In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jeff and Christina Wise (Wise Reptiles) Stole Money from Benefit Auctions for Maggie

Ok.... So after all the digging I have done... one of Christines hobbies is photography so I got to thinking about the fake check.

I started PhotoShop CS3 and typed in Maggies Name.... I then went thru every font that came standard with CS3 (TWICE) and couldnt find a match to the "g" as it is on the check. I dont know what she used... but it was not the standard version of CS3

Hi, i just wanted to say that i am sorry to the family this has hurt. what they did is completely well i cant even think of the word to express how this makes me feel. i can say from being a former criminal justice student that this would be "embezzlement of charitable funds" and "internet fraud" this not only is a felony but is a federal crime. the persons that should be contacted is the FBI. make sure you have everything ready when they are contacted because they will usually begain the investigation with in 24hrs - 48hrs and start gathering all info then. if i can help with anything please let me know. you can reach me at [email protected] or [email protected]. i hope this help. sorry for everything that happened to you Maggie. i hope they get whats coming to them. thanks you

Like I said, IC3.

About Us
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) was established as a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to serve as a means to receive Internet related criminal complaints and to further research, develop, and refer the criminal complaints to federal, state, local, or international law enforcement and/or regulatory agencies for any investigation they deem to be appropriate. The IC3 was intended, and continues to emphasize, serving the broader law enforcement community to include federal, as well as state, local, and international agencies, which are combating Internet crime and, in many cases, participating in Cyber Crime Task Forces.

Since its inception, the IC3 has received complaints crossing the spectrum of cyber crime matters, to include online fraud in its many forms including Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) matters, Computer Intrusions (hacking), Economic Espionage (Theft of Trade Secrets), Online Extortion, International Money Laundering, Identity Theft, and a growing list of Internet facilitated crimes. Since June 2000, it has become increasingly evident that, regardless of the label placed on a cyber crime matter, the potential for it to overlap with another referred matter is substantial. Therefore, the IC3, formerly known as the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (Internet Fraud Complaint Center), was renamed in October 2003 to better reflect the broad character of such matters having an Internet, or cyber, nexus referred to the IC3, and to minimize the need for one to distinguish "Internet Fraud" from other potentially overlapping cyber crimes.

IC3 Mission Statement
IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local, and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.

Significant and supplemental to partnering with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, it will remain a priority objective of the IC3 to establish effective alliances with industry. Such alliances will enable the IC3 to leverage both intelligence and subject matter expert resources, pivotal in identifying and in crafting an aggressive, proactive approach to combating cyber crime.

Ok... I was able to get the program they used from thier check file.

They used Paint.net v. 3.5.4

I was able to download Paint.net (its free) v. 3.5.5 here http://www.getpaint.net/ and for basic editing... it looks like it will be a nice program.

I attempted to match the font used to the 3.5.5 version... but I had no luck. HOWEVER I have found in the past that other programs install font files on your computer... so they may have a font file installed that I do not. Therefore it is available to all the software on their machine.

I can saywithout a shadow of a doubt.. they used the Paint.net program on that check facing though.

I'm literally feeling sick to my stomach, at this point. I figured with how open and in the public this whole thing was, that it was safe to trust these "friends" of Chuck and Maggie's to do the right thing. I both donated and bought auction snakes with quite a bit of money, that now I wish I had to send directly to Maggie to send her kids to camp. Basically, if anyone is interested in some BP morphs, let me know

I hate to say this but I suspected this awhile back. I wont say why I did, but, I did take a leave from Fauna do to this akward feeling. Really breaks my heart to see that they did this to people who were in need.
I hate when that little gut instinct is right - sadly, I didn't have that warning feeling in this instance
Yeah, I'm a little pissed too. I mean, I gave up a couple snakes I really didn't want to part with. I see this as pissing right in Chuck and Maggie's faces.

As far as I'm concerned, they stole $1500 from me, as well as the disgraceful actions to begin with.
Rick - I feel so dirty having your two snakes right now. Even though I'm out the $1500, I feel like I stole from you... and that she stole from me. This isn't right. When you get the chance, please PM me?
Not that I needed anything from anyone for the tornado damage that I went through but, this is why I made the statement that I did about auctions, donations, etc... I did NOT want this.
How are you holding up after the tornado, btw?
Hey, I am wondering if people can put in PayPal claims and disputes against them for the money. I know its been awhile and they received a lot of it in the form of gifts, but surely there has to be something we can do.
I attempted to put in my dispute, but it wouldn't accept the dispute, as I had sent the money as personal, money owed so Maggie would get the full amount I was sending ($1575)
I am searching online to see if their is any legal recourse that Maggie, Rick, the people who donated money and the people who donated snakes can take.

I guess Jeff's new pizza shop and Christina's new snakes are more important than being upstanding individuals who actually care and represent something.
Please let me, and all of us know what you find out about legal recourse? I'm in if you find anything, just let me know what you need, as I both donated snakes, as well as purchased snakes. The actual amount of money sent to the Wises' to be given to Maggie was the $1575, and I donated a $400 Summit Line Pastel Jungle female boa, ph albino for auction as well
One other question I have is this, and it's a biggie.

In some of the conversations with Maggie, Christina's excuse is that some people backed out of their winning auctions. I'd really like to know WHO, and what happened to the animal or item that was put up, if no one paid. Was the second highest bidder contacted? Was it relisted? Was anyone even NOTIFIED that the auction winner backed out? Crummy excuses is what it sounds like to me.

I really want to make a post, and probably will after this job I'm on is over. But I'd like to see everyone post in it that donated an animal or item, or cash, or won an auction... and total up exactly how much was sent.

I honestly think the donors are the one's that will have to press for legal action. The charitable donations were not sent to where they were intended, and instead used for personal gain. Sounds like fraud or outright theft to me. Considering this hurt Maggie, who is already suffering greatly, I hope they get the BOOK thrown at them.
I donated:
- Coastal Carpet Python - didn't feel reserve was met, was high bidder at $75 on my own snake
- '08 female summit line pastel jungle boa, ph albino sold to Matt Jackson

I puchased:
- $500 DH Sunglow boa
- $1000 Sunglow boa
Even if they sent the money out today, it would NOT clear their name with me. This is NOT how you treat people. They had better triple the donations that they collected and donate that before I would consider them to be anything other than what they have proven to be, even before this. I bid on almost EVERY auction just so I could make sure I would have some sort of record to how much was in fact donated.
Had I only known, I would have insisted ons ending the money to Maggie directly :(
How about a nice friendly class action law suit? :dgrin:
Count me in as well
You think there gonna make anything right??? i dont even see them showing there face here. The only way to get money outta them is a law suit. But how are you going to pull that off. Not saying it cant be done, but whos gonna go threw all the legal procedures and lawyer fees?
I will help out as much as I can with fees and all that jazz, count me in on that too
I can't seem to make a copy of it to post here but attached here is what Maggie was just talking about.
that was just evil
I just have to comment on something I noticed in the email .pdf DAND posted. Sorry I don't know how to copy it here, but Christina says " . . .everyone who sent money had fees taken out for paypal . . ." I specifically asked her how she wanted the money sent so they wouldn't be hit with fees. I still have the pm's. I can't be the only one they gave those instructions to.
So does paypal take out fees regardless of how the money is sent?
no one had fees taken out, so that was such a blatant LIE!!!
Mine was sent as money owed and the product was listed on my invoice that I MADE her send me;). I am in the process of disputing my payments through PayPal as we speak. Tomorrow, I will be calling my credit card company as well.
Paypal won't help - do you know if my debit card can be reversed?
PayPal failed by I dont think my credit card company will.
this sucks....

Regarding the fees...
I don't know if it's true, but I've recently seen other comments that appear to indicate that the "gift" or "money owed" options are now being charged fees. (If anybody has firsthand knowledge of this, please let me know.)

I haven't seen that the receiver gets charged a fee, but if the sender uses a credit card to send the money as personal, they have the option to pay the fee that is charged if you use other than a paypal balance or bank account direct.

The sender pays the fees. I sent $200 and paid six bucks in change for the fees.

And thanks to everyone who continued to dig while my internet crapped out until just now.
