I see a couple of issues here and they are all separate:
1) Making sure the Wise's pay for their sins. There are many on this, and I will help also where needed. No one of you is too small to help. Anyone taking part in the transactions can file complaints with various agencies. Others can notify the press.
2) Gettie some funds to Maggie. No matter how outraged we are, the wheels of justice grind slowly and Maggie will not see that money for a while.
No auctions this time, but how about everyone look around for a small something to donate, with the buyer sending funds direct to Maggie.
Even if it is just a little something, I think everyone would feel good if Maggie had the funds that were going to come to to her before al this happened, while we wait for justice.
( I put up a cute sugar glider yesterday (buy him!!)
3) Feelings. There are a lot of raw, hurt, feelings over this. The whole community was betrayed. Critters which were near and dear were put up for auction because each of those who donated wanted to help.
Let me suggest this: help is not always in terms of dollars and cents. Those who donated were showing their love, for Chuck, for Maggie and the kids, for Fauna.
I suggest that all who won animals in the auction as of now, do away with any feelings of guilt because the monies did not go through. Each of y'all sent money and got a donated critter, and the very process made us a better community.
Accept the critter with the same love it was donated with.
Rightfully, people are focussing on the hurt and outrage of anyone who could do something this evil. But for a moment, focus also on the good: the auction was an outpouring of love for Maggie. This site is overwhelmingly good, and many here went above and beyond. Fauna rocks.
Finally, the warm fuzzies we have for each other, never let them dull the passion for justice and rightful retribution. A wrong has been done, do not rest until it is righted......
