• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Once you escalate a dispute to a claim, Paypal renders a decision. The other party make be hesitant to give you a refund after escalation because Paypal may refund simultaneously.

I can and would drop the dispute as soon as a refund was issued... also, since I paid through paypal, they can and should refund the money through paypal, which would drop the dispute automatically.

I hope that the results are posted. I do feel that the OP is correct in that they did not receive what they paid for. But I also doubt that PayPal will side in their favor. Folks will learn either way from the result.

Yes. Matt Knowles is correct that the Rat Deli is owned by the brothers and parents of said teenagers. While I think it's great they are venturing into a business and learning the responsibility and rewards of; they are going about it all wrong.
I have watched the threads and spoken with Diem on other sites about the situation. Not saying much because everything I can bare witness to is with my own eyes and ears. I do not have a paper trail, text or e-mails and I understand you take it for what it is worth without that kind of evidence.
I work for one of these 'competitors' they mention and I can assure you there is no jealousy. That part is quite funny and grin a little every time I hear it or even say it. Grinning right now. Anyway....When they first got started we tried to be welcoming and helpful. There are other rodent suppliers in this state that we work with and send business more local to them as they do with us. It is a civil competition. Don't think they understood that because they tried to play us all against each other. I do find it silly they use the term "jealous" when we have reports from buyers of slander (about the business and personally about the owners) and RD trying to take our customers from us. We have not attempted to encroach on their customer base; we don't even base our sales online (yet) and our feeder customers are for the most part local repeat buyers from long time relationships; business and personal friends.
Hope that brings some clarity to what Matt said. Feel free to PM with any questions and I will try to check back in for any posted.

In these temps those pinkies should never of thawed out nor would dry ice dissipate that fast. It seems as if the package was never packed properly, thrown together early in the day and set aside at room temp till UPS picked up.

Thus only staying Cool/Cold during shipment but not frozen.

I finally got my order 3 weeks after I placed it with zero communication from them until the morning I actually received it. I woke up to a response to one of my 3 emails that just said "Your order has shipped".

When I got home from work I had 3 huge boxes on my porch for an order that the real Rat Deli would have had packed into one box. There was loose dry ice cubes all through the boxes with more than half of the space in the boxes not even being filled.

The real Rat Deli sent their product neatly arranged on meat trays and vacuum sealed, these were in Ziploc bags that had cracked and ripped open from the dry ice. Most of the bags had the wrong quantity in them and the sizes vary wildly. They sent me "large" rats the size of rabbits, I have one snake that is even big enough to eat them.

The new Rat Deli SUCKS! Time to find a new supplier after I use up what I can of the crap product I received. I loved the old Rat Deli, really too bad they're ruining Norman's name and reputation that I'm sure he worked very hard to earn. I understand being new to a business and needing time to get your bearings, but this was just a horrible experience in every possible way. Not acceptable. Never again.

I wish I had waited and checked here before I placed my order (1/17/14). Now I am super nervous whether I will ever receive my order and/or what condition it will be when it gets here :/

Call Leave message and Email stating you want to cancel order. If shipped you will refuse shipment and file charge back!

I placed an order on Monday Jan 20th still in pending status. I just called and left message and send email to cancel order and refund money.

This just seems like one big cluster :censored:!

I could never find respect for those who would buy themselves in any type of business with no experience, knowledge, or care for what it is they're doing.

Makes you wonder how they are euthanizing the rodents, since they lack respect for anything else..

After this name is ruined, I bet you they'll have a new name soon..

Hope everyone gets their money back from this distasteful excuse of a business.

I wonder if the previous owner has any idea of what they are doing, someone should seek them out and let them know. Depending on the sale of the business name, there could be a breech of contract....

If the rats are not arriving frozen, I would be concerned about what went on back at the business, and how long the rats sit before they are frozen. If they do not have the 'arrive frozen' down, it may be that they do not have the rest of the process down either.
There might be health concerns for critters who eat improperly processed rats.

I agree I'm hoping they refund order. I'm sure I'm like others who heard the rat deli and didn't even bother to look here as it sounds like it used to be a very reliable and reputable place to order rodents. I'm talking about old owner not current business.

Here's what I got this morning from PayPal. There has still been no reply from the rat deli... This as you can see automatically closes the claim, and now I'm a happy customer thanks to paypal protection.

I am glad you got your money back and now hopefully everyone will be aware of the fact even tho the name is the same the owners and obviously the service are totally sub par.

My order actually came in today even though the website still says pending. All rats where frozen and packaged nicely and rats look clean.

They didn't return any of my emails so they need to work on customer services.

Did they pack them with any dry ice at all? How far do you live from North Carolina?... I think you probably lucked out.

I'm in PA and it was only 10 degrees outside so probably didn't even need ice :)

There was very little dry ice in containers, never got a shipping email and site status still says pending on order.

For the few people receiving rats on yellow trays while others are clearly not (I see Stephanie has a grab bag of sorts) those are likely the last of the original Rat Deli stock that they received and that is why they are still packaged that way.

Other shipments clearly show they have no interest in vacuuming sealing themselves.
