Wow...I have to admit that I could not bring myself to read this entire thread, or all of its sister thread. It's amazingly painful to watch grown-ups bicker like uneducated schoolyard bullies. None of it was even much of a matter of offering up proof of all the allegations being tossed around...just a bunch of "If I yell loud enough and throw in enough insults and curses, then it must be true!!"

Amanda, I don't think you're a bad person...and I'm pretty confident that you take fine care of your animals...but I wouldn't buy from you for the simple fact that you're not in a position to safely ship animals. I may not have known that before, but I do now. I hope you can figure out how to resolve that. And I do think, no matter how upset you were (and it seems like you had ample reason to be upset) a little more diplomacy in the initial post of this thread might have helped nip things in the bud rather than spark a crazy wildfire.

If so...I can pretty much safely say that Clarence would also make my list of "do not do business with". So what if you got a little karma ding? It's not the end of the world. On a more serious note... I don't know what really happen, but I can see both parties eye to eye. Amanda should have recieved notice the first day Lucy was showing any signs of illness. I know when one of my lil ones even wobbles funny, I'm on the phone with the seller asking a bunch of annoying questions, but the seller knows the history 100%, I don't. When ahe was notified she was willing to even BUY a replacement baby!!! WOW! Awesome!! Then ole Tinny wigged the flip out and flushed that down the drain! Once again WOW!! Never seen the likes of that in all my days!

Although I can see where Tinman didn't want to admit to a crime (even tho he did admit to a committing said crime in the past, just not this time) his lil boy did. I may have missed it, with my eyes crossing on me and all, but did the son step up and admit it was him?

I have to thank the BOI for being here. Even tho this thread was pretty childish, immature, pathetic and mind boggling, I now know who to and who not to buy from.

But this is not a mild temp week when this animal was shipped. these were hot and high temps.
i have had a package that got shipped second day because of carrier delays and the animal was fine. So i didnt fully disagree with what you said. BUT Shawn is deliberately shipping 2nd day and so is Amanda. And i stand right here right now and say if it continues, i do expect to see these two or just Amanda on the b.o.i. again for a d.o.a. and i dont wanna see that!

I was upset becuase I "said something that I never said" your seeing my response to Shawn... What Shawn didn't show you was the Pm's he sent me before I replied to him. I could be like Shawn and post what he said But the wording isn't for the BOI. (Via Curseing and "promises") as He put it. I can complety understand by what Shawn posted would make me not want to do business with me So I can see where your comming from... The simple truth is, the bearded dragon in question died 10 days after it was in his care. If you will take a look at the "bad guy thread" on ME you might find out just why they are dieing.
He had changed his story many times with the final outcome that it was sick, frail, and smaller on day one when he got it, yet he went around bragging and showing her pics off to everyone saying how great she was, how beautiful, perfect, and healthy she was and even his own pics showed that.

Yes I do and did admit I shipped USPS as it is my only choice at this time, and I have no reason to lie.
USPS Express is overnight and cost about $40 however since I do live way out in the mountains the carrier can not get the package to the airport in time at the end of the day as it is a long drive (or this is how the post master explained it to me) which means even when I pay for overnight it still takes 2 days. Not fair I know.
I have been told to "move" or give up the hobby I might just have to do that.

So it has nothing to do with being cheap or lazy ect..

Also it was in the 80's when I sent those dragons out..

We have never had a DOA...

I do plan to sell off over 100 reptiles and when I do I hope people will understand and work with me when I tell them it might be 2 weeks before all the reptiles get shipped out at once, because we have to take a day off work and make the 3 hour trip to ship them. That's the only way I know to do it..
If people don't understand and get upset that their reptile don't get ship right after payment well then I guess I'll be right back here on the BOI for being a scammer lol..

As for Amanda, and what she did wrong. As mentioned I disagree with her shipping practices, and believe she should charge her customers for the price of overnight shipping no matter what whether you run the risk of losing a customer or not.

I do charge them for overnight it is Express and is supposed to be one day but for me, being here it turns into 2 days..

Again thank you to the ones who did take the time to read through this mess and see what really happened here and a big thanks to my other customers who stepped in to say they did get healthy reptiles from me that are still alive and fine. Thanks to the many people I have heard from in the last few days saying it is nonsense and that they would buy from me anytime and do plan to in the future.
I do appreciate it..

Thats all well and good but at the end of the day if you can not get an animal shipped and delivered overnight you have no business shipping. You can dig into your profits and pay to have ups or fedex come to your home for pickup and they will not only pickup but also get the animal delivered ontime. The only excuse you have for not being able to offer appropriate shipping options is a pure lack of trying.

Fed-ex nor UPS will come to my HOUSE!!!!

We live in the MOUNTAINS and only 4X4 high trucks can get to us.

When they have a package for me they drop it off at a nearby store and we have to go get it...

It's not fun either way..

I guess I can call and see if they have that kind of pickup and will meet us at a store or somewhere at a certain time of the day when we are free but I doubt they will even consider that hold up and time out of their busy delivery day!

And to top it off a nearby store is NOT a drop off for UPS..

SO as I said I may have to move or just not deal reptiles.

You may want to take note that the management here takes a very dim view of ANYONE using ANY functions of this site to use such language in correspondence with another member, whether is it considered as "private" or not. Such activities reflect on this site as a whole, and as such are subject to "encouragement" to cease such behavior. Warnings are optional for any mod who fields such a complaint, and it may merely be a single example that could get someone banned.

I hope everyone understands that we are trying to clean up this site, and that does include the crap that some people think they are keeping under the carpet, out of sight, certainly, but providing an odor that we will all be better off without here.

Using USPS for various lizards was once fairly commonplace. I believe it was a change in policy by the USPS that changed that, even though it was well intended.
I don't have time to try to dig up the official explanation (it had to do with special handling concerns), but here is a statement from USPS.com:

Mailing Live Animals
Customers shipping live animals must ensure all packaging requirements are met. Live animal shipments may be presented at any Post Office; however, the service standard may be affected depending on the availability of transportation from the drop-off site.
Customers sending Express Mail shipments containing live animals should expect a 2-3 day transport of their shipment. Shipping early in the week is suggested, and holiday weeks may have limited acceptance days and times. Express Mail postage will not be refunded unless the delivery or attempted delivery is more than three days after the day of mailing.

Yes, your location may be a factor....but the above statement is a big part of the reason that people think poorly of shipping Express Mail (though I suspect that many of them weren't doing this when it happened, and were just told it was a poor option)
