In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Alyy White Spindown Reptiles

No one did anything to me or threatened me! A valid point was made, I chose to apologize! Everyone makes mistakes! I'm willing to recognize mine and apologize when I'm wrong. Seems like you just want to feed into it!

You were the one trying to delete things from a board where it's expressly forbidden to do so. Excuse me for pointing out that your immature rear end is now here for everyone to see and witness...and there's nothing you can do about it.

Valid points were made by Nickolas. I'm wrong for posting this, I should've calmed down before reacting! There was no wrong done by alyy. I wish I would've known about the considering bids, she has no obligation to me. That's not how I conduct business but everyone has a right to their own. Alyy did give a apology, I should've just accepted it and let it go. Sometimes we have bad days, today's mine! I do apologize for making this post I will remove it if I can.

I appreciate that you took this step back and came to a refreshed conclusion. These threads are not removed, but you can do what you can to better the outcome and the biggest piece to do that is what you just said, so I thank you for that.

Ah ah. There is NO REMOVING THINGS FROM THE BOI. So your shame is here for all to see....it's shameful the admins had to step in to slap your s**t.

I do not think any admins stepped in or felt the need. I think we should, at this point, accept the apology and seek to move forward positively. People reading this will see that the seller was not outside of her remit and that the prospective buyer who originally felt wronged was able to change her perspective and own up to the earlier mistake. Instead of exacerbating anything now, I think the goal should be to soothe and repair the situation we are left with. I, for one, will make the extra effort to be kind about this going forward.

Tballs, I really respect that you could step back from the situation and admit a mistake. Not everyone can do that, and I know just like everyone else how hard it can be, especially publicly, to admit that. It is very big of you, and I really appreciate it.

Please, no more about this here, I think we've gotten this issue resolved.

Again, thank you T.

I too wish this could be removed, although I completely understand the policy...this will be the first thing anyone sees about me here, as I've only been a breeder for two years...and it was a misunderstanding :(

Terry I am impressed by your reconsideration, it takes maturity and courage to do that.

This happened to myself earlier this year, it just goes to show that some breeders will not just sell to anyone. That they do care for the animals, more than making money. I can respect that in a breeder.

I have learned one thing here, definitely have my stuff together before I start posting in BOI.

Terry, it's a tough thing to do but good job manning up.

I"d post the ads, but I didn't bother to screen shot them, as I didn't for see this. I removed them when I found the right person. Clearly I will have to do so in the future, I've never had anything like this happen, so I'm very sorry I have nothing to share from the original ad.

While it appears that a lot of the responses are friends of the seller, I am astounded that people seem 100% on her side. If someone offers to sell me an animal for $650 and I accept that offer, I have a binding agreement, and should get that animal unless I fail to pay in a reasonable time. Although it would be nice to see the emails.

Where in the messages do you see that she "accepted" the offer. I see where she said, "let's talk over the phone."

I will reiterate, since it seems to have been missed the first time - Alyy and I were not friends prior to this. Even then, I would say acquaintance, since we have not spoken until now.

I agree, there was no acceptance here. Most advertisements are invitations for offers, you do not complete the offer/acceptance process merely by saying you want the item.

After reading the messages I can see how the op thought they had a deal. I would have been upset too. If you offer to pay the asking price and the seller tells you they'll let you know when they get shipping supplies what would you think?

Bobby there's still a lot of negotiating to do. Investigation of probable homes...they hadn't even gotten to inquiring about the other on other boards or asking about husbandry yet. Deals like this for such nice northerns (and sexed northerns to boot) take a few days to set up. During that time the seller is allowed to have as many deals doing on as they please, and make the right decision for the animals when the time comes to extend a paypal address.

You're clearly biased here. If I agree to pay the asking price I don't expect there to be any more negotiating. I'm not saying the seller had to sell to the op but I can easily see how the op thought they had a deal. You're looking as bad as anyone here with your one-sided cheerleading.

What if several people agree to pay the asking price? What if none of them expect there to be any more negotiating? How are someone's thoughts someone else's responsibility?

The asking price in most ads is an invitation for an offer, not the offer itself, except in very specific circumstances. Further, there are always further details such as shipping.

So if someone says the price is $650 it doesn't really mean the price is $650? Where did you come up with that? I'm not saying the op is a "bad guy" but if you can't see how the op thought he was buying the lizards and was then disappointed when he found out that he wasn't then I don't know what else to say. He reacted poorly and understands that now.

I see the below as accepting an offer to sell at $650 with a discussion pending on how to pay ie Paypal or credit card or check or MO.

I contacted Spindown reptiles about a pair of Northern Blue tongues. I asked her what was the price for the pair? She said " $650 plus shipping" several emails passed, I said I would take them! I wanted to speak over the phone before payment, She said " I'll call tonight" After several hours passed the time she said she would call, she said "I'll call tomorrow". I agreed, then 10 mins. Later I received an email saying she had another offer!
