In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My daughter picked her very first snake at the Cow Palace expo on 3-21-2015, we put a deposit on Aodh, who we later renamed Duke.

I asked all the right questions *before* bringing him home....please see the attached screenshots.

We met up with Siren at the Lodi show on 4-27-2015 and brought Duke home.

He was admitted to the vet on 6-12-2015 with a really bad RI. I messaged Siren on 6-19-2015 and have never heard back. They don't have a website, their facebook doesn't list a phone number, and today I happened to find out there was a guy who also got a sick snake from them, from the *same* Lodi show.

I suspect Duke was sold to us with a mild RI.

He is still fighting for his life, and definitely not yet in the clear. As you can imagine we have grown quite attached to Duke. I was not a snake person before then, and now I would be devastated if he doesn't beat this.

I did not expect to get a snake that was going to ultimately cost nearly $1000...only to have him knocking on death's door.

Siren chose to disregard my messages to them asking for contact, yet they made a post on 7-21-2015 saying they will be closing up shop…and a few posts on their page before that.

As you can see in the screenshot, somewhere in their collection they did have RI in the winter, as they did admit it.

I understand that there are some health concerns swirling around all of this, but honestly, Aiden could have taken Diana's customer service reins. No contact is poor business. And hindsight is 20/20, as stated in my reply to their 7-21 post.

I was contacted by Jennifer earlier today after she saw the post I made on Siren's facebook page. I was surprised to hear that another person had a snake with an RI (from the same show no less) as I was told that it was an isolated incident. Needless to say it was a message I was not expecting.

As I stated in my BOI thread, they did eventually end up contacting me and refunding me in full for everything. Diana also personally contacted me and apologized again last week. It sounded like she was trying to make things right with everyone, which is why I was surprised to hear from Jennifer that she had also messaged them but still received no response.

I'm sorry your guy is sick and I hope he pulls through. Unfortunately I don't know of any vendor who gives a 6+ week health guarantee.

That said, if yours does die then please consider getting a necropsy on him and post the results. If it turns out your snake has one of the nastier viral infections then anyone else who purchased a snake from this seller should know that, as some of those diseases can have a long incubation period.

Normally I would completely agree with you, but the fact that I received a snake from the exact same show on the exact same day with the exact same symptoms gives pretty viable evidence that the RI was pre-existing. Too much of a coincidence to say that the snake was not already sick when it was purchased. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's very difficult to notice a snake with a respiratory infection during the early stages unless you're actually looking for it.

I am not.following. How is that evidence that the RI was preexisting?

Hate to quote myself, but I meant to add from the same vendor. We both purchased our snakes from Siren on the same day, but mine had such an advanced RI that it was noticeable as soon as I got her home.

I purchased a snake from Siren from the same show on the same day as the OP. My snake, as soon as I got her home, had an extremely advanced RI to the point that she was gurgling...how I didn't notice at the show I don't know. It seems like more than just a coincidence that the OP's snake, that was purchased from the same person, on the same day, at the same place, ended up having an RI as well. I would have a harder time believing that it randomly got an RI than I would believing that it was pre-existing and just in the beginning stages.

Thank you.

I believe you missed the part where this breeder is closing it's doors.

Why? One took over a month for symptoms to be noticed.

I'm not going to claim to be an expert because as I stated in my BOI thread, the snake I got from them is the only snake I have ever had with an RI...but isn't it the case that sometimes RI's will show up in a couple days-week, and sometimes they lay dormant for weeks or months and suddenly show up from stress?
