In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Just got this from SYR

I have windows open on SYR threads on a half dozen forums right now, even more yesterday. I am not lurking and obsessing, they are just open, and I am logged in. Computer is always on, I check them every few hours. The Inquiry Board is not the world's most important gathering place, nor the source for SYR news. Have some perspective. Plus folks are much more reasonable and rationale over here, so there is that

Robyn doesn't have respect enough for this forum to respond to questions posted here, however is more then willing to take jabs at Fauna on another forum.

I don't blame him for not wanting to respond here, half of the people "discussing" this topic have either hinted at or outright called him a liar. It isn't his job to come answer questions posed by those who will refuse anything said without a scan of the contract, guess what people, it isn't uncommon for contracts to have a stipulation that can void said contract if shown publically.

I don't know about others, but I don't have much respect for him either. People who have used his service have a right to know. I went and read all of what he said. He says his company is still allowed to ship snakes through UPS but everyone else has to stop. I suspect it has been that way all along, and someone in the upper management of UPS is tired of sticking up for him. So when he was told enough is enough, he said don't do it any more, because he can't fix it any more.

He doesn't have enough respect for this forum because he can't take being questioned. This site has 500 times the traffic then those other sites, so it only makes since that there is more forum participation then those other sites. Just look at how many members this site has compared to the others. Gee, what do I want to face, a web site with 250 members, or a web site with 65000 members. With more volume comes more questioning, comments, concerns, critisism, and so on. If you can't take the heat, don't play with fire. When you are messing with people's lives, that is what you are doing.

Personally,

I didnt feel like he was a taking a shot at Fauna rather the members who frequent this site, like me... LoL Although, I do not feel like he was aiming his "jab" at me directly, I still felt it. I did not take it personally.

This is the only forum that I frequent. Mainly because, like Brian said, it has more traffic and more places for me to post.

As for Robyn choosing NOT to post here, I also can understand that as well. I have read a lot of the threads regarding SYR practices, even before they truly launched their service. I can see why SYR feels like everytime they post here, they are attacked yet, I see why so many people are concerned.

When I think of how people want a copy of the waiver, it really has nothing to do with us as individuals so why show it? Just because people ask for it? Hell, most of us wont even give people our addresses or phone numbers. If that waiver stated that Dean Stemple of StrictlyExotics.net was allowed to ship snakes, sure I would want to see a copy of it, however it does NOT say this. "If" there is/was a waiver, it only stated that SYR had/has permission to do so.

Will it affect my bottom line? Sure, but thats only temporary. I am a supporter of the product that they produced as long as it was on the up and up. If they offer it again, I will utilize their discount that they give me for doing so. I really hope that Robyn and SYR can sort through this mess and I can see that there is a mountain of it in front of them.

Good Luck SYR

Where to start with this mish-mash of rambling...

To the bolded: It matters because if they are inferring that they have a waiver to SHIP OTHER PEOPLE'S snakes then those using the service have a RIGHT to know that this is true or if by utilizing SYR services, they are just causing the reptile community more problems by ignoring /
disobeying / disregarding the policy of a major shipping business AND putting animals at risk.

Reading the posts of some...I started thinking.."No wonder the reptile community has (imo) the highest rate of successful scams"

While I agree with you Deb on the "endangering my animals" because I did use their service more than once. But if their contract didnt state that I personally could ship through them, it had nothing to do with me regarding UPS. Also, I would tend to think that if they did NOT have a waiver, SYR would no longer exist and neither would the waiver that they have for PE. I havent seen proof one way or another so I am not ready to hang them just yet.

I can only speak of my experiences of utilizing their service. I CLEARLY marked my boxes, per the Lacey Act. I will admit that the last box I sent out was actually mismarked as it said ball python (python regius) rather than BCI. My "lost" boa was marked as well as with all my shipments through them. Like I stated before, I only had ONE refused shipment being that the first time I used once of the franchise hubs. They didnt even refuse it, they made some phone calls and decided that it was ok, but at that point, I said nevermind. From then on, I continued to go to the franchise store and had no issues, even when the box hissed at the owner.

The bolded is not logical. We have already witnessed/experienced with Ripster just how easy it is for a good con man to bamboozle the reptile community into thinking what they want without showing any evidence or facts. If they do not have a waiver giving them permission to ship for the community..it does not compute that SYR would not exist.

You may be the kind/type that doesn't need to see evidence that you aren't acting unethically, but some of us are not so easily led. The rationalizations of some that have been posted for continuing to believe in a tale with no substance is just sad.

Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me!:ack2:

So, in your statement, should I be asking for FedEx waivers from everyone selling me snakes so I wouldnt be receiving snakes unethically?

Focus ...when someone sends you something they are sending it on their waiver and paying for it....if they tell you that you can use their waiver to ship FORBIDDEN items..that is a completely different rationale.

People with FedEx waivers probably would have no problem showing you theirs. Some of us may even go so far as to post our waivers on our own websites.

Although Reptster and SYR's do have similarities, they also have differences. I can tell you all this, SYR's had made a ton of money from all those who used their service. They still have not posted on their site that you cannot ship snakes, WHY? You can bet there will be people who still ship snakes through their service. When people have their animals confiscated, there will be a lot of negative feedback. I think they have, and are continuing to mislead people, all for their gain.

At this point, I can't understand why anyone would defend SYR, it truely is very sad.

The fix people are waiting on isn't going to happen. That is in a way a shame, because there are those who will be waiting. Ever hear the phrase "snow balls chance in hell"?

I know that on my website, I STATE without doubt that I am certified, I am also ready to produce the waiver if anyone wanted proof.:shrug01:

The problem is MANY people claim that they have a waiver. I dont doubt that you personally have one but I do doubt the many people who say that they do, dont.

All I am stating is that I DO believe that SYR had a waiver, although, I do not belive that they have one now. As much as everyone is out to prove that they dont (or didnt), these are also the people who never considered shipping through them as well. I also wouldnt think that PE would want to risk their business on a hoax as well, which if they didnt have a waiver (that is exactly what this was).

To me, it would kill any good feeling I would have with PE, APS, and SYR. Also, just to let you know, you personally know that I have received snakes via FedEx as well. I did have a problem with one shipment that I received, as a receiver, from FedEx. The FedEx office that I picked up my snake from said that I should not be able to to receive it because they, FedEx, did not ship snakes. I wont mention who sent me the package because I did receive it fine and I am 99.9% positive that this person has a waiver. But, the point is, I did receive a little hassle from FedEx as well.

Sigh..well..you could ask for proof. I am sure any HONEST shipper wouldn't mind showing you the waiver. There is no need to "take someone's word" in the BUSINESS world.

But the actual point is: If the person was inferring that I, MYSELF, could use his waiver to ship FORBIDDEN animals then I definitely would want to see some kind of evidence because at that point..it is ME that is disregarding regulations/policies based on someone's WORD.

Good guys go bad everyday.... Money has that effect on some people.:reddevil:

Well, this is my opinion. If an individual shipper doesn't have a waiver from Fedex it isn't a big deal. If said person is guaranteeing live arival, that to me is more important. If said shipper does not have a waiver, and the package gets seized, that is on the shipper, as a buyer, I get my money back.

When you use as middle man like SYR's and there is no waiver, you are risking your animals through no fault of your own, and on a lie from someone else. Their main concern is about making money. What happens if your animal gets seized through someone elses account? What are you going to do? You have to pay back that customer. Now, they still don't have it posted on their site, not to ship snakes. So as of now, you will be SOL if you get caught shipping a snake through them.

I posted on this topic when it started, it affects me directly. That being said, I cannot wait for this thread to come to an end. Everyone has their own issues with this and there are valid points from both sides of the fence. I won't sit here and attempt to guess what ones motives are or were, it won't change anything. I think the best thing that can happen right now is for everyone to do what is best for them and the reptile community as a whole and step away from all the post / counter post negativity. If this thread never existed we would have the same issue to deal with on a personal level. I think time would be better focused on that.

Yep...and this kind of thinking would be a good way to get UPS on the bandwagon to ban snakes too, because they got fed up with so many of us ignoring their policy?:ack2:

I'm not hinting to anyone to go ahead and ignore policy. I'm only clearing up the misnomer that shipping snakes via UPS is illegal.

UPS knows people ship snakes. I believe they didn't care as long as there were no complaints about it and it was kept hush hush.

they still don't have it posted on their site, not to ship snakes.

They did not post it specifically but they have changed the text on the site now.

What can I ship through ShipYourReptiles.com?
You cannot ship illegal drugs, batteries, liquor, aerosols, firearms and ammunition, fireworks, explosives, mammals (no dogs, no cats), birds, dry ice and absolutely no venomous reptiles.

ShipYourReptiles.com is approved for the shipping of live non venomous reptiles.

You must follow the ShipYourReptiles.com Shipping Standards.

You must also follow all UPS rules and restrictions. For more details, see these sections of the UPS site:

It says nothing about snakes now. It says you can ship live non-venomous reptiles according to UPS rules and restrictions.
