Info Joe Bryant (Fastz28) use caution!

He is on at least one other forum that he has mentioned. I hope people get the word out there or if anyone knows this guy or lives by Carlinville IL and can see if this snake even exists.
If I don't get my refund I would at the very least try to prevent others from going through this.
Joe, if you chime in later to read this we can work out a payment plan if need be. I'm actually a pretty easy guy to work with.

understood. so, am i still missing something. fedex specifically told me they do no longer ship live reptiles. is that a per state regulation or nationwide.
because if what they told me is true, then it was shipped under the table.

That's because you just can't walk in and ask to ship reptiles. It doesn't work that way. The general public has never been authorized to ship snakes and has always been told that they don't do it when you go up to a counter or call a local office. A lot FedEx employees have zero knowledge about the wavier. There is a process to getting certified and there is a very nice thread in the shipping section here detailing how to accomplish it. As far as I know nothing has changed. My FedEx Reps haven't told me anything to believe that it has.

Personal opinon from me, it doesn't really look like there was a snake in that bag. The twist ties wouldn't have held the bag shut on a 5 ft python anyway, which might be how it pushed the "opening" in the bag, IF there was a snake.

With no insulation I would want out of that darn box too.

PRESERVING PERISHABLE SHIPMENTS
Perishable products may be subjected to extremes of heat and/or cold
on the way to their destination. FedEx does not provide temperature controlled transportation services. With careful packaging, you can protect
your products by providing appropriate temperature protection or stability.

Materials most commonly used for this purpose include insulation and
coolants/refrigerants.
Insulation
Perishable product should be packaged with enough insulation to prevent
or reduce the transfer of heat through the container walls.
The most common insulation materials are:
A Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS)
A Rigid High Density Polyurethane
A Reflecting Surface Material (Radiant Barrier Films)

What environmental conditions will my products be
exposed to during transit?
The variety of products that travel though the FedEx system make it
impossible to provide controlled environments to meet the temperature
requirements of all products.
When preparing your perishable shipments, take into account both the
time of year and the transit location temperatures. Lows can reach -60°F
(-51° C)

Aircraft
Temperatures on board FedEx aircraft vary depending on the type of aircraft,
the location of each cargo compartment with respect to the fuselage,
and a package’s location within each compartment. Flight length and
cruising altitude also affect temperature.
The following temperature ranges for aircraft transportation are provided
for general reference only:
Main Cargo Compartment Temperature Ranges
Temperature ranges aboard most wide-body aircraft main cargo compartments may vary between 65° F (18° C) and 90° F (32° C).
Lower Cargo and Bulk Compartment Temperature Ranges
In any aircraft bulk compartment, packages positioned next to aircraft
outer structure (worst case) may be exposed to temperatures during high
altitudes as low as 0 degrees F (-18° C).

This.

You can't trust anything the random FedEx employees say. I've heard everything from "we don't ship reptiles" to "we don't ship snakes" to "you have to have a permit to ship reptiles" and more. Like most large operations, the employees tend to only have a vague idea of what the actual rules are. Go by the official FedEx rules, not by what any employee says.

Joe left me a message saying he wants to work out a repayment plan. I will keep you all posted. Here is the message he left:

yes there was a snake i will make it right i lost my job and had to sell some snakes to pay my morgage
I bought the snake from eric at sentec i pulled on the ties and couldnt pull it free
must of got out of bag and tore all bubble wrap off it was package taped down. then in shipping they damaged box with that hole in the side and snake got out i thought with bag and with box he would bee allright yes i will need the payment plan. sorry i didnt get back to you . trying to save my house
very disstressed that was one of my faveret snakes.
checked with some people and you checked out.

If I remember correctly, there is a 45 day time frame that you have in order to file a claim with PayPal, so for your sake I wouldn't wait long for a payment plan to complete. Forty-six days after the transaction was made, you won't have any recourse available to you.

So let me get this straight... A 5ft retic only weighed 5 pounds, busted through some cardboard like superman and got out on a 2 day transit across country? Why dont you just admit that you didnt ship the snake to begin with since you do not seem like you are going to do the right thing and refund him for YOUR mistake. Your shipping practices are deplorable at best. Bread bag twist ties on a snake bag? Do you mind explaining your thought process behind this debacle of a transaction?

the box ws lined with bubble wrap in a snake bag three wire ties i couldnt pull the bag apart with my hands i weigh 215 and work out
in the fourth pic you can see the outline of the snake in the bag plenty of waded news paper. and te air holes were made with a small knive tiny slits there no way the snake could of gotten out. was even has 200 insurance
and that hole was not in the box when it left

You weigh 215 pounds and you cant pull 3 bread ties apart?

greg i did send the snake and will take care of you
and for the rest of the assholes on here assumeing shit suk my dick
i dont care if they kick me of this site to many bitches on here any ways
greg text me and will work out payment

Those are some very strong bread ties.

I highly doubt the snake was ever in the box to start with. A 5ft snake weighing 5 lbs at package weight is very suspect.

I am trying to figure out whats worse... The husbandry if he in fact did ship out a 5ft 5 pound retic, the shipping procedures being that he shipped illegally through Fedex and even insured his illegal package, or the lie that he sent out a snake at all. This whole ordeal seems too bad to be true.

i will make right
if it was not for fed ex damaging box snake would of made it to greg

I was just going to state that many here reading are glad to see you are going to handle this. I was also going to state that keep in mind that the insulation not only protects the snake from temperature extremes but also adds stability to the box to withstand pressure. That is why in order to receive your wavier you have to send a package in for testing. The stress and pressure tests are preformed for this very reason. A used box with no support and holes poked in it degrades its integrity. When they are stacked and thrown around they don't hold up.
Basically, you damaged the box before FedEx even got their hands on it.

But instead of the readers seeing that you are going to handle this professionally and take care of your buyer, you immediately result to a temper tantrum and spew profanities. I don't think that is going to win over many potential future transactions and it has earned you three days away from here. You can't seem to go a few posts without resulting to profanities and telling someone to suck you. This fixation may be a problem you might want to talk to somebody about but you're not going to do it here. When you get back keep the overly abusive remarks and profanity out of your posts or you will be gone for good.

Thanks.

Greg , I hope he makes good on the transaction.

Translation- I got your money, jammed a snake haphazardly into a makeshift box, shipped it illegally (and slowly) and spent your money before you even had a chance to receive the box.

It's just that simple.

He's not refunding the money because he doesn't have it, it's gone. Why does everyone who gets caught doing this same thing ALWAYS have a sob story? Even if it is true, sorry to hear that and I hope your luck changes, but that has nothing to do with the buyer, he has (had) money and you took it, and he got nothing to show for it, regardless of what may have really happened. Fedex is NOT going to settle on an insurance claim, unless you lie about what was in the box....AGAIN.

Man up.

Why should he work out a "payment plan" to get HIS money back? Did he give it to you in payments? No. He gave you ONE payment, for a snake.

He did not get a snake.

WHATEVER the reason may be, it is due to NO fault of his own, therefore you should give him ONE payment back for the entire amount. Immediately.

On the outside chance that you somehow get any money back from Fedex, then you can keep that, that's between you and Fedex.

There is no other way to handle this.

Man up.

Well said. This whole thing stinks.

And like Hybridbird said he paid in one lump, you should refund the same way.

When I sell snakes the money stays "held" for at least one week on my part so in the event of some shipping issue or other unknown I can refund the buyer if needed. So far I have NEVER had to, but I like to prepare for the unknown and be careful. That way I can help the customer and provide the best follow up service.

I dont mind the "payment" part ONLY because 1) the buyer is ok with it and 2) if it gets the money back to the right hands, its getting the money back to the right hands.
