Reptster.com experience with show sponsorship not good

I wanted to let you know that my wife, my sister, and i are doing everything we can to get people to your show to make it a success. Some of this you already know. We have also been inviting people from another forum we are on, we should have a good group of people coming with us. Also, I've made sure that the bulletin boards in every store we go into in the Lancaster area have a copy of your show flyer posted there.

Your show will be a success, a lot of people are behind you to make sure that it happens. If you need any help at all before, during, or after the show, let us know. We're with you.

You all are amazing! You have had me and Matt sitting here laughing so hard we are almost crying! In times like this, it is really tough to stay professional, so we will just let you guys have fun and say things we could never say!

As far as offers for money, the first thing I can say is thank you all. We have talked about this, and it just wouldn't feel right to us to take people's money without something in return. It is just not how we are. Sure, this missing sponsorship hit us hard, but we are sure that it will all work out in the end. So we will respectfully decline. If you really want to donate to a good cause and do something good for the show, we would ask that you find a good reptile rescue and donate the money there - those guys need it more than we ever will. But the heart you all have for this is incredible, and it means the world to us both.

We want to put out an offer to Rich. At this point in time, we have an open table at the show, and instead of just pushing some other vendor into it, we would like to in some way show our appreciation to Fauna, Rich and all of the members here by doing some sort of advertising for Fauna on that table. This, of course, would be at no charge to Rich or anyone else. We would also like to put up some banner advertising on the website main page.

Rich, please get in touch with us soon so we can arrange something. If you have any sort of fliers or banners or such that you would allow us to put up to help advertise the site, we would like to arrange getting them from you before the show. Also, you need to pick a banner for us to put on the website.

I will be sending Rich a PM to let him know about this as well, in case he doesn't see it on his own...

Why don't you allow your friends to contribute towards Fauna's table and expenses? You can list their names as Fauna contributors.

People keep saying it doesn't matter what the price was but it does. It means they didn't agree on a price.. Only the they know what was said on the phone.
I wouldn't attend the show as I disagree with how the OP posted this and I wouldn't use Repster as I choose to ship without a middle man so I don't have a dog in this fight.
The funny thing is we expect others to understand us and not make laws regarding reptiles yet some within the herp community insist on calling people childish names like "idiots
because of what they say. Why not ban or at least suspend those calling names. It was said it would be done but of course nothing will happen except excuses why it wasn't done.
Neither one of the people involved will likely succeed with all this back and forth and they will just be additional victims of posting here..

You must have missed the part where Dennis verified the e-mails the OP were legit. The reason I say that is there is one e-mail where David stated he would send payment. That generally means a price was agreed on there Sherlock.

All three would have made him look like he had at least a modicum of integrity and he could have gone on business as usual. No one here would have given it a second thought.

He had plenty to gain by posting. He just decided to act like a weasel when he did. His choice, not Kelly’s.

BTW, referring to Terry as an idiot is not name calling. it is a logical observation based on his posts in this thread

All I will say is that I will leave that up to Rich at this time to decide on exactly how he would want to do things, if at all. We want everyone to know that this decision was made simply because Rich has allowed this situation to come to his forum, and because the members here have supported us so much that we feel we should find a way to give back. It in no way was about money to us. We are big about giving back, and we want to give back here as much as we can as well.

Buy every table at their show it's your right as it's mine not to deal with either of these people.

Ooo! I like this idea too! I'm too fat and preggo to do the show this time around, but I planned on it for next summer. I can mail out my donation/fee and cards Monday to get on the the table for advertising.

I have to say, that is something we never even thought of, and I am impressed by your thinking. And I don't think we can say no to that idea...we would feel that those that choose to do this would be getting something from a donation they would be paying.

If anyone wants to become an official "Supporter" of the Central PA Reptile Expo, you can send us some 8 1/2" x 11" fliers as well as any business cards, and they will be put out on a table to help advertise your business. I will also create a page on the site for the show called "Our Supporters" that will explain that the people listed here may not be in attendance, but are supporting the show in other ways (or something similar), and will put up links or banners that you all send to me in an email for advertising there as well. Any size banner will do, as I can always resize if needed.
Also, this will be considered strictly a donation, and we will NOT be setting a price on this at all.
If you need the address, it is on the webpage for the site (www.pareptileexpo.kordekskritters.com), and please drop me an email at [email protected] to let me know if you are going to do this. Also, send any banner or text links for the Supporters page to that email. I will work on getting that page set up tomorrow.
Please understand that for professional reasons and possible conflicts of interest, we will reserve the right to decline any donations made, and will return any materials or monies to those we feel it would be inappropriate to receive those from.

Oh , I totally agree you can't see the forest for the trees. It is quite clear that the idea of looking at what was brought by the OP and verified by Dennis completely escapes you.

I never said one thing about your rights. You have every right to bring idiotic arguments to the table as much as you want. Try not to get butthurt so much when folks with a brain in their head that can read and make a determination by what is presented don't agree with you.

Its already been stated that we won't have the full story due to the phone calls and since your boy couldn't grab his cojanes hard enough to put up a big boy post , we had to determine which side was likely the right one. Sucks to be if you if the masses didn't pick your boy.

I can not believe that a show promoter is trying to crush a new show that isn't even competition in the area. You should be supporting and encouraging new shows. It's good for everyone in the industry!

We call that little wee wee syndrome around here. You know, when it makes you feel better to bring someone else down.
