In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware of Dragonfortress Edwin Sanders

Other than the OP I don't see where anyone sees you as a "Bad Guy" and given her jumping the gun attempted extortion and typical I'm gonna have my lawyer ($2500) get involved to collect this $200 I don't see where that counts much.
If you are shipping with heat packs please tape them on the top or side of the box and not in with the animals, if that is what you really did.

Psst....you forgot about Jerry.

Psst....you forgot about Jerry.

Eh, Mr. Tresser's post was made prior to all the facts being presented. I am fairly certain that where he to read through this thread now he would not see Mr. Sanders as a totally bad guy. Also his point is usually quite true, most of these things are not first time happenings. Quite often they are only first time to be reported on the BOI as this one was.
The fact is Mr. Sanders did report that he had one other problem and settled the complaint, as he did here.
I do hope Mr. Sanders will learn from his mistakes and remember what he has learned from them. If not we will eventually see another post like this one which might actually make the "Bad Guy" title stick. Not because he did not make things right but because of the animals being killed needlessly.
Personally I have a problem with anyone shipping a Beardie under 6 inches, a baby, but that did not seem to be an issue here.

what does that mean? and no i haven't

Sorry, it's just one of those expressions you assume everyone's heard. When someone says "That's like the pot calling the kettle black", it's a simile describing how silly it sounds for someone who is guilty of something to call out or otherwise denigrate another person/party for said same offense. In this case, it is humorous that you of all people are trying to pin this situation on him "being new", when it's quite obvious to everyone reading that there are TWO newbies in this scenario. One of them has been confrontational, rude, overly demanding, and threatening, and one of them has been apologetic, accommodating, conciliatory, and amicable. I am curious as to which one of the two you feel you are, because anyone who has read this thread already knows.

My advice? You're a newbie as well. You need to learn to take a deep breath and calm down if you expect to ever get the customer service you desire. He offered a full refund almost immediately,by his own words (that you have not disputed), and you should have taken it. End of story. He is ONLY obligated to you for either the dragons you ordered, a replacement when/if available, or a full refund of your money. He is NOT obligated to give you whatever ridiculous amount of replacement animals on whatever unrealistic timeframe you desire. Sometimes, you just can't have it your way.

Unless his business was "Burger King Reptiles", then maybe. It would still have to be part of his TOS, though. Heh.

p.s. -- I would get a new fake lawyer. The fake lawyer you have currently retained to take your nonexistent case is giving you horrible advice, and obviously knows nothing about the shipping industry. It will get you in some pretty awkward situations if you try to take the advice he's giving you to court.

i haven't talked to him yet but thanks for the advice. i had 220 dollars on the line and it still isn't in my account. i am hoping he will refund it tomorrow. i need it to buy some dragons from a very sweet couple. thanks.

I am contacting my lawyer and he is pretty upset about it.

i haven't talked to him yet but thanks for the advice.

So....if you haven't even talked to your "lawyer" yet...how do you know that he's so upset about it all? I thought he was the one giving you all of the info about shipping farm and zoo animals, and such?

I don't know, I think Edwin has been bending over backwards to do what's right here...and something stinks.

i will leave it up to edwin to decide if i should post them. there was deffintly fedex malpractice

Malpractice?

I don't see why you need his permission to post photos of a box that was, according to you, grossly damaged during shipping. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see the box that was damaged so badly that animals were torn open inside it.

gabriels_mom08 .... I notice that you just joined this site. Were you here before with a different username? Your user name sounds familiar and I wonder if you've been here before with a similar name?

sorry but this whole thing stinks.

You've been very unreasonable, and from what i've seen have constantly "bent the truth" to make this seller seem bad.

Reading this thread I wouldn't hesitate to buy from edwin, but I would neither buy from or sell to you Gabriels Mom. you make many false assumptions, have clearly ied a few times (or if you're not a lier you have the WORST lawyer imaginable and are one of those lawsuit happy fools who threatens legal action at the drop of a hat.

From what I can see the seller did, almost immediately, try and make it right. Just because he wouldn't bend to your EXTORTION demands you spat your dummy out, became unreasonable and threatened legal action (which clearly was never going to happen!)

Take the refund, go away, and thnk about how muhc better YOU the BUYER could have handled this. Poor guy!

some of them look like they were physically injured... whatever the case is here I make it rule not to buy anything unseen and maybe you should do the same... if someone will invest the money to breed these animals then they should invest the money in a camera to advertise them and it should be no problem to take pics for people to see what exactly they are buying. In fact Scott at Scott Crowe reptiles has started including short videos in all his ads. I think the only people who are gonna know the truth of how this really went down is the customer and the seller.... I will say this though, to the seller...
Be more careful about the way you ship and if you haven't already get yourself certified with fedex to ship live reptiles, I know it's a pain in the neck and takes a few weeks but it's worth it for the future hastles it saves you.
and to the customer....
Buyer beware, if someone doesn't feel that the sale is important enough to get you pictures then they don't deserve to make the sale and it should send a red flag up for you. Secondly I don't buy that fedex told you they issued him 100.00 because I'm pretty sure that would be against certain privacy laws. I'm not doubting that you had problems with the seller but I think you could've handled it better and protected your self against it ever happening in the first place.

Finally, good luck to whichever of you deserves it.

also...

just to throw it out there, the seller makes more sense to me and if I had to say which sounded more credible I would say its Edwin

sorry to clarify:

Are you claiming FEDEX told you that it's illegal to ship anyhting other than "farm or zoo" (or however you put it) animals?

consider your response carefully, fed-ex would certainly say no such thing.

I would make sure your answer is very clear and very truthful, because your story seems to be jumping around a lot, and that never goes down well on here, especially not when it's the folk trying to label someone a "Bad Guy" doing it!

Actually, depending on what FEDEX employee you get, they certainly do say such things. Although they will usually state "live harmless reptiles" are okay. Still, when I first tried to get FEDEX certified, it was a real headache; kept getting transferred to the "live animal desk" (which I will refer to as LAD) and kept having conversations like this:

me: "hello, I'd like to get certified to ship small, non-venomous snakes"
LAD: "sorry, we only ship harmless reptiles, no venomous animals. So no snakes"
me: "but what about HARMLESS snakes"
LAD: "No venomous snakes, so no snakes"

It wouldn't surprise me if they got a FEDEX rep who claimed shipping beardies is against FEDEX TOS (not illegal).
If you're certified you basically sign away all liability on the reptiles though :/ If the shipper isn't certified, I wonder if they actually stand more of a chance of recovering shipping?

yes fedex said that you have to go through a different process to ship live. all i want is my 220 dollars back. he said he will send it back so i am happy. i don't like being scammed.

soooo you just happened to stumble onto this site? lucky guess that edwin was registered here? & you just signed up yesterday?im sure it wasn't to slander this guy.i mean,c'mon, the guy did offer you a full refund more than once & you tried to strong arm him into sending you beardies he either didnt have or wasn't comfortable shipping... not to mention that he states he cannot ship anything out due to the fact he doesn't have heat packs.talk about trying to get blood from a stone. and what about your statements that "you spoke to your lawyer"? how bad of a lawyer is he if he works @ FEDEX during the day? word of advice... the cust. serv. rep. for FEDEX IS NOT A FORM OF LEGAL COUNCIL!!! you really should get back your retainer & use that $ for your meds or a shrink to figure out why you have the opinion that this guy hasn't done the right thing. just my 2 cents... probably not even worth that...
