I would like to make a comment here about the SOLD OUT tag being on someone's price list.
I think there are probably quite a few breeders out there that will do that for convenience sake, whether or not they produce the animals listed on their pages. For instance, I have, and will do it, myself. It is not being done maliciously and it is not being done to deceive. When I am finally working on getting my current pricelist online, I may have no idea what exactly, or how many, is going to be hatching out of those multi-het clutches of eggs. So I might put some things that there is only an outside chance that I will be producing, but since the eggs are either still just a hope on my part, since breeding hasn't even begun yet, I am just being optimistic about what I will be producing this season. I believe this is justifiable on a price list made based on projections and faith.
So when the eggs are hatching out from mid July thru mid September, maybe not everything I had hoped for will be hatching out. Matter of fact, if you look at my SerpenCo.com site right now, you will see colored markers that are a rough estimate of the status of what I have available. I had the Striped Butter corns marked as 'Sold Out' right off the bat, because I knew I wasn't going to sell any this year, but I wanted to spark interest in them. Others, well, I just didn't get them to hatch as I had hoped for, but should I really make up another colored marker to indicate "Didn't happen!"? Remove them from the list completely, even though I certainly may produce them next year, and I would want people to know I still have a chance at getting them next year? Yeah it would be more accurate, but certainly not anything worth worrying about. In my opinion, all 'Sold Out' is saying to someone looking at the page is that they are 'Not Available'.
So that's my take on it. Personally, even if it is found that Adam did not produce those animals he has listed on his site, I suspect that if you looked around, you would find this sort of situation on a lot more sites than you would suspect. And I would not give it a second thought.
Is it right or wrong? Heck, I just never thought about it before. In my case there was no deceit involved, and I guess I just think the same about someone else doing the same thing.
IMHO, of course.
