In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Rich Goldzung from Reptile Basics

I've had numerous transactions with Rich, and every one of them went perfectly. I just order some new thermostats from him Wednesday and they arrived on my doorstep Friday morning.

Bought from RBI three times, never had an issue.
I always choose the cheapest shipping option, and even then all my stuff has arrived on time.

Bought my first rack from RBI, an MCB-S WIDE version.
There are small gaps on the top at the back, but I could put silicone sealant around the edges if I wanted an air tight seal - they would be covered if I stacked another rack on top which is what I plan to do. Some of the edges are also sharp, but over all for the price of the rack with heat and tubs shipped to me in three days, I am very happy with it.

Reptile Basics is the first place I ordered from when I was preparing for my ball pythons' arrival, and after the experience I had I will always check RB's site first before ordering anywhere else. My order arrived promptly, was packaged well, and the quality of the hides and UTHs I ordered is fabulous.

I talked to Rich told him I was going to be at Daytona. He brought me a bunch of pegs for a rack I bought second hand. Offered to pay him he said no way. Was next to him at Daytona this year. Still a Great guy

All of my thermostats are from Reptile Basics, and it has always been a great experience. Fast shipping, excellent product and excellent customer service. Rich has always been great with communication, always answering any questions I had as well.

Rich is a good guy. I ordered from him a few years back, fast delivery and excellent products, especially considering the price. I will order from him again when I get back into snakes. Best thermostat I've ever owned. Don't let this thread deter you from ordering from him.

You don't need to spend 300 on a rack. You can get plastic shelfs in the home depot for 50 bucks and cut the tubes down. Use 15 and 32 quart containers at target. Just put the screws in the plastic to secure the shelfs to the tubes if your afraid of the snakes pushing up. Pick up a nice thermostat like a herpstat2 or 4 because you will eventually need the extra zones for heat and breeding or eggs.

You can also add cheap wood also at the home depot to the sides so the snakes feel more secure and your not always looking in on them. I find that can spook them a little bit.

If I was you I would send the 300 dollar rack back and just do as I say. Turn the heat up in your house or just loop heat take like an S shape though the bins so they have something.

In nature the snakes get most of there heat in the morning time so that is primarily when they need it as well. I also keep some young normal females together and they seem to be best buddies that is always an option. You can move one snake into another ones, and keep these 3 together in quarantine.

This isn't a discussion on your personal opinions of husbandry. Start a topic in the discussion groups if you wish to talk about the worthiness of rack systems in general.

RB is awesome! I have never had a problem with any orders and in fact the one time the shipping locations needed to be changed RB was more than understanding and willing to work with me.

I have five RB hatchling racks. I love them. Shipping is incredibly fast. Rich's customer service is awesome.

My one caveat is that I inquired about the hatchling racks being escape-proof for hatchling corns. I was told they were; my very first hatchling ever escaped (and was quickly recovered). I shimmed the bins with cardboard- no big deal- and have never had another escape. I've since started lining the shelves with rubber shelf liner held down with aluminum tape, which is a perfect solution. It would obviously be nearly impossible to manufacture a rack so tight that 8 gram babies can't get out- but with shimming,no one is going anywhere and I will continue to buy the same rack in future expansion, as well as recommend them to anyone inquiring.

I have nothing but great things to say about Rich and his crew. I dont have a rack from them, but i buy all my other stuff from them. The fastest shipping i have ever seen. Same day i order, they ship out. Love it. All my Ve thermostats i bought from him work perfectly.
The special request on my heat tape set up was no problem to him. My 3 year old stuff still running well.
