In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hot water or steam is the best. That stuff is just going to make the bacteria stronger in the end. That F10 is over priced it's basically only effective on staph. The most common type of bacteria found in reptile is psuedomonus. I just like hot water. I used to use a steamer but was too much of a hassle.

Hot water and steam will not always work! as for F10 yes its expensive, but does work and leaves a film behind to continue to kill bacteria for up to a week, same as chlorohexidine. And no its not only good for Staph lol both were developed for veterinary care in cleaning and disinfection wounds as well and nebulizing.

I did not run to force feed water and i did not really force feed it water. The first thing i did when I suspected it could be dehydrated was put some moist paper towels in it's hide and just leave it for a little bit. I made sure that water didn't go into it's windpipe. I used a very small piece of airline tubing to do that. After I gave it a few drops. It urinated and passed a urate as well. So I think it needed it.

I think the vet will say the same thing and also I will tell him what I did I will be honest with him he is a decent guy been to him a few times. It's not a smart idea, but the snake was already messed up when i decided to try it. What i'm thinking happened was the wobble got bad and it couldn't drink and it just got worse.

The vet needs to remain neutral but I doubt when you get in there and tell (your side) of this issue coupled with the fact he wont want to loss a "Repeat" customer, he may be swayed in his opinion. However, based on my inquiry on the statement below this one I think we can answer a larger question based of your answer.

You can speak to them. It's westgate bird hospital in austin. You can find there number and call them I am bringing her in at 4:20 tomorrow.

I Googled "westgate bird hospital in austin" and came up with this:

http://www.westgatepetandbird.com/site/view/166860_Welcome.pml

Can you tell me what their specialty is and do they have any formal training in regards to reptile care and treatment? They list no reference to anything reptile related, just dogs, cats and "Exotics" which is listed specifically to imply birds.

I don't really have a side. All I have is a sick snake and I just want rob to make good on what he originally told me (he was going to take her back after christmas). I am taking the snake to the vet because I need confirmation that she is I'll if I need to get my money back by some other means. It don't matter sides or what people said, all that matters is what he said in his advertisement. Even if It was healthy I could still not be happy with her and return her.

I would actually have a similar policy when selling a snake. I want the customer to be happy. These snakes are not indestructible, I am aware of that. But in my 2 years of keeping snakes I have learned quite a few things. If this was my first snake maybe he would have a point. I would not even know if I messed up for not. But when you get a bunch at the same time housed in the same conditions and one all of a sudden gets very sick. It's that snake. The control was built in when I got a bunch at the same time housed in exactly the same conditions. What rob is doing is making a big deal out of this which just looks bad. You people think that I can't keep snakes or I don't know what you think. When rob goes to sell another snake people are going to see this. I got a bad one. It happens.

FWIW I'm in the middle of a transaction with Rob and this thread has not turned me off of him at all, even though he offered to wait to ship until this was resolved.

I would wait. But thats your call. He don't even follow his own advertisement. That would worry me.

If you got a problem you might get blown up on fauna like I have.

Please post pictures of the snake from directly above, and from both sides showing the complete sides of the snake. Please if you dont mind.

You got a bunch of snakes in at the same time. Was this is the only one that didn't have heat? How many sources did the other snakes come from? How close were those snakes to this one?

None made direct contact. Some of them are in the video. All doing fine so far. This is the only one I am having problems with.

If i knew this was going to happen I would have, and also that the snake was 110 degrees when I got her. It's not right, and I have never had to do it with mine, but I have seen videos of people force feeding ball pythons on youtube. It is not going to cause stargazing, that is just totally unrealistic to think that.

When I bring her to the vet tomorrow, he is going to force open her mouth to check the tissue inside, if you guys think that will make her condition worse I will ask him not do to that.

Im still waiting for you to show where your vet is trained to treat reptiles? He doesnt mention it on his site.

I dont think you understand there is a difference between forcing and manually opening the mouth, it can be done, done right and with proper tools. The issue people have a problem with is you possibly drowning the snake with your attempt to hydrate a snake that most likely didnt need hydrating.

Well we can forget about that because it didn't happen. She did not drown. I am glad you cleared it up for your self. Regardless better safe then sorry. Since we know understand that cannot cause stargazing.

When you go to vet school you can specialize in exotics which includes birds and reptiles. The guy is legit. I search for a reptile vet in austin and that was the recommendation I got.

You are right, she didnt drown.

Lets try this another way, if your baby(and I dont know if you have kids or not.) for example, didnt drink his/her formula would you force him/her in a like manner?

Again, Id like to see pictures of the snake, not a video.

Yes, you are right, when you go to vet school, you CAN specialize in exotics, but its not required and its still not listed on your vets page. So your argument is still unfounded. :NoNo:

And obviously if that small amount of stress comparable to a vet check up will cause her to fall ill she is defective and just further justification for my refund or chargeback with ever ends up happing.
