is untrustworthy? :ack2:

He's done NOTHING to clear his name of accusations, only ignored the mounting proof.

The account with the name Michael belongs to Michael Ogle, who has been a member since 2002 (hardly a new account)

But what I don't get is if he ships the animal first before receiving payment, how can he scam people? I just don't get it.
And ARE he and Jerry the same person?
Because JERRY hasn't done anything about this, but if Michael isn't Jerry, he has no reason for trying to clear up his name. This is about Jerry, I thought.
Besides, how does anyone in this business get started other than "piddly" sales? I don't think too many people start out with sales amount to 1,000$ worth in transactions. There'd be a BOI thread about them in seconds.
Which is good, but I'm just wondering how else someone can get a good rep to their name other than offering a good deal for low prices.

Nevermind - I misinterpreted your post, Shadera. It has been posted that Michael H is advertising as "Michael" on KS...I thought you were implying that he was doing so here, as well.

My apologies for not being clearer, Harald. I am referring to the genefreak account which shares the same IP address as the account this thread was named for. Michael is one of the first names used by this person.

But what I don't get is if he ships the animal first before receiving payment, how can he scam people? I just don't get it.

Please go back and reread this thread, as well as the one under that name he's posting ads under now. There's no need for it to be rehashed when it's right there for those willing to read.
Exact IPs, selling the same animals, money orders asked to be sent to an empty house 20 minutes from where "Michael" lives. That's enough for me. Offering to ship out animals before payment comes in doesn't clear anything up for me.

Same bee listed for sale in June 2010( look @ the chain pattern behind the head that breaks then is followed with 3 ringer lookin patterns)... listed as sold on 7/6/10

I agree 100% Shadera. It's a shame that he couldn't just be a straight shooter about what he was doing. He tried to pawn off that "IMG" pin/poss lemon blast axanthic,he used photos from other people without the permission of the owner & now this whole Jerry Boyd thing is way too coincidental...

They are indeed similar. That is extremely odd. :notallthe:

My sincerest apologies, and thanks for posting the link. That's what I was asking for since a while ago, because that was the link I was missing. :ack2:
It does indeed seem that they are the same person according to the evidence we have here. And while I think perhaps he really is trying to turn his rep around on Fauna (because he is indeed a good person, or wants to scam), I myself would not want to risk my money on it, and I wouldn't encourage anyone else to do so. :yesnod:
I'd like to think he is trying to turn everything around, but there are too many bad people in the world to wager on that, and the evidence is fishy.
