    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Anthony J McCain

Sickening and just terrifying. Mr. Solis, I remember when you first posted the pic on FB and even in my wildest dreams would I never wouldve thought it would create such a storm. I feel bad that you have gone through such a horrendous nightmare. Despite everything that has been said and everything that has happened, you have kept your cool and shown what a good person you are. You didn't let this guy drag you down to his level. Most people wouldnt have been able to do that. It is truly admirable.
To Jen, I know how hard it must've been to keep all that in, especially with the conditions in which he keeps everything. I'm sure this has and continues to be terrifying for you, it took a lot of courage to tell everyone all this especially since it was also something quite personal. He scares the heck out of me and im not even involved! Thank you for sharing and I hope things work out for you and that you can put this behind you.
Now what can we do? This guy def needs hopitalized or imprisoned before he can abuse or hurt anyone or anything else. Rich is right, ignoring it won't make it better. Boycotting him is good but it still isn't enough. I agree with Dan that people will continue to buy from him either because of ignorance or because they don't really care. So now what?

Had an extra "would" in there. That's what happens when I type with someone talking to me. Lol. Sorry.


Forgive my ignorance, and i know this prob isnt the place to ask, but I have never heard the term "maintenance" feeding. Obviously am kinda new to the hobby, but can someone explain what that means. Have a general idea but figured I would ask. Thank you!

"Maintenance feeding" is feeding the snake the minimum amount of food to keep it alive until you can sell it. Feeders = $$$ and lots of people put $$$ before the well being of their animals.
 
So, apparently if you end up knowing more than Mr. McCain, or suggesting that he could potentially be wrong about something, he is more than happy to threaten your life...

I just figured this was a good place to mention this encounter.

It has nothing to do with Mr. McCain's animals, customer service, etc... however should be a more than ample reminder to everyone just how much of a sociopath this guy is...

I would suggest to ANYONE that decides to consider doing business with this guy, "Please do your research first"...



Note: The messages from him were prompted by a debate that started on his facebook page... A debate where he began arguing a point he had no understanding of... and when I proved him to be wrong using science, and statistics (mostly simple math), he FLIPPED OUT... as he tends to do...

He is a nobody, love the great chip on his shoulder.

Must of missed this weeks pills... GUy does this all the time when someone with actual common sense or and education shows him up he goes nuts.
 
As someone who struggles with mental illness, I have to say...there are good people with mental illnesses and there are bad people. Having bipolar is not a good excuse for his behavior, it simply makes it harder for him to hide his true nature.

I hope that people will not judge other folks with mental illnesses based on a few genuinely bad people in the hobby who have them.

I know that I for one wouldn't... No need to worry about that... I judge individuals based on their OWN actions, not on the actions of others that may or may not have common characteristics...

I'd LIKE to think that others would do the same... however I know all too well that is rarely the case...

Undoubtedly there are plenty of people who will read my statement and judge me based on it. I felt it was important though. Too often I see bad guys use mental illness as an excuse and it really burns me to see that. They need to assume some personal responsibility for their actions instead of pretending that this is normal for people with mental illnesses.

Anyone who judges you on that isn't worth listening to. Everyone in the world has their up and down days - it's all a matter of degree - there really is no "Normal", and I agree it shouldn't be an excuse to do just anything you feel like.
 
Who didn't see this coming? And is there anyone local who can let animal control know that this guy has animals that may need tending to?

Rural Jefferson Man Arrested after making threats to Police Officers and President

Jefferson, Iowa -- The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson Police Department located 42-year-old Anthony James McCain of rural Jefferson, Friday morning around 11:32. He was parked outside the Jefferson Public Library. An Order for his Committal was issued after McCain had allegedly made threats towards police officers, President Barak Obama and other businesses and individuals. McCain was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for a preliminary evaluation before being transferred to the State Mental Health Facility in Cherokee. Wow

I would say with 100% confidence that the majority of people I have met over the last 10 years in the reptile community (Mostly other breeders and show venders) are some of the nicest, honest, trustworthy, caring and helpful individuals I have ever met.

There are a few exceptions and unfortunately, Anthony appears to be one of those exceptions. With all of his accomplishments, I sure hope his actions/ behavior doesn't create a negative impact on others in the hobby.

Sounds like he needs to get some serious help and maybe a daily dosage of some heavy medication. We should all wish and hope he is able to get the proper treatment he needs.
