In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jeff at Boaphile

UTT OH,i want more cages from him. I like his cages out of the 3 types i do have.
Whats an idiot to do?? Guess i should have thought about it way before. He does have nice cages.
I would even take with the splits now. LOL.
Go ahead,beat me up.
Any ideas to comparison cages with those prices? ANYONE?
I'm sorry Jeff...

Gotta hate it when making bad guy threads about petty issues comes back to bite you in the butt, huh?

Chris

This one, yes, but i know you are referring to your friend also.I dont find split cages so petty when paying over $200 man. i think most will agree.
But if you got slpit cages it would be ok with you Chris? More then likely no.
I just eneded up liking his cages best and would like without the splits.

I'd have called Jeff, he'd have sent me some liquid weld, and we'd have called it a day. Crap happens; don't let the small stuff get to you. Jeff takes care of his customers, some people just don't like his method of communication.

Chris

He didnt even offer to send that before i posted a bad guy thread or maybe i would have accepted that.
Not even a sorry, just a laugh and it will be fine satement.

I don't care to get involved in a big dumb long thread, so I'll share my quick experience with the product: Rhino Raxx

item looks fantastic - however quality control seems lacking as there were some screws drilled in from the back that didnt make it into the shelf instead went under the shelf and created an easy way for a snake to escape once the tubs were pushed in.

Besieds that - the one of the racks i received had some nice chunks taken out of it.

And for the record - anyone planning on keep small king/milks/corns or other small snakes in these racks - dont bother - unless you're ok with countless animals escaping - probably lost more $ in snakes than the racks cost. (largest escapee snake was 26")

The tolerance looks great in the front (for most of the slots at least) however snakes were escaping through the back .

Just my $.02 on one specific product of his.

Oh and regarding emails - originally tried to email him to get info on the racks - never responded to them - no point of having your email listed on your website if you dont use it.

That's why I buy only Reptile Basics racks and cages. Never had an issue with any of them. Rich actually answers emails, phone calls, and ships super fast. No 5-7 week nonsense.

Warning: Keep this on topic - which is the Boaphile. This is not the appropriate place to discuss other cage manufacturers

Its almost always like this situation. Sellers are so nice and polite when selling you an item or animals, but when theres issues its always a hastle to get it resolve.
What happen to quality customer service?

Hardly "always" like this situation, more often than not buyers jump the gun after a deal has already been made. what buyers fail to understand, is that once they have sold you a product, they are under no obligation to continue communication with you. This does not give you any repeat costumers mind you, but it's kind of rediculous to expect right-then-and-there- service, after the product has been sold.

Felt I should chime in on my story so here it goes...

I ordered the Baophile "ball room" rhino rack from Jeff. After I had made the purchase I realized that the order would not be shipped for 3-5 weeks after payment was received (my fault for not noticing this before I made my purchase). However, it has now been 7 weeks since payment was received and I have yet to receive my tracking number for shipment. I have several problems with this...the "ball room rack" is a 4 level rack that is a "featured item." they do not have to wait on certain specs from customers as this rack only comes in 4 levels, therefore it shouldn't take this long to make and or ship. I have placed several phone calls to Jeff and he has been extremely short with me and not helpful at all in answering my questions. I had planned on purchasing cages for all I my boas from him but after this experience I chose to spend my money elsewhere. Have yet to see if there is a problem with the quality of the item...looking like it will be at least 8 weeks from time of payment until it is shipped...ridiculous

I dont have problems with the shipping times at all for quality cages, but the splits brought me here.I read all his info before buying and new time was long.It seems maybe Jeff is outgrown the love for the hobby or maybe just tired of the cage business?? Either way he is losing some customers when doing the same thing over and over.
Maybe Jeff just needs a long vacation or good help?

I still love the cages and are my favorite of 3 different ones.

This person is absolutely correct! What kind of idiot would expect a business to feel obligated to fix a defective product.

In all honesty this thread has been one big giggle fest for me.
I would like an update if Jeff ever responded to the original problem. Based on his lack of replies I am going to assume the answer is in his silence.

I eneded up calling him on the phone and he laughed.Said it was venting or something.
Its in the begining on the thread.
I did everything i was told and he just would not fix the problem.

No. I was just updating how i want more of his cages and just cant order since placing a boi on him. Thats why i asked in the update,"whats an idiot to do" ?
I dont expect him to do anything about it and thats part is over . Just wish it was different.
I now am looking to find a comparable product and 1 piece design.
I am a little mad this all happened and he did what he did,it makes its so i have to look else where because of his mistake and not caring that the 2 cost over $400 with splits. I now realize that the slpits are not such a big deal and at least are in the back, but they were my 1st brand new cages when i got into boa's after bearded dragons.

Thats fine if it pertain to good items that is in perfect shape, not defective. However, live animals sometimes are sold sick, or has existing hidden conditions, wont eat, or a jungle python only eat mice not rats, etc.. but sometimes issues with live animals is not stated while being sold.

Not to sure where you are dirceting your comments Margaret, but no one jumped any guns here. He sold a defective product and should fix the issue 1 way or another.
I wasnt crying about time or anything but slpit cages.
I didnt expect something to be done instantly since he lives several states away. But laughing over it is another matter when i "paid up front" No one would have paid the $209 shipped knowing there were decents splits in them! Maybe $159 shipped.

If you want to order more cages from him, just do it. Don't bother apologizing, or trying to make nice - he dropped the ball, you didn't cover it up. Don't beat yourself up over your posts in this thread...Just go online and place your order, or pick up the phone and do it that way - odds are pretty good that he isn't going to refuse to sell to you. (Unless you went over the deep end, and were an unreasonable :censored: in your communications; in which case you may well be out of luck)
