Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Seeing as how I'm not a big poster here or anything and I tend to only browse the classifies with the semi-detour into the BOI...it was brought to my attention during this thread that a certain other reptile site can't be mentioned.

And it's only that site, apparently.

What I want to know is why? Where is there on this site that says members are not allowed to talk about them? Isn't that a bit childish?

I googled it, I searched for it, but can't seem to find any relevant information on why the **** aka ****** can't be mentioned. I think mentioning it here should be ok since it's the topic. (oh, and nice word filter you have there...it vanishes if you post the letters together.) :rolleyes:

At a time when things are all up in a ruckus with Andrew Wyatt leaving USARK; Ohio passing some crazy ban; and HSUS pursuing legislation, I think it's high-time that we all unite and form a common bond. It ONLY benefits us if we do. Like the saying goes: United we stand, divided we fall.

Sorry, that's 2 subjects, but good questions IMO.

I'm not trying to get a rise out of you with malicious intent..it was an honest question. I mentioned it here so that future visitors to your site will know that it has been discussed and which one not to mention.

I am a member there, but I don't read all the threads there. I am friends with Larry, the owner, but that doesn't mean I don't look at other sites.

I guess that there is no real discussion then. You didn't even answer my questions. :/

Is there no way to have a civil discussion?

And what REALLY kills me is that my oldest sister died from cancer back in 2008. Her name was Lucille. So I dislike arguing or whatever with that name. :(

Because I didn't know it was against the rules until last night and since it is on this site, shouldn't I ask webslave?

If the roles were reversed and I was at TFTSNBN, then I would ask Larry. As it is, the rule is here....somewhere....

I would like to know if it was a rule. then why would you not post it as a rule. I thought I was being nice what I did a screen shot that no one could see where from to show what waren he was saying. as he said a lot more on the other site that was not said here. Webslave said no 3rd party posting if it could not be backed up. so I did a screen shot of just his words. I get infraction. said when there was a lot more info at the time and I was stopped from letting people have it. I too don't post on here much at all, but I still have always paid to this site. I now don't know if I will ever post animals or pay to be part of site again being I was shot down and given no good reason for it. I can under stand you dont want that site named here. fine it your site. But post that in rules and don't give infractions when a person has no Idea and clam the infraction as something that had nothing to do with what I did. I made it so no one could see where my screen shot was from. I see the real reason of why you say what you do about Democracy, cause It is a Totalitarianism here. People all need to come together for the greater good of us keeping our reptiles.

this site is not a democracy, it belongs to Rich and he can do as he sees fit.

Charles, as I explained to you during our many PMs back and forth, your infraction was because you posted info directly from a site which is not allowed on here. Specifically you did so right after I posted saying it's not allowed. It had nothing to do with 'anonymous' statement.

Bingo. That's what gets people into trouble. They're warned not to do it, then someone comes along and does it. Trust me, I did pretty much the same thing myself one time, took my infraction in stride, and then changed my behavior because I value fauna as a place to hang out. Rich doesn't like it? Sure thing boss, won't do it again.

If someone doesn't like that one of the few rules Rich gives us here, I'm sure you won't be missed. It really is making a mountain out of a molehill. :shrug01:
 
Thats all fine. I understand now that the said site is a no go. I am not complaining about that, My proble is why the hell it is not in the rules any where. AbsoluteApril you still never showed me where. 2nd you said posting a link could not be done. I posted a pic that never showed where it was from. It showed a lot more of what Dr. Booth had to say. I just want to know why It can't be put in the rules so people know and don't get a infraction first to find out. jasballs you are not part of this, so if you don't want to read then you move on. Shadera I was not warned what I did was wrong. I thought doing how I did was good. As I said why can't rules be clear. I took my infraction over a year ago after rules got changed about location as I listed twincites MN and not Shoreview MN. That was my fault as I didn't keep up with the changes.
 
Nope there is no *official* rule about it. Which is why you didn't get any *official* infractions for it. But continuing to flaunt my request will have every bit the repercussions of violating the rules of this site. Let's just call it *my* rule.

It's a personal decision on my part. I was accused of engaging in illegal activities by members on that site, including Larry. I was threatened with physical violence. I was called nearly every profane and derogatory name in the book there.

Larry is just lucky that was not interested in playing in attorney's offices and courtrooms. I've just got better things to do with my time.

So, that site is just simply not welcome to be mentioned here in any fashion.

Anyone who does so will have their post edited to remove the reference. If it continues, then that member will be escorted out the door because of their then noted malicious intent.

If you need any further elaboration, you will have to continue that elsewhere other than on this site. This is all the explanation that is necessary or will be forthcoming.

Last time I checked I was part of this since 2004 :shrug01: You want to know why Rich doesnt want that site mentioned here it is simple. He doesnt LIKE them. End of story! He doesnt have to put it out there. His warning for not saying it here should be enough.
 
Can someone please PM me what this black marked website is? I don't wish to incite any further arguments, but I truly have no idea what anyone is talking about and I'd rather not get in trouble for something I'm genuinely ignorant of.

Rich I am not and never was fighting over people being able to talk about them. I personally never go on there site or like it. I only went to it cause someone on facebook said Dr. Booth was there talking about whats been going on. I can't even say name of it as I am unsure of what it is called lol I just went to link that was given. I didn't need a reason why you didn't want it done. As it is your site and can do as you wish. I just was wanting to know why I did get the infraction I did get when there was nothing in the rules. I would think I have every right to ask that. I was keeping it off any post and was only talking to AbsoluteApril about it till this post was made in witch I thought you said this should be talked about here. She was cool about it all but I was only really told you didn't want it. That is fine. I just wish if there are going to be rules that they are posted so people don't find out when it is to late.
Again jasballs I don't care if you where here when fauna was started. And I didn't get a warning. I got a Infraction, so I think I have a right to ask what I have. I have not once said his rules are wrong in any way. I said not being told till after I got the infraction was.
