I find this whole thing fairly amusing... I've won three Anthony Caponetto Reptiles auctions, and had no issue following the links provided to purchase my geckos through their online store. I received a receipt in my email, as well as a Paypal receipt, and then proceeded to set up shipping per the detailed instructions provided. I received three geckos that looked exactly like their pictures, and could not be happier with them.

Personally, I think that's about as professional as it gets, and as easy as it gets. No haggling, no nonsense, just pay for what you want, and receive it.

I'm quite sure the OP never paid, this whole thing just reeks of an axe to grind.

Considering that Anthony can no longer reply (banned), and the OP refuses to post proof of payment, etc., I think this thread is "dead in the water".

As far as I am concerned, Anthony did not make himself look too good (with his "holier than thou" attitude, etc.) but, since the OP refuses to post his proof of payment, etc., (and as long as he does not post proof), I will consider his allegations as false.

The second issue,, guess as someone outside.. I don't see how.. the health or quality of the animals in regards to this thread is even relevant.. the animal has not changed hands yet, care of the animal in the OP hands, let alone what the seller is shipping.. nope not a question.. the animal has not changed hands.. this is a payment or not issue..

I did pay, the seller says no.. so.. how about showing each side of this proof??


Third issue, giving advise to the OP by moderators. how to provide said proof.. is not bashing the seller.. Heck there are a ton of "not provable" claims by the OP about now harassment issues.. but the fact remains both the seller and buyer dispute the first issue.. bid and did not pay.. would be ASKING the moderators to please.. make sure the OP can and been shown how.. so "I don't" know how is not a factor.. also so I could see what the op feels is proof and express my side..

I Hope to heck, this is a simple non payment issue.. I hope to heck the op is mistaken, or hell lied.. but even if so.. a lie or simple lost payment issue..

Evidence is not required. If you don't have any, you don't have any. If you do have evidence and have said so, and don't post it, people may wonder and give your story less credence.
As in real life, judging how much weight to give a person's words and whether you ultimately believe them depends on a number of factors: How well they set out their case, whether they have a history and whether that history is positive or negative, and the nature and quality of the evidence they bring.

Is English not your first language? I only ask because your typing leaves a LOT to be desired, and is extremely hard to understand.

If the OP paid, then he should have posted proof (no it is not "required," only requested.) OP kept saying he would post proof, and has yet to return to this thread. Anthony (AJC) got banned because he was being out of line to the mods and to the owner of this site. If he wouldn't have been such a smart-alec and obnoxious about the way that this site runs, then he might still be here.

As for the OP not being banned for not providing evidence...That's not something that they ban for on this site. (Though him having 2 accounts, and not disputing it, might be something that gets him in trouble according to the rules.)

I've done lots of business with Anthony and have been satisfied every time. I feel that people in the hobby sometimes need to realize the difference between a business breeder and a hobby breeder. Not everyone likes the way they are treated by all business' in general , but that's the amazing thing about having freedom of choice. If you don't like how a business serves you as a customer you are entitled to keeping your money and going somewhere else with your business. I'd assume not everyone likes the people who work at Versace stores or Ferrari dealerships or even your local pantry, but because you don't like their attitude doesn't mean they do bad business and that's a fact. It's so interesting how some people in the reptile community automatically believe the most amazing friendship is going to stem from purchasing a gecko or a reptile from someone when that's just not true . I mean are you best friends with your mechanic ? Or the person at dominoes that makes your pizza ? Have you ever invited the cashier at your local store that has rang you out over for dinner ? Right . It wasn't productive for Anthony to lash out at the mods but I can understand why it happened. When so many people talk so much to try and do everything to portray you as the evil empire ruler , an evil person, or just to black ball you in the industry it's not a wonder someone feels they have to be on edge. I'm not excusing his behavior I can just understand it. As far as the rest of the thread . Seems like John has identity crisis Moore than anything ironic how in that other thread he also never showed up to post proof . This seems like an open and shut case of someone purchased a healthy animal , then had buyers remorse so instead of being a man about it and asking for a refund which he wasn't entitled to and he knew it he decided, knowing Anthony was probably already pissed off, to bring it to somewhere Anthony's attitude would surface for a crowd.

I would start with asking myself why that was the case. Having read Anthony's responses here, I'd say it was brought on by himself. Being in business isn't for everyone. If I were Anthony, I'd hire someone to handle the customers, because his PR capabilities are sorely lacking.

See their business will still go on , it will still be another day in the office day in and day out after that manager swore at you . You may not come back , alas others will eat regardless of your feelings about it just because the product is what it is. Remember the animal's quality and health were not in question here. It was a customer feeling ill about the way the customer service was handled. Which yes if you're an employee for a large corporation , it may not fair well for you with corporate ,but when you own your own place. The same rules don't apply

Nope, never been a customer of Anthony's, and from what I have seen here, I certainly never will be. Heck, he could be selling $20 bills for $5 each and I still wouldn't do business with him. I sure wouldn't want to sully his lily white hands with my grubby money.

But I believe he has advertised on this site in the past, so he has been a customer of mine back then. Not that that will ever happen again. I certainly have no desire whatsoever to help promote, even passively, ANY endeavor Anthony embarks on.

Actually Rich, I'll be completely honest - you and your site are beneath me. Yep, I said it. This place is a scourge on our hobby, it reeks of white-trash Jerry Springer show behavior, and the screwed up part is it's because YOU LIKE IT THIS WAY.

As for my being "beneath" Anthony, and by implication everyone else on this site as well, I guess I just haven't stumbled on even the tiniest scrap of evidence to support his statement. That's quite a claim for someone to make for a site that has over 90,000 registered members! I guess no one has ever told the guy that just because you say something is so, and think something is so, doesn't necessarily MAKE it so. Seriously, if Anthony had all that much on the ball, and so highly elevated in stature above everyone else, you would think he would have a much higher station in life than he does just breeding animals for a living. One would think he would at the very least be a CEO of some Fortune500 company. I don't think I have ever even heard of anyone else in this, or any other, business who had such an ivory tower opinion of themselves. And I've met some pretty successful people along the way.

I will say this, though. This site certainly does have it's fair share of *interesting* characters pass through it. A laugh a minute sometimes.....

In any case, let's not mistake his behavior as anything for less than an orchestrated meltdown/tantrum with the soul purpose of acting the hotshot behind the scenes avering how he sure showed Fauna who they were messing with while tee heeing all the while. His holier than thou drivel was pathetic. He said in post 109 that "you and your site are beneath me". Yet that didn't stop him from submitting around 20 posts before that comment and 7 more after. If he didn't take this site seriously, he wouldn't have been concerned about his "livelihood" in post 86. Just sayin'. After reading this thread, I wouldn't buy a cloud from ypur deity buddy.

Well, in a sense, there is ... via reviews.
Among other negative aspects (if a negative review), I have seen some mention bad/poor/unacceptable behavior by the staff, &/or owner, which makes them not wish to return and they also advise others not to go to that restaurant/business.
Poor reviews can negatively affect, and has affected, some businesses (restaurants and other companies). The amount of negative affect, to different companies, does vary though.
