    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I didnt feel like he was a taking a shot at Fauna rather the members who frequent this site, like me... LoL Although, I do not feel like he was aiming his "jab" at me directly, I still felt it. I did not take it personally.

This is the only forum that I frequent. Mainly because, like Brian said, it has more traffic and more places for me to post.

As for Robyn choosing NOT to post here, I also can understand that as well. I have read a lot of the threads regarding SYR practices, even before they truly launched their service. I can see why SYR feels like everytime they post here, they are attacked yet, I see why so many people are concerned.

When I think of how people want a copy of the waiver, it really has nothing to do with us as individuals so why show it? Just because people ask for it? Hell, most of us wont even give people our addresses or phone numbers. If that waiver stated that Dean Stemple of StrictlyExotics.net was allowed to ship snakes, sure I would want to see a copy of it, however it does NOT say this. "If" there is/was a waiver, it only stated that SYR had/has permission to do so.

Will it affect my bottom line? Sure, but thats only temporary. I am a supporter of the product that they produced as long as it was on the up and up. If they offer it again, I will utilize their discount that they give me for doing so. I really hope that Robyn and SYR can sort through this mess and I can see that there is a mountain of it in front of them.

He thinks Im a hater.. .but Im not... I want answers... and I call things the way I see them. Period... end of story. I have the guts to ask the big dog questions others wont.

If that makes me a hater... so be it. I truely hope him and SYR can succeed in opening up UPS for the rest of us. But some of his tactics opens up questions.

As I told him on the other site... he doesnt have to answer to me... Im not a customer... but there are alot of members here that ARE/WAS his customers... and some are asking the same questions I am.
 
Well, this is my opinion. If an individual shipper doesn't have a waiver from Fedex it isn't a big deal. If said person is guaranteeing live arival, that to me is more important. If said shipper does not have a waiver, and the package gets seized, that is on the shipper, as a buyer, I get my money back.

When you use as middle man like SYR's and there is no waiver, you are risking your animals through no fault of your own, and on a lie from someone else. Their main concern is about making money. What happens if your animal gets seized through someone elses account? What are you going to do? You have to pay back that customer. Now, they still don't have it posted on their site, not to ship snakes. So as of now, you will be SOL if you get caught shipping a snake through them.

See, for me Brian, I DO have an issue with this and I would if I was receiving or shipping through SYR without a waiver. For me personally, I did use their service and I do want to know that I was shipping ethically because I dont want to feel that I was placing my animals in jeopardy. The difference is, I do have faith that they had a waiver on site because of my experiences using their service.

Maybe I was part of the problem because I DID label my packages correctly, in fact, even lost one in transit. I was worried that the one package that could have been questionable, length-wise, was the only one that I had a problem with. It was defnitely pushing what was stated as their size limit that we were capable of shipping through them.
 
All I am stating is that I DO believe that SYR had a waiver, although, I do not belive that they have one now. As much as everyone is out to prove that they dont (or didnt), these are also the people who never considered shipping through them as well. I also wouldnt think that PE would want to risk their business on a hoax as well, which if they didnt have a waiver (that is exactly what this was).

Im not out to prove they dont... its just that I see enough holes in their story that it could be swiss cheese.... and I question those holes. Because of this I get labeld a troublemaker... Oh well... I can live with that. I've been called worse.

Kevin, I know what you are stating. I have questions that I want answered but I am taking my approach with them a little differently. I used their service so I feel like I have a right to answers. I am sure that I will get answers as soon as they have some for me.

I am not defending them but I am not condemning them at the same time. If/when it comes to fruition that they did (or did not) have a waiver, I will pass judgement at that time. I just personally feel that they DID have a waiver for us to use their services and now their waiver has been revoked.

It says nothing about snakes now. It says you can ship live non-venomous reptiles according to UPS rules and restrictions.

how many folks are actually going to go and try and find what UPS allows on their site? Why not just post it if you want to comply with UPS's wishes?

Just say no snakes at this time till we get this worked out.

It really is that simple.

My statement was that I think it is o.k. for a small guy to ship through his own account without a waiver. Not the use of an account like SYR. If someone ships through their own account and they don't have the waiver, then they know, and accept the risks involved, so if they guarantee live arrival, the buyer can't lose. But shipping through someone elses account that doesn't have a waiver, that is wrong, especially if you are being led to believe they have a waiver.

Honestly, I feel that the REAL troublemakers were the ones who knowingly used their services unethically, like the person who shipped the False Water Cobra and people who didnt follow practical shipping procedures.

Where I feel SYR is at fault... They didnt "verify" shippers using their services by seeing how they would send out packages. If they didnt have a waiver for us to ship snakes, that alltogether is another issue but I wont address that issue until that comes to fruition.

I just think that we are all quick to jump the gun and ready to lynch them when we dont have the proof to do so.
 
Actually we all have the right to an answer. In business... the next person you meet could be your best customer. If you have nothing to hide... then why not answer the questions asked.

I dont personally have anything against Robyn, PE, SYR's or UPS. I use FedEx because they have the climate controlled vans for express shipments. Its better for my animal... which in turn is better for your animal when you purchase from me.

Now I know some will say it doesnt matter if you pack the animals correctly. I will put my packing up against ANYBODY. I know my packing is superior because I go the extra mile and extra cost for better insulation in every box. Doesnt matter what the season.

He wasnt saying anything negative to anyone but SouthernWolf. As for them answering our questions in a public forum, I would "imagine" for legality reasons he wont state one way or another. I am just one who believes that they did in fact have one is all.

Now, if I were SouthernWolf, I would have been rubbed by what Robyn said. I will admit that he could have made his point without being so rash about it towards SouthernWolf "Kevin". But, as Kevin has stated many times throughout many forums, he was NOT a SYR customer thus Robyn NOT feeling like he is owing him an answer. I can relate to those feelings as I would probably feel the same way.

Look at the folks that have posted in this thread alone... now they have to scramble to get FedEx certified because they cant/shouldnt ship snakes with SYR. They are in the same boat I was in a couple years ago. I have had around 4 or 5 contact me via PM on a couple different forums wanting info on how to get certified... and I have tried to help each and everyone of them.

So if my questions rub him the wrong way..... hate if for ya. I have already been thru this once... and I see similarities (sp?). Therefore I ask the questions... and I would be willing to bet... its the same questions others would like answers to as well.

I understand the whole "RIPster" deal. I was looking forward to RIPster getting off the ground back then. But I wouldnt consider RIPster the same thing until it is proven that they did not have some sort of waiver. I am sure that even if they "DID" have a waiver, it was most likely shaky at best. All the mishaps that occured most likely what got the said waiver revoked.

I guess for me, I just understand why and how that could happen, especially with all that is going on within our hobby. Someone ships a "Cobra" to an elementary school, regardless of what kind it is, still has a cobra in the name. Then someone calling, asking where their cobra is. I could see that causing problem with any shipping company, waiver or not.

Well, it certainly rubbed me the wrong way to see Robyn's apparent opinion of this site expressed like he did.

Since I'm sure Robyn is reading this thread, I think I should make a policy statement about helping him in the future such as I did when he called me about this "waiver" that people are concerned about again. In short, Robyn, don't come to me for help again. For anything. Apparently it is beneath you to come here to answer people's questions about this issue, so this is your own bed to lie in. Quite frankly, I now feel USED when you came to me to help you get your SYR business off the ground and this very same question about the legitimacy of your "waiver" was brought up here. In my opinion, you could have read me ANYTHING written by ANYONE over the phone, as I have no tangible proof whatsoever concerning WHO wrote that text you read to me then. I do regret that I took you and your claims at face value earlier.

Personally, I believe the people here either currently or potentially using the services you offer have a legitimate reason to want to know the TRUTH. If I were in the shoes of those people relying on your services for their own business needs, I certainly would not be happy with the apparent question dodging now taking place from you. Quite frankly, if UPS can pull the rug out from under you (and therefor your customers) without warning, as they have now apparently done, then unless you have an iron-clad CONTRACT from them that they cannot revoke at whim without notice, then you are doing your customers a disservice by putting their animals and business transactions in jeopardy by being transported by UPS through your company without any guarantee of VERIFIABLY authorized passage.

IMHO, it does not matter at all if we are cool and polite, talking nonsense and circles, we deserve to know if we were infact breaking UPS policy when we thought we weren't.

Somebody please pm me the address of the forum that is all peace and harmony.
 
Actually Dean... you are wrong with your assessment.

IF SYR's was able to get this opened up for everyone... and I was then able to get my certs... then I wouldnt have any problem using SYR's... because if something went wrong... I have my own account and rep to help get things done.

The comment on the RR show about hiding in the dark because three people on Fauna don't like him showed a complete lack of concern for any customers they had/have here. To heck with the three, what about the hundreds/thousands who are just waiting for some answer and the potential future customers that see all this and a lack of response and decide against the service. Maybe I heard it wrong, but it certainly sounds like he's thumbing his nose at the many people here who used to use his product. NOT a good way to foster good will.

The more I hear, the more I come to the firm conclusion that I will stick with FedEx and only use another service if the customer prefers it. And if of course it ever becomes a legitimate portal again. According to Robyn, this isn't going to be something that's going to be fixed in the short term, if at all.
