Yeah, I've heard that whole "You're new so I don't trust you" thing. Don't worry I've seen scammers and other people I don't trust that have been here LONG before Dean.

I personally have never heard anything negative about Dean from anybody that I DO trust. So no matter how new somebody is it's their integrity, and character that gain my trust. Some times I'd just as well wipe my @## with some of your "Good Guy" certificates. Some of you obviously feel it's a license to call good honest people a scammer.

Let me put it this way: would this thread be as large, widespread, and active if we knew with absolute certainty that they had stolen 10 cents?

Again, before people go ballistic, I'm not saying this is right in any way, shape, or form! Stealing one cent is still stealing. Heck, I kept track of a pencil that wasn't mine for about six months so when I got back to the place I borrowed it from, I could put it back. A PENCIL.

I'm a realist, though. If they'd stolen, say $100, I'd probably just donate another $100 to Maggie and write it off because there's no way law enforcement would do anything about it no matter how many people got involved. Quite frankly, I don't think the Wises will be punished at all for this; it's just not big enough for most law enforcement to spend money and effort on. Hey, I don't like it either--I think it's complete and utter crap that there has to be some monetary limit met until people start to care--but, sadly, that's the way it goes.

Dean said it wasn't FRAUD to take "a couple points". That's a error right there. It's FRAUD to take ANYTHING. It would not be enough for the law to do anything about it, but it's still legally FRAUD.

If only a couple hundred dollars was missing, most likely no one would have noticed. But it STILL would have been fraud and skimming off of funds that wasn't theirs. If someone steals $5 out of your pocket, it's still theft. It doesn't matter if that was your ONLY $5 or if you had another $5000 in your pocket at the time. It's still theft.

I think that Dean MEANT to say that it wouldn't have seemed like a big deal if a hundred bucks was missing, not that it would have been okay for them to take a hundred bucks. But the way he phrased it makes him say it would be fine for them to steal a LITTLE money from Maggie.

I'm pretty sure Dean doesn't think what the Wises did was right, nor do I believe Dean thinks it would have been okay for the Wises to steal just a little money. Stealing even ten dollars would have been theft/fraud.. although it wouldn't be something you could really prosecute over.

Now... back to the actual purpose of the thread.

Maggie, hang in there, it will get better one day. I hope your kiddos are doing okay, or as well as could be expected at this sad time. Very sorry to hear about your additional loss.

Theresa, you are absolutely right, I DID say that. Personally, I do not think it would have been fraud. I DO think it would have been theft though. It STILL would have irritated me nonetheless, but not enough to go to the measures that I am going to for them to be prosecuted.

Like I told the Wise's in numerous emails since, I did NOT donate to the Jeff and Christina fund and I will go after them to the fullest extent the law allows me. I cannot even post what I think about them without being banned. I wasnt their friend. Hell, I didnt even go their forum they created and I was a supposed moderator there.

It bothers me that I have been accused of defending them, befriending them, and now... stating points that I never made. Sure, some things said, I did in fact state. But, if I am not allowed to have a conflicting thought regarding how prosecutors would handle a couple hundred dollars, whats the point even. If I happen to disagree, or didnt consult with Deb and tell her my thoughts on what was going on in March, I am now consider a scammer and one of the bad guys.

Just because someone says they don't trust you because you're new doesn't mean the person is calling you a scammer. If you want to take it THAT personally that someone that doesn't know you won't jump up and say "Oh yes! I trust you implicitly, even though I don't know you from Adam's housecat!" then okay.. go for it. Get your knickers in a twist, just don't think we'll all wait for you to get done.



The chat stuff I witnessed, Deb didn't call anyone a scammer, she was jumped on because she was honest and said she wouldn't trust you because you were new and she doesn't know you.

THANK YOU to all the people who are getting the reports filed, and the folks who are compiling data and the folks sending stuff to Maggie and Maggie and childrens for being so understanding that not everyone in the reptile business is a scamming theif like the Wises.

Sorry Kevin, but taking a "couple" points would not constitute fraud by the truest definition of the word. As much as you would like for it be, a court of law would do nothing to them for that.

The ONLY amount I could POSSIBLY excuse them taking is the amount it would have taken to transfer ALL the funds to Rick & Maggie.

Even though they initiated the auctions, they shouldn't have to eat the PayPal transfer fees.

But EVERY SINGLE CENT they took-above and beyond those transfer fees- belong to Rick & Maggie.

Just my opinion of the whole free-for-all.

I dont often post here and have been lurking for quite awhile. Skimmed through a lot of this thread and im glad the community has come together to help out this family and also help get all the information together that is needed to press charges. I have a friend who lives in Flint and asked him about this and also about the address that is believed to be their residence. Needless to say he said it is a very, very nasty area, and he knows all of Flint from being an EMT.
So I know people want to kick butt and are upset but leave it to the authorities. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know, though I am not known here, this whole thing sucks.

Because people are too damn lazy to do something about it, or too scared of repercussions, so they look the other way, or put it off to another day. As far as I'm concerned, you're the major reason behind them continuing to do this kind of crap. I just don't get it.

Exactly. And the same mentality is why gangs run our streets and get away with it. Why 1000's enter our country illegally each year with no fear, why so many thefts and burglaries go unsolved. I disagree. Actually if any actions need to be taken by the mods it is handing out infractions for those who won't keep this on track.

Information is still needed from and for some people and some information is still forthcoming.

On a slightly off topic note, if there were/are any others involved believe me you I would have either already outed them or I will find you out if you exist. Pointing fingers at each other is just going to muddy the waters and make things less clear then this thread has already started becoming.

If you don't feel strong enough or have enough or any proof to support a BOI thread all of it's own then shut it, cut it and desist it here in this one.

This is what Christina was trying to do by playing people against one another and it seems some seeds of doubt she has planted are still popping up and will not help any matters here. Unless you count giving the Wises the satisfaction of watching the attention being diverted away from them.

So let's get it together and keep things on track.
