    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Check your own statement, bolded above. What you fail to comprehend is that, when someone "buys something fair and square," they expect to receive what they PAID for. :rolleyes: You couldn't give her that. Your idea of "fair" is :notallthe.
 
The buyer had to fight to get her rightful refund, but then she dropped the matter and peaceably went about her business. None of this hanky panky would have come to light if the SELLER had not started this thread trying to turn this into a catfight dragging the buyer back into the pit.

So you've got a booth at a reptile show. You want identical 6 shirts so your staff all match-- red T-shirts, with your store logo on them. You need one XL and 5 L. You pay for the order.

Later, the screen printer gets back to you and says "sorry, I only have 4 red shirts, one XL and 3 L. Here's the cash back for the two shirts I couldn't make you. You can't have the money back for the 4 red shirts, though, you already committed to buy them. But I can print you two green polo shirts anyways.

You'd REALLY be happy with this? You'd accept those terms? You really wouldn't want a refund in full, so you can go to a different screen printer to get a set of six identical shirts, instead of being stuck with four Cardinal reds from this first printer, and two Cranberry red shirts from a different guy?

You didn't just agree to buy "some red shirts". You agreed to SIX red shirts, as a package lot.

When you issue a refund to someone via Pay Pal, there are no fees. This is from Pay Pal's website-

When you refund the money you received, PayPal also refunds any fees that were charged to you

Ummmm, I've dealt with Emily a few times now and everything has been awesome, I know this has no relation to this particular event, but out of the few times we've either traded/or bought/or sold, everything has been eazy breazy. Sorry to hear about this Em.

I am guessing that the seller was charged fees because of splitting up the refund. I don't think that Paypal has an option for partial refunds, so she probably made them as payments. Again, this would be the seller's fault for not double checking with the buyer to see that they still want the remaining animals before issuing a partial refund, and she should eat the cost of the fees.

:iagree: 100%!! Where IS the OP?? Started a bogus thread when SHE is the one showing several traits as the actual bad guy, and now she's not going to comment on this series of events. Unbelievable, and totally unacceptable!!

I keep putting this think on her post in the classifieds. So I don't think there is a need to post on about her. I think she is losing enough customers just be her stupidity on here. No need for me to help her out there.

As for the paypal fees. Its okay with me. I think it was like twenty bucks or something around there. As long as it wasn't three hundred; I'm alright with it.

So can you have this negative thread about me removed? Or is it up here for a while? Don't actually know the rules when it comes to that....

Sorry, but everything in the BOI is permanent. Fortunately, if anyone takes a few minutes to read what's been posted, it's pretty obvious that you aren't the bad guy, but rather the OP is.

Actually you can give either a full or a partial refund using Pay Pal. I've done that a few times over the years.

from their website-
When refunding a payment, can I choose between a full or partial refund?

Yes. You can make a full or partial refund by clicking the Issue Refund link at the bottom of the Transaction Details page. The Issue Refund option is available for 60 days from the initial payment date.

$20 in paypal fees??? I know you've put this behind you, but I'm really curious if you could say the exact number?

(actually looking at paypal, I guess that's right, about 3%, if Emily was forced to pay the fees both ways because the seller didn't do the right thing in the first place and just click refund...)

Oh, yes, you are right!

You receive credit for your original transaction fees based on the kind of refund you issue.

* When you issue a full refund using the Issue Refund link on the Transaction Details page, we credit your full variable transaction fee (1.9% to 2.9% of the transaction amount).
* When you issue a partial refund, we credit a percentage of the variable transaction fee, based on the amount of the refund.

Good grief! Even if she had lost any money due to fees (she didn't), the maximum amount it could have been is about $11.00, which is 2.9% of the $300 you originally sent her.

Oops, forgive my horrible math skills... the maximum amount any fee would be on a $300 transaction would have been $8.70!
