In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Victor Rivera at Reptiles Plus is Untrustworthy!

If you ship via USPS Express--and the shipment is not guaranteed overnight---THEY MARK IT ON YOUR RECEIPT AND TELL YOU AS YOU ARE STANDING IN FRONT OF THEM--BEFORE THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!

I have shipped HUNDREDS of packages of live coral through USPS Express and have had less than 5 problems with their service. Most times--if you are on the ball and there's a problem--you can have your postmaster call the delivery postmaster and get the package delivered.

But all that means nothing because it's ILLEGAL (ie:against the law) to ship snakes via the USPS. Victor's admissions here and paperwork here ought to be enough catch his Postmaster's attention. And maybe some new fines!!

Off topic: I think you can ship lizards and bugs through USPS.

With this USPS blunder by Reptiles Plus---someone can finally stuff a cork in these bad business practices---just by reporting him to the Postal authorities!!!

Please please please please please please please please turn him in!!! HAHAHAHA!

we did not ship anything to you without a heat pack and proper package! also you did not read the terms on the website please read them again. Also the snakes are W.C but they were inspected by me and they did not have any mites on them. we did ship the package next day but because you live in a rural area they could not guarantee next day delivery! i did not know that until i spoke with them after the package was already delivered! that is why it was delayed. and if you read the terms we are not responsible for any shipping delays!

Hmmm... you're not responsible for the fact that you violated USPS regulations, which have the force of law, as well as the Lacey Act. If you're not responsible for your criminal acts Victor, then who is?

The violation of the Lacey Act would be more serious. The most USPS could push for is a small fine and ~30 confinement if memory serves me correctly.

That's even better!

Does anyone know how to begin the process of reporting someone about violation of the Lacey Act?

I think the USPS still should know about him---at least his local office--so he won't be allowed to kill any more animals through them.

Hi. Thanks for the responses. I did file a report with the US Postal Inspectors on the day that I visited with my Postmaster. I did so at his request. My Postmaster also called the regional postal inspectors about this issue at the time and that was their best response. The US Postal Inspectors dont jump on every single incident. I was told that it takes several reports with them about the same individual before they can act with legal action. All they do at this point is accumulate data against this individual until they feel they have enough to act. If there are a few more people out there that have been ripped off by Victor and they filed reports, it might actually go somewhere. It is also my understanding the the Postal Inspectors will be in contact with Mr. Rivera's Post Office in Lehigh Acres to give them a heads up.

(Emphasis in quotes is mine)

He did report it to the post office. Hopefully something will come of it someday. And maybe someone knows how to enforce the Lacey Act and can tell us.

It never ceases to astonish me how little care someone can have for animals' welfare, as well as stealing hard-earned money from someone who was supposed to be a customer and trusted them enough to send money in the first place. :NoNo: It paints quite a despicable picture of a person's character.

:bang:

D'OH!

Sometimes I get so excited about exposing a scumbag that I throw my reading comprehension skills out the window!! :D

its amazing how people with other business like to attack and jump on the band wagon when they see the opportunity like vultures. umm lets all the people on here talking trash tiki tiki reptiles, beachside reptiles, and especally amazing aquatics i know who you are mark and when ever you want to call me names why dont you pick up the phone and tell me to my face you :censored:coward! lie all the others on here what are you names like to hide behing screen names you guys have a probelm with me come settle it!

Hey Vic- (since we're on a first name basis now...)

This has nothing to do with my hobby! LOL--I have zero snakes for sale.

This is about ripping off friends in the hobby---and I think it's disgusting.

Obviously, you must feed your family with the earnings from your shady dealings otherwise you wouldn't be so angry about a couple people noticing your illegal activity.

I don't know you personally--but anyone willing to break a law, (a Federal one at that), and also kill animals indiscriminantly, can usually be stereotyped as a scumbag.

You're right Vic. I apologize.

I also didn't mean to pull this thread off track and make it about me---although I am quite flattered! :D

So Vic, now that you're back--how are you going to satisfy your customer who started this thread?

I'm going to break this down objectively and without any name-calling.

Shipping an animal out 2 day instead of next day is not a delay in shipping due to the carrier. Let's add to this that the box clearly was not insulated and was shipped illegally. If the buyer was advised the choice of shipping was his (I have not seen this indicated by either party) I would say tough luck. If the seller chose the method of shipping - you can see where I'm going with this.

Victor - if the animals were shipped illegally, with a 2 day label and were not insulated - how is this anyone's fault but yours? Look at this objectively and refund the man his money - all of it.

And before the "everyone has tried using USPS for this" is used I will say this... I have used two methods for reptile delivery - pick it up from me personally or Delta Dash (I haven't been Fed Ex certified yet). If you ship illegally without the knowledge of the buyer it should be all on you.

Do what's right, don't twist it into someone else's fault or responsibility.

People like you shouldn't be in this business. It's obvious by the way you packed and shipped those snakes that you don't care about your customer or your animals. You are a scumbag.

Victor

It's seems funny to me when a person grows a set over the keyboard. The point is that your a scam artist and you were brought out in another thread a few months ago. You still haven't learned anything! Your character is as bad as your business practice. Calling out people like your in 5th grade is just pathetic!

You shipped animals Illegally, thats just a fact! Maybe you did or didn't know it was an Illegal act, non the less your lack of, effects everyone in this industry.

By your character and the way you run your business, I know you won't do the right thing. Someone needs to follow through on this and report you to the right authority for the Illegal shipping and finally get you out of here. You truly hung yourself this time!

Victor, you are following the same path that alot of less than stellar reptile business's take. You ship wild caught garbage, hide behind your pathetic terms of service, point the finger at the shipper, or the buyer, when everyone here but you can see, the only guilty party is you. Guilty of shipping 2nd day air, of shipping USPS, of shipping in a pathetic excuse for a reptile shipping box....

If you are inferring that people on here are just badmouthing you because you are the "competition," you are sadly mistaken, and delusional, because none of us care to compete with you. It is like a Nascar driver racing against a little old lady, and you are the little old lady. I do not sell half dead, WC junk, you are not even close to being in our class.

I guess you guys went and really pissed this fella off....

I hope he still intends on refunding that money to the buyer. Threads with no end go on forever---roaming the Earth---until there's a solution.

He didn't use the "this thread has increased my business $$xx ...."

So he can't quit yet!!

Bring it. People who ship illegally hurt the hobby for everyone. These kinds of scumbags will make all kinds of rationalizations: 'Everybody does it' 'It's too expensive to ship otherwise' 'postal regulations are just rules'

Everyone doesn't do it. Ethical people do not. And if whether or not you obey the law depends on the expense, you deserve the book thrown at you.
Postal regulations have the force of law. I'm not going to argue it, I'm simply going to report illegal mailings so that whoever does them can speak to USPS, because I don't want to hear the drivel of those who ship illegally.

8.5 Harmful Matter—General
Except as provided in this document, any article, composition, or material is nonmailable if it can kill or injure another or injure the mail or other property. Harmful matter includes, but is not limited to:

a. All types and classes of poisons, including controlled substances.

b. All poisonous animals except scorpions mailed for medical research purposes or for the manufacture of antivenom; all poisonous insects; all poisonous reptiles; and all types of snakes, turtles, and spiders.

United States Code, Title 18, Section 1716 cites various penalties that may be applicable when mailing snakes, spiders and the like in certain situations.

You can report dangerous mailings at 1-877-876-2455. To me, I'm through arguing with people who ship illegally, hurting critters, possibly hurting people.
There's a lot of it going on, and rather than face scumbags who give excuses for their illegal dealings, I'll just copy and past and send the info on to those who can enforce it.

And those, like this vendor, who dance around their warranties, making up new restrictions as they go to absolve themselves of the financial liability they should have stepped up like men and taken care of, and then have the nerve to threaten legal action? To them, I say, come on; bring it.
