In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Please beware of this seller, Wendy Childs. This seller is delusional and will probably try to defend herself but I don't care and feel it's my job to warn others.

She had a lot of 15 Nosy Be Panthers that I purchased but never got. She had several excuses as to why they weren't shipped and at one point I was told that they were shipped. She used a paypal that was not registered to her, this was a sign that I should have caught.

I sent her the paypal on Friday, August 26th with an agreement that she would ship on the following Monday. I gave her the address to a friends house where the weather was perfect for shipping!!! and made a 3 hour trip Sunday night to be ready for the 10:30 delivery. Waited all day and they never came....and after several phone calls I made to Wendy she finally sent me a huge text from which was extremely hard to decipher. Some excuse about the police shut down the city, they missed the driver, a shootout and who knows what she was saying. So I said either refund my money of send it to the UPS center near my house with cold packs. I provided the address and she said yea know problem.

So I returned home and didn't hear anything the following day, Tuesday. Ok so Wednesday morning I asked for the tracking number being UPS wouldn't give me any info without the tracking number. A few hours later I get a message from her phone from another person, Rochelle Spencer, saying package was shipped but Wendy was at the hospital and will contact me ASAP with tracking.

I'm stressing being I never received any info until the next day. It is now Thursday and Wendy sends me a text stating that when she gets to the shop she will send me tracking so I can pick these guys up. Never get it. Later that day after many texts back-n-fourth she says not to worry and the package was safe in her care.

Now I'm super confused. Asked for a refund or a tracking number by that evening, this being Thursday. She sends me a picture of the package, weird but ok. So she is going to ship for Friday pickup and provides a tracking that will work once the package goes out....

Friday- suprise. No package. She will send me a refund due to the shipping delays. She sends it UPSP certified and it's supposedly a $100 check.

She tells me about all her medical issues and all these reasons why the package was not shipped. I sympathize and agree to wait out the weekend for Tuesday shipping, being Monday the 5th was a holiday. Tuesday comes and now she states it's too hot to ship with the temps in the 80's and nobody ships in the 80's. Even though this week is much cooler then last week and raining, it's too hot to ship.

She states that it looks like it will be 85 until Friday. So I said just send me a refund. She states she doesn't give refunds. I tell her I will give her an hour or I'm filing a dispute with paypal.

Now shes saying I committed fraud posting the pics she emailed to me and violated her terms. I also find out that the "$100 check" she sent me was actually a blank document that was a form used by the USPS and did not contain a check at all.

She tells paypal that she sent me what I purchased and provided the tracking number of the blank document to paypal. Now I'm fully aware that this was a scam. Then she tells The Chameleon Company that I owe her $100 and they send me a threatening letter stating I must pay back Wendy Childs of WA or they will destroy me.

I'm so confused by how delusional she is. She then calls me a thief and a liar and tells me she has a "record of kidnapping and assault :)"

I won the claim with paypal but then she appeals it and that's it where I'm at. She says stroke forces sale but if that were the case I think she would be eager to ship out.

That is my story and I'm sure she will have her own, but don't say you weren't warned.

Post emails, etc

I hope you used your CC through paypal. Call the CC company and explain the issue, if paypal can't help, the CC will help.

Nothing surprising here with how she handles things,

Last year she was handing out discounts to customers to register here and post good guy posts. IMO she needs some kind of treatment for the melon. One you get your money be done with her.

Then she tells The Chameleon Company that I owe her $100 and they send me a threatening letter stating I must pay back Wendy Childs of WA or they will destroy me.
That's a pretty strong claim - please post that letter.

There is a ton of information about Wendy Childs on here... You really should have researched her before you did anything.

email from The Chameleon Company

Greetings. I saw you mention my business name in your ad. While I do not have specific recollection of selling you anything, I sell so much, I may not accurately recall. In aany case, I can have such as Chameleon Forums, and all other advertising formats, remove any reference to me from any ads you post. Hope that all is well, and wish you much success otherwise.

However. You and me have a problem. That you can easily remedy. You currently owe Wendy in WA $100. Just cut the crap, and send her the $100. Then attempt no more business with her. I highly recommend that you fix this, and fix it now. If you do not, I will go out of my way to mention your business habits, of which I do not approve, in my website. In detail. I will also speak of you in ways to many of my West Coast customers that will not put you in a good light. And I will do it with conviction.

This is an easy fix for you. Send the $100. Confirm to me that you have done it.. Then move on wiser. Take care. Thanks.

Some one else told me that they were going to buy that lot, I wonder what happened with that cause they claimed to also be paypaling the money that night as well. It appears that this may not be the only person scammed on this lot.

In reference to the email I received.

After I purchased the chameleons from Wendy I posted on chameleonforums that I will have them available in mid-October and the sire is from the chameleon company.

Maybe this is not allowed, I thought I was able to mention where these guys came from.

The message from Jim probably doesn't come as much of a surprise to many that were around to see him defending Wendy in the past. Interesting....

So you posted up an ad for animals you did not have in your possession as of yet, of unknown health and origin, without appropriate QT procedures?

submitted too soon

I meant to ask if you would be willing to repost that, with headers shown.

It is, and whether or not you have permission you can and should always disclose the bloodlines of the chams you're selling. I myself have purchased from Mr. Flaherty and will always disclose where they came from, if any sellers don't want their names and bloodlines disclosed then they don't need to be selling chameleons.

So you posted up an ad for animals you did not have in your possession as of yet, of unknown health and origin, without appropriate QT procedures?

It was a notice stating I will be selling to local experienced buyers. I wasn't accepting deposits.

Is that not just like stating that I have eggs hatching and I intend to sell.

A lot of businesses state they have something coming soon. Most of the time it happens but sometimes things happen, things go wrong.

Wow.... Let me see if I'm reading this correctly. The OP was scammed out of his hard earned money, and you are now demanding that he send the scammer more money...lol.... I'm curious as to what part you have in this transaction. Did you sell the chams to the OP?
