In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

    PRO EXOTICS burning!

Fire broke out early this morning and they don't expect any snakes to survive. Thoughts and prayers to Chad, Robyn and gang. :( (This is the ONE instance I know of when glass aquariums are preferable to racks. All my snakes survived an electrical fire that gutted our house six years ago, but it...

Earthquakes and aftershocks and hurricanes, oh my!

Well, looks like we might get two weather "firsts" this week! So much for assuring my kids with absolute certainty that "we don't get hurricanes here." :o Hope everyone's battening down the hatches and has a safe place to hang out! I'll be trying not to hate my next-door neighbors (who have a...

    !@#$*% Raccoons!

I have a tiny garden, being a suburban gal, but nevertheless I'm proud of it. Haven't had any problems with critters, thanks largely to the dogs - until yesterday, when the raccoons discovered the corn patch. They trashed it, tearing down stalks for no apparent reason and leaving gnawed cobs...

    Ball Addicts Anonymous

Every freakin' time I'm on the verge of successfully diminishing my collection to just a few so I can focus more time and money on other pursuits, I see another that I just HAVE to have! And heck, there's space in the racks after all that winnowing! Maybe I could start up a new breeding...

F&@#!%g Guiding Eyes for the Blind doesn't give a crap about its dogs!

I have to make a decision by 8:00 p.m. today and I don't have the first clue what to do. Spent my day dealing with this, crying over it, upset and pissed off, and I don't even know how it became MY :censored: problem!! My blind husband retired his nine-year-old guide dog last week because the...

    ISO noisy frog/toad...advice?

My friend has a tank of fire belly toads in her living room and I love the little chirping noises they make. I also love the peeper concert that goes on behind my house in the spring, but that never lasts very long. :( I want to set up a 10-20 gallon tank in my bedroom for something that will...

    UNEXPECTED COXI EGGS!!!

My female Coxi, who has not been with the male since June, laid 6 eggs! I just found them while doing cage maintenance. I think she must have laid them yesterday because they are dimpled and starting to dry out. I don't have any vermiculite on hand but just launched a massive search for some...

    STUPID school!!!

Last year, a teacher at my son's school purchased a pet store iguana as a classroom pet. I was asked to care for it over the summer, which I gladly did, but then they refused to take him back when school began in the fall. So I am still in the possession of an iguana I would never have chosen to...

Heating an entire room for snakes?

I want to move all my snakes into one area of my house and heat that room separately. I'd still have individual heaters and thermometers, but the ambient temperature needs to be higher for the snakes than I want the rest of the house to be, come winter. The current nighttime room temp varies...

    Cannibalistic red-tailed rats!

Just walked past my red-tailed rats' cage and did a double-take: one of them had the other one's head in its mouth well past the neck!! This is a well-fed breeding pair in a large, naturalistic vivarium. :eek2: I whipped off the lid and grabbed each snake in mid-body. The one that was "eating"...

    It's a miracle!

It really is! My son left my pied's enclosure unsecured right around the time I had a huge hole in the wall adjacent to the snake area, plus a hole in the floor, due to plumbing repair and construction. The snake made his escape and though I searched systematically for HOURS, I could not find...

I, for one, have encountered several occasions recently when I could have really used a "spanking" smilie. :dgrin: And a boob-flashing smilie, that'd be useful, too. :o :D Jump on the more-smilies bandwagon, y'all!

    Juvie Green Iguana needs HEEEEELP!

A teacher at my son's school got this pet shop iguana as a classroom pet last year. Yeah, I know; DUMB. Long story short, the teacher is no longer with the school and the school doesn't want the lizard, so they dumped it on That Mom Who Has All The Snakes (yours truly). As far as I am aware...

Anyone heard of/tried this DIY cage resource?

I was surfing around looking at DIY cage designs (I need to make a few large arboreal cages for some Asian rats) and happened upon this page: http://www.reptile-cage-plans.com/ I don't know what to think - though the whole "infomercial" flavor of the page, testimonials and all - isn't making...

POLL for individual breeders/small business owners

OK, so I just concluded my research on getting an LLC and becoming a legitimate business entity (no dice, thanks to zoning regs here - I can have all the pet snakes I want, but I can't legally breed for the purpose of selling as a "home business"). I discussed this with a former corporate tax...
