About Us
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) was established as a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to serve as a means to receive Internet related criminal complaints and to further research, develop, and refer the criminal complaints to federal, state, local, or international law enforcement and/or regulatory agencies for any investigation they deem to be appropriate. The IC3 was intended, and continues to emphasize, serving the broader law enforcement community to include federal, as well as state, local, and international agencies, which are combating Internet crime and, in many cases, participating in Cyber Crime Task Forces.
Since its inception, the IC3 has received complaints crossing the spectrum of cyber crime matters, to include online fraud in its many forms including Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) matters, Computer Intrusions (hacking), Economic Espionage (Theft of Trade Secrets), Online Extortion, International Money Laundering, Identity Theft, and a growing list of Internet facilitated crimes. Since June 2000, it has become increasingly evident that, regardless of the label placed on a cyber crime matter, the potential for it to overlap with another referred matter is substantial. Therefore, the IC3, formerly known as the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (Internet Fraud Complaint Center), was renamed in October 2003 to better reflect the broad character of such matters having an Internet, or cyber, nexus referred to the IC3, and to minimize the need for one to distinguish "Internet Fraud" from other potentially overlapping cyber crimes.
IC3 Mission Statement
IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local, and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.
Significant and supplemental to partnering with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, it will remain a priority objective of the IC3 to establish effective alliances with industry. Such alliances will enable the IC3 to leverage both intelligence and subject matter expert resources, pivotal in identifying and in crafting an aggressive, proactive approach to combating cyber crime.
I hope you guys make 10,000 gecko babies and 400 ball python hatchlings.
I want you to eat the grass that your company mows, Jeff.
Christina...ti pizda yobnataya i shtobi pashlak chortu pa bistreya suka vanuchaya. Ya tebya traxal v ushe, ti paskuda blyat.
I hate when that little gut instinct is right - sadly, I didn't have that warning feeling in this instanceI hate to say this but I suspected this awhile back. I wont say why I did, but, I did take a leave from Fauna do to this akward feeling. Really breaks my heart to see that they did this to people who were in need.
Rick - I feel so dirty having your two snakes right now. Even though I'm out the $1500, I feel like I stole from you... and that she stole from me. This isn't right. When you get the chance, please PM me?Yeah, I'm a little pissed too. I mean, I gave up a couple snakes I really didn't want to part with. I see this as pissing right in Chuck and Maggie's faces.
As far as I'm concerned, they stole $1500 from me, as well as the disgraceful actions to begin with.
How are you holding up after the tornado, btw?Not that I needed anything from anyone for the tornado damage that I went through but, this is why I made the statement that I did about auctions, donations, etc... I did NOT want this.
I attempted to put in my dispute, but it wouldn't accept the dispute, as I had sent the money as personal, money owed so Maggie would get the full amount I was sending ($1575)Hey, I am wondering if people can put in PayPal claims and disputes against them for the money. I know its been awhile and they received a lot of it in the form of gifts, but surely there has to be something we can do.
Please let me, and all of us know what you find out about legal recourse? I'm in if you find anything, just let me know what you need, as I both donated snakes, as well as purchased snakes. The actual amount of money sent to the Wises' to be given to Maggie was the $1575, and I donated a $400 Summit Line Pastel Jungle female boa, ph albino for auction as wellI am searching online to see if their is any legal recourse that Maggie, Rick, the people who donated money and the people who donated snakes can take.
I guess Jeff's new pizza shop and Christina's new snakes are more important than being upstanding individuals who actually care and represent something.
I donated:One other question I have is this, and it's a biggie.
In some of the conversations with Maggie, Christina's excuse is that some people backed out of their winning auctions. I'd really like to know WHO, and what happened to the animal or item that was put up, if no one paid. Was the second highest bidder contacted? Was it relisted? Was anyone even NOTIFIED that the auction winner backed out? Crummy excuses is what it sounds like to me.
I really want to make a post, and probably will after this job I'm on is over. But I'd like to see everyone post in it that donated an animal or item, or cash, or won an auction... and total up exactly how much was sent.
I honestly think the donors are the one's that will have to press for legal action. The charitable donations were not sent to where they were intended, and instead used for personal gain. Sounds like fraud or outright theft to me. Considering this hurt Maggie, who is already suffering greatly, I hope they get the BOOK thrown at them.
Had I only known, I would have insisted ons ending the money to Maggie directlyEven if they sent the money out today, it would NOT clear their name with me. This is NOT how you treat people. They had better triple the donations that they collected and donate that before I would consider them to be anything other than what they have proven to be, even before this. I bid on almost EVERY auction just so I could make sure I would have some sort of record to how much was in fact donated.
Count me in as wellHow about a nice friendly class action law suit?![]()
I will help out as much as I can with fees and all that jazz, count me in on that tooYou think there gonna make anything right??? i dont even see them showing there face here. The only way to get money outta them is a law suit. But how are you going to pull that off. Not saying it cant be done, but whos gonna go threw all the legal procedures and lawyer fees?
that was just evilI can't seem to make a copy of it to post here but attached here is what Maggie was just talking about.
no one had fees taken out, so that was such a blatant LIE!!!I just have to comment on something I noticed in the email .pdf DAND posted. Sorry I don't know how to copy it here, but Christina says " . . .everyone who sent money had fees taken out for paypal . . ." I specifically asked her how she wanted the money sent so they wouldn't be hit with fees. I still have the pm's. I can't be the only one they gave those instructions to.
So does paypal take out fees regardless of how the money is sent?
Paypal won't help - do you know if my debit card can be reversed?Mine was sent as money owed and the product was listed on my invoice that I MADE her send me. I am in the process of disputing my payments through PayPal as we speak. Tomorrow, I will be calling my credit card company as well.
this sucks....PayPal failed by I dont think my credit card company will.
Regarding the fees...
I don't know if it's true, but I've recently seen other comments that appear to indicate that the "gift" or "money owed" options are now being charged fees. (If anybody has firsthand knowledge of this, please let me know.)
